Treats adults and children whose intestines and stomach are invaded by wind-cold pathogens due to deficiency, leading to the failure of digesting water and grain, resulting in diarrhea with watery stools; as well as damp-heat toxins in the intestines and stomach, causing stool resembling bean juice, or passage of blood stasis, without day or night restraint.
Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Baifuling (Poria), Xiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma).
Equal parts of the above herbs, processed into a coarse powder decoction. Each dose is four qian, boiled with one dan and a half of water, adding over one hundred grains of millet, simmered together until three-tenths of the liquid remains. Strain the dregs and take it slightly warm on an empty stomach.
Regarding hematochezia (blood in stool), there are conditions such as intestinal hemorrhoids, gu poison, heat dysentery, wine dysentery, blood exhaustion, and lung atrophy, which have separate categories. As for wind dysentery (dysentery caused by wind pathogen), it should also be classified under the dysentery category because it presents with pure clear blood discharge; therefore, it is appended here, which must not be overlooked.
Hematuria (blood in urine) in patients is mostly caused by the stagnation of Heart and Kidney qi, or due to excessive worry and labor, or excessive sexual activity, which results from deficiency-cold. Thus, *Yangsheng* states: One cannot solely attribute bleeding to heat causing blood to overflow like boiling water. Both conditions lead to hematuria, differing from Lin syndrome (strangury) because there is no pain; thus, it belongs to hematuria. If there is pain, it should belong to the Blood Lin category.
To treat hematuria, whether urination precedes blood or blood precedes urination, this refers to the distinction between proximal and distal lesions.
Fahui (Ash of Human Hair) (*Bencao* states: It can resolve blood stasis, unblock Guan Ge obstruction, promote diuresis, break up masses and abscesses, treat fox urine thorn, corpse infection, miscellaneous sores, cure Zhuanbao (retention of urine), unblock large and small bowels, stop coughing and epistaxis).
Take the above single herb, two qian per dose, mixed with two he of rice vinegar and a little hot water for administration; mixing with well-water is also acceptable. It also treats lung abscess and heart bleeding. For internal collapse with vomiting of one or two mouthfuls of blood, or bleeding from the tongue like needle holes, if it is epistaxis, blowing the powder into the nose stops it immediately. Another method: burn palm fronds to ash, take with rice drink, greatly treating blood in large and small bowel movements. Yet another method: mix equal parts with Abelmoschus manihot seeds (Kui Zi), grind into powder, take two qian with water, particularly excellent for treating Zhuanbao.
To treat hematuria, and Sand Lin (lithiasis strangury) among the five types of Lin syndrome, where pain is unbearable.
Huangbo (Phellodendri Cortex), Renshen (Ginseng Radix) (equal parts).
Grind the above herbs into fine powder. Select a large radish, cut into slices one finger-thick and three fingers-wide, four or five slices at a time. Soak briefly in honey, then roast until dry, dip again in honey, continuing until two liang of honey is consumed. Do not let it burn. Once roasted, eat while dipping in the Huangbo and Renshen powder at any time, still sending it down with salt water.
