Gan Huoluan (dry Huoluan) presents as sudden abdominal distension and fullness, twisting and stabbing pain, resembling the grievance caused by Gu poison (parasitic disease), with inability to vomit or defecate. The condition resembles possession by spirits, leading to suffocation within moments. This also involves the Three Causes of disease: either Zang organ deficiency or inherent excess in the intestines and stomach, thus preventing vomiting and diarrhea.
Treats Gan Huoluan (dry Huoluan) and Gu poison, undigested retained food, accumulated cold, chest and abdominal irritability and fullness, and Gui Qi (ghost qi/sudden acute conditions).
Drink 3 sheng of extremely salty brine; first drink 1 sheng hot, stimulate the throat to induce vomiting of all retained food; if not vomited, continue taking it. After vomiting, drink again, repeating until three episodes of vomiting cease.
This method surpasses all other treatments. However, common people consider it a rustic and shallow practice, despise it, and refuse to use it, preferring to die rather than try it. For anyone suffering from this condition, this method should be used first.
