When Qi is in excess, it becomes Fire. When Qi rises from the left side of the body, it is Liver Fire. When it rises from below the umbilicus, it is Yin Fire. When heat rises from the soles of the feet and enters the abdomen, it indicates extreme deficiency. Fire agitation due to Yin deficiency is difficult to treat; mild cases can be treated by descending the fire, while severe cases require subduing it according to its nature. Excess Fire can be purged, and Deficiency Fire can be tonified.
To treat fever in the four limbs of men and women, heat between the sinews and bones, and surface heat feeling like fire burning on the skin, which feels hot to the touch, this condition often arises from Blood deficiency. Or, it may result from Spleen-Stomach deficiency combined with excessive consumption of cold foods, causing Yang Qi to be constrained within the Earth element of the Spleen. The following prescription is suitable for these conditions:
Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae), Gegen (Radix Puerariae), Duhuo (Radix Angelicae Pubescentis), Qianghuo (Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii), Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba), Renshen (Radix Ginseng), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, half raw and half roasted), Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri), Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae) (equal parts).
Decoct these ingredients in clear water and take orally. Avoid cold foods.
To treat symptoms caused by Excess Fire such as restlessness, confusion, thirst, convulsions, and severe internal heat, this illustrates that Excess Fire should be purged.
Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae), Huanglian (Rhizoma Coptidis), Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri), Zhizi (Fructus Gardeniae) (equal parts).
Decoct these ingredients in water and take orally. If Zhizi is removed and Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei) is added, it is named Dahuang Jinhua Wan (Rhubarb and Golden Flower Pill). If both Dahuang and Zhizi are added, it is named Zhizi Jinhua Wan (Gardenia and Golden Flower Pill). Danxi stated: For robust individuals with strong Qi, intense Fire, and mania, direct treatment can be used, or they may be given Xiaoshi (Natrii Nitras), Dahuang, and Bingwater (Ice Water). For those with Deficiency Fire causing mania, Ginger Decoction should be administered; if Bingwater is mistakenly used for direct treatment, death will occur immediately.
To treat dysfunction of the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner), attack by Wind-Heat, stagnation of Qi and Blood, dull pain in the teeth, atrophy and swelling of the gums, nasal congestion with heavy voice, and dizziness of the head and eyes, all of these can be treated.
Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Xixin (Herba Asari), Bohe (Herba Menthae) (2.5 qian each), Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) (1.7 qian), Duhuo (Radix Angelicae Pubescentis), Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae), Jingjie Sui (Cacumen Schizonepetae), Zhigancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata), Baitan (Lignum Santali Albi), Pian Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum) (0.5 fen).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, add Pian Nao and grind again. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with light tea liquor. Warm slightly, swish in the mouth, and spit out when cool. No fixed time restrictions. If one feels dizziness and headache, tooth...

Decoct with 1.5 bowls of water and 3 slices of Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens).
