Ulmus Macrophylla Cortex (Yubai Pi), Cinnamomum Ramulus (Huai Zhi), Lupulin (Qumai), Akebia Caulis (Mutong), Cannabis Sativa Seed (Dama Ren) (each in equal parts).
The above are cut into pieces and made into a powder. Take five large qian per dose, with two zhan of water, decoct until seven-tenths remain, remove the dregs, and take twice daily.

For women, worry during pregnancy does not exceed that of gestation and childbirth; within an instant, it may lead to death or harm. Thus, comparing it to the moment of seeing the infant during labor pains is indeed perilous. When preparing for delivery, one must strictly avoid noise and commotion. Select an elderly midwife with a gentle disposition, along with pure and cautious family members to provide support. Do not act recklessly, causing the parturient woman anxiety and fear. If abdominal pain is severe, allow her to walk while supported. Or, if contractions are frequent and intense, resembling fire coming from the eyes, this indicates fetal rotation. Only when she can no longer walk should she ascend the bed for delivery. Delivery has its proper time; if pain is mild, it is called "playing pain" (nong tong). One must endure patiently; when the time comes, delivery will occur naturally. Do not exert force blindly, as this will surely cause difficult labor. Strictly forbid individuals involved in mourning or funeral rites from approaching; nor should they be seen after delivery, lest they harm the infant. One must follow the directions of the birth chart and avoid violating taboos. The birth chart is found in *Taiyi Ju Fang*.

Treats difficult labor due to sparse contractions, where delivery has not occurred after two or three days, or fetal death in utero, or maternal qi deficiency and exhaustion, with dry and slippery vaginal canal.
As soon as contractions begin and waters break, administer this prescription immediately.
Atractylodis Rhizoma (Cangzhu) (two liang, soaked and washed in rice water), Platycodon Radix (Jiegeng) (one liang), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi) (six qian), Angelica Dahurica Radix (Baizhi), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (roasted, each three qian), Angelica Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Chuan Wutou) (processed, skin and tip removed), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang) (processed), Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (Nanpu) (processed), Paeoniae Radix (Shaoyao), Pinelliae Rhizoma (Banxia) (washed seven times in hot water), Poria (Fuling), Aconiti Radix Praeparata (Fuzi) (processed, skin and navel removed), Arisaematis Rhizoma (Nanxing) (processed, each two qian), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong) (one and a half qian), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhiqiao) (bran-fried, four qian), Aucklandiae Radix (Nanmuxiang) (one qian), Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren) (fried, skin and tip removed), Equisetum Hiemale? No, Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) (bran-fried, each two and a half qian).
The above are ground into powder. Take one large qian per dose, taken down with warm wine; if feeling heat and stuffiness, mix with fresh drawn water and white honey to take.

Promotes labor, and treats difficult labor with transverse or malpositioned fetus.
Hydrargyrum (Shuiyin) (two qian), Plumbum (Qieidan) (one qian, melted in a crucible, mixed with hydrargyrum to form sand-like particles).
Squeeze out the hydrargyrum using a piece of cooked silk cloth, grind finely, and shape into pills using the corner of a sweat shirt, sized like mung beans. At the time of sitting on the birthing mat, swallow one or two pills with water for immediate effect. Reverence is still required.
