Take seven *he* of honey. This single ingredient is placed in a copper vessel and slowly decocted over mild heat, stirred occasionally until it slightly thickens to a consistency resembling maltose syrup. Do not let it burn or stick to the bottom. While still hot, quickly shape it into pills and roll them by hand into suppositories. The shape should be pointed at one end and larger at the other, similar in size to a finger, with a length of approximately three *cun*. This must be done while the mixture is hot; if it cools, it will harden. Insert the suppository into the anus (rectum). Gently push it in with your hand, and remove it when the urge to defecate arises.
Take one large pig gallbladder, extract its juice, mix it with a small amount of vinegar, and instill the mixture into the rectum. Defecation should occur within the time it takes to eat one meal.
Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma (*Da Huang*) (six *liang*, peeled), Mirabilite (*Mang Xiao*) (one *sheng*), Kansui Root (*Gan Sui*) (one *qian*).
The above three ingredients are treated with six *sheng* of water. First, decoct the Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma (*Da Huang*) to obtain two *sheng* of liquid, then filter out the dregs. Add the Mirabilite (*Mang Xiao*) and boil for one or two boils. Then add the powdered Kansui Root (*Gan Sui*). Take one *sheng* warm. If smooth diarrhea is achieved, stop taking the remaining medicine.
Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma (*Da Huang*) (half a *jin*), Mirabilite (*Mang Xiao*) (half a *sheng*), Lepidium Seed (*Ting Li*) (half a *sheng*, stir-fried), Apricot Seed (*Xing Ren*) (half a *sheng*, peeled, tips removed, stir-fried until black).
The above four ingredients: crush and sieve the Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma (*Da Huang*) and Mirabilite (*Mang Xiao*). Mix them with the Apricot Seed (*Xing Ren*) and Mirabilite (*Mang Xiao*) and grind into a paste-like consistency. Form a pill the size of a bullet. Separately, grind the Kansui Root (*Gan Sui*) into powder (one *qian-bi*). Add two *he* of white honey and two *sheng* of water, decoct to obtain one *sheng*. Take when slightly cooled. Bowel movement should occur after one night. If no bowel movement occurs, administer another dose. Discharge of stool indicates efficacy. Observe dietary restrictions as per general medication protocols.
Coptis Rhizoma (*Huang Lian*) (one *liang*), Pinellia Tuber (*Ban Xia*) (half a *sheng*, washed), Trichosanthes Fruit (*Gua Lou Shi*) (two large ones).
The above three ingredients are treated with six *sheng* of water. First, decoct the Trichosanthes Fruit (*Gua Lou Shi*) to obtain three *sheng* of liquid, then filter out the dregs. Add the remaining herbs and decoct to obtain two *sheng*. Filter out the dregs and divide into three warm doses.
Genkwa Flower (*Yuan Hua*) (stir-fried), Kansui Root (*Gan Sui*), Euphorbia Root (*Da Ji*), Jujube Fruit (*Da Zao*) (ten pieces, split).
The above three herbs (Genkwa Flower (*Yuan Hua*), Kansui Root (*Gan Sui*), Euphorbia Root (*Da Ji*)) are equal in proportion. Each is separately crushed into powder. Treat with one and a half *sheng* of water. First, decoct ten large Jujube fruits (*Da Zao*) to obtain eight *he* of liquid, then filter out the dregs. Add the herbal powders. For robust individuals, take one *qian-bi*; for frail individuals, take half a *qian*. Take warm on an empty stomach in the morning. If the purgative effect is slight and the disease persists, administer again the next day, increasing the dose by half a *qian*. After achieving smooth diarrhea, nourish the body with millet porridge.
Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma (*Da Huang*) (two *liang*), Coptis Rhizoma (*Huang Lian*) (one *liang*).
The above two ingredients are soaked in two *sheng* of boiling water (referred to as "Ma Fei Tang," meaning water boiling vigorously like sesame seeds). After a short while, strain out the dregs and divide into two warm doses.
Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma (*Da Huang*) (two *liang*), Coptis Rhizoma (*Huang Lian*), Scutellaria Root (*Huang Qin*) (one *liang* each), Aconite Lateralis Radix Praeparata (*Fu Zi*) (one piece, processed, peeled, broken, and separately decocted to extract the juice).
The above four ingredients: chop the Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma (*Da Huang*), Coptis Rhizoma (*Huang Lian*), and Scutellaria Root (*Huang Qin*). Soak these three in two *sheng* of boiling water. After a short while, strain out the dregs. Add the juice extracted from the Aconite Lateralis Radix Praeparata (*Fu Zi*). Divide into two warm doses.
