Urination is difficult, and there is sweating only on the head; this indicates death (due to Yang collapse).
In patients with dampness, if mistaken treatment with purgation leads to sweating on the forehead and slight wheezing, it indicates death (due to Yang collapse).
Sweating on the hands and feet belongs to the Yangming Stomach channel.
When heat accumulates in the Stomach, body fluids leak out from the sides; this must be accompanied by hard stools or delirium, and purgation can be used.
When cold invades the Stomach, causing Yangming Cold-Invading the Middle, the patient cannot eat, urination is difficult, and stools are initially hard but later loose; purgation is contraindicated.
When pathogenic factors are in the exterior, there is no sweating, and the six pulses are floating and forceful.
In Taiyang disease, with no sweating and a floating-tight pulse, Mahuang Tang (Ephedra Decoction) is indicated.
