Luo (8 years old): Prolapse of the anus in early childhood. A method of raising and lifting [Qi] is proposed.
Jiaozhu Bai Zhu (Scorched Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 2 qian), Chao Baishao (Stir-fried Paeoniae Radix Alba, 1.5 qian), Chao Guangpi (Stir-fried Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 1 qian), Chao Guishen (Stir-fried Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 1 qian), Zhi Cao (Honey-fried Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.4 qian), Wumei Rou (Semen Pruni Mume, 0.8 fen), Chai Hu (Vinegar-processed Bupleuri Radix, 0.6 fen), Shengma (Vinegar-processed Cimicifugae Rhizoma, 0.5 fen).
Su (68 years old): The anus protrudes and turns out. Pain, bearing-down sensation, and distress. In late life, this constitutes Qi deficiency with sinking. This differs significantly from cases where Chongzi (a type of herb or specific context implying simple lifting) with Shengma and Chai Hu can raise [Yang]. However, pain necessarily implies accumulation and binding of stasis-heat in the lower jiao. Within the strategy of tonifying Qi to secure Yin, a small amount of bitter-draining herbs should be added. This exemplifies clinical flexibility, which should be as adaptable as a pearl rolling on a plate.

Wu (58 years old): Anus prolapse due to declining vitality in old age. Originating from the initial recovery from dysentery. It is not merely Qi deficiency with sinking, but dysentery inevitably damages Yin. It is proposed to administer warming and tonifying methods with internal support. This differs distinctly from simple raising and lifting.

Tang (32 years old): Suffering from Wei syndrome. Left leg hemiplegia/paralysis. Walking ability completely lost. Both pulses are choppy and weak. The back spine prefers being beaten. This belongs to Kidney deficiency, failing to receive and store. The storage and gathering functions lack governance. The root of the disease is in the lower part. One should adopt the intent of Huqian Wan.
