Treats pulse rate being rapid, body without fever, abdomen without accumulation masses, upon palpation feels soft; this is Changyong (Intestinal Abscess).
Yiyiren (Coicis Semen) (two liang and half), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) (half liang, processed), Baijiangcao (Patriniae Herba) (one liang and one fen).
The above are crushed into powder. Each dose is four qian, with one dan and a half of water, decocted to seven parts, filter the dregs, take on an empty stomach; effective when urination becomes smooth.
Treats Changyong (Intestinal Abscess), lower abdomen swollen and distended, pain upon pressure resembling Lin syndrome (dysuria), urination normal, frequent fever, spontaneous sweating, and aversion to cold; if the pulse is slow and tight, pus has not yet formed, purgation can be used, blood will likely appear in stool; if the pulse is surging and rapid, pus has formed, purgation is contraindicated.
Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (half liang, steamed), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex) (one qian and one zi), Taoren (Persicae Semen) (half liang, skin and tip removed), Guazi (Cucurbitae Semen) (three fen), Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas) (two qian).
The above are crushed into powder, prepared as one dose. With three dan of water, decoct to obtain eight-tenths of a dan, filter the dregs, add Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas), boil again, take all at once, regardless of time.
Treats Changyong (Intestinal Abscess), abdominal pain, restlessness due to heat; or abdominal distension and fullness with loss of appetite, scanty and difficult urination. Postpartum women with deficiency-heat often suffer from this disease; even if it is not an abscess, if suspected, it may be taken; even if misdiagnosed, there is no harm.
Yiyiren (Coicis Semen) (five liang), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), Taoren (Persicae Semen) (each three liang), Gabanren (Benincasae Semen) (four liang).
The above are crushed into powder. Each dose is four da qian, with one dan and a half of water, decocted to seven parts, filter the dregs, take regardless of time.
The Classic states: Intestinal disorders manifest as Zhi (Hemorrhoids/Prolapse). Like a small mountain protruding from a large marsh, called "Zhi", entering the nine orifices. Any small fleshy protrusion is called Zhi (Hemorrhoids/Prolapse), not only occurring around the anus, but also nasal Zhi, ocular Zhi, dental Zhi, etc. Symptoms of anal Zhi vary; medical texts divide them into five types: Mu Zhi, Pin Zhi, Mai Zhi, Chang Zhi, Qi Zhi. Mu Zhi (Yang Hemorrhoid): swelling and pain at the anus, protruding one mass, after five to six days, ulcerates and discharges pus and blood, healing spontaneously. Pin Zhi (Yin Hemorrhoid): several lumps emerge at the anus, shaped like mouse teats. Mai Zhi (Vascular Hemorrhoid): no head-like protrusion, small holes burst from vessels, discharging clear blood. Chang Zhi (Intestinal Hemorrhoid): grows inside the intestine, during defecation, cannot prolapse without manual assistance. Qi Zhi (Qi-related Hemorrhoid): flares up upon worry or anger, anus swells and hurts, heals when qi dissipates. The treatment method must strictly avoid using raw Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide); toxic vapors entering the abdomen can cause sudden death. Recently, I saw nobles suffering from this, unbearable in pain, so I write this to warn future students.
