Treats blood heat combined with qi deficiency, causing menstrual flow to be sluggish and obstructed, leading to blood stasis, numbness of the limbs, skin heat and sores, general body pain and fatigue, potentially developing into consumptive disease (Lao).
Do not recklessly administer other medicines; it is only appropriate to use this prescription to nourish the body and unblock the meridians.

The above herbs are crushed into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose, add 2 zhan of water and one Wumei (Chinese Plum), decoct until 1 zhan remains. Take on an empty stomach, 4-5 times daily. For those with these symptoms, take for half a month or longer.

Chishao Yao (Red Peony Root), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Gancao (Licorice Root), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba), Sheng Gan Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Recens, dried, remove soil), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, remove the heart), Gugen (Puerariae Radix / Trichosanthis Radix - note: Guagen usually refers to Pueraria in some contexts but often Trichosanthes in others, here likely Trichosanthis Radix given context of heat/dryness, WHO term: Trichosanthis Radix).
The above herbs are crushed into a powder. Take 3 qian per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, ten stems of Dengxincao (Junci Medulla), and ten pieces of Danzhuye (Lophatheri Folium), decoct and take warm at any time. If there are alternating chills and fever, add Qinjiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix).
Treats menstruation that is suddenly heavy or light, arriving early or late, with occasional painful attacks. Physicians generally call this a menstrual disorder without specifying whether Yin is excess or Yang is excess. Because of this imbalance, medication yields little effect. Generally, if Yin Qi overwhelms Yang Qi, the uterus becomes cold, and blood fails to circulate properly. As the classics state, "When heaven is cold and earth frozen, water congeals into ice," thus causing scanty flow occurring after the expected date. If Yang Qi overwhelms Yin Qi, blood flows and spills excessively. As the classics state, "When heaven is hot and earth warm, menstrual waters boil and overflow," thus causing excessive flow occurring before the expected date. One should harmonize Yin and Yang, regulate Qi and Blood, prevent them from overwhelming each other, and achieve balance as the auspicious outcome.

Treats Tian Gui (menstrual essence) having passed its time, with uneven menstrual cycles, either not coming for three or four months, or coming twice in one month, accompanied by lower back and abdominal pain. The *Suwen* states: Seven losses and seven benefits. This refers to women who, upon reaching the age of forty-nine (seven sevens), do not have their menstruation according to schedule. This indicates an excess of blood. It should not be forcibly stopped. One should only ensure the menstruation comes on time and does not cause lower back pain.
Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, half liang), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Shanzhuyu (Corni Fructus, soaked in water to extract flesh), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Yang Shaoyao (Peony Root - note: likely a variant name for Shaoyao), [these six herbs together crushed].
