妇人有经水艰涩，腹胀脚肿不能受孕者，人以为小肠之热也，谁知是膀胱之气不化乎！夫膀胱原与胞胎相近，
膀胱病而胞胎亦病矣。然水湿之气，必走膀胱，而膀胱不能自化，必得肾气相通，而始能化水以出阴气。倘膀胱无
肾气之通，则膀胱之气化不行，水湿之气，必且渗入胞胎之中而成汪洋之势矣。汪洋之田，又何能生物也哉？治法
必须壮肾气以分消胞胎之湿，益肾火以达化膀胱之水，使先天之本壮，则膀胱之气化，胞胎之湿除，而汪洋之田，
化成雨露之阶矣。水化则膀胱利，火旺则胞胎暖，安有布种而不发生者哉？
方用化水种子汤。
巴戟天（一两，盐水浸） 白术（一两，土炒） 茯苓（五钱） 人参（三钱） 菟丝子（五钱，酒炒） 芡实（五
钱，炒） 车前（二钱，酒炒） 肉桂（一钱，去粗研）
水煎服。二剂而膀胱之气化，四剂而艰涩之症除。又十剂而虚胀脚肿之形消。再服六十剂肾气大旺，胞胎温暖，
易于受胎而生育矣。此方利膀胱之水，全在补肾中之气；暖胞胎之气，全在壮肾中之火。至于补肾之药，多是濡润
之品，不以湿而易助其湿乎？然方中之药，妙于补肾之火，而非补肾之水。尤妙于补火而无燥烈之虞，利水而非荡涤
之猛。所以膀胱气化，胞胎不湿，而发荣长养无穷与。
眉批∶便涩腹胀足浮肿，此症极多，不惟不能受孕，抑且暂添杂症，久而不愈，甚有成劳瘵不治者。此方补
水而不助湿，补火而使归元，善极，不可加减一味。若无好肉桂，以破故纸一钱炒代之，用核桃仁二个连皮烧黑，去皮
用仁作引。若用好肉桂，即可不用核桃引。
歌括∶便涩腹胀足浮肿，只缘胞胎湿气满。
利膀胱水壮肾火，汪洋水地变良田。
化水种子巴戟天，白术茯苓共车前。
人参芡实菟丝子，再加肉桂火归元。
妇女有经血排出不畅、腹部胀满、脚部浮肿而不能受孕的，人们以为是小肠有热，谁知道这是膀胱气化功能失常呢！膀胱原本与胞胎（子宫）位置相近，膀胱生病，胞胎也会受累。然而水湿之气，必然流向膀胱，而膀胱不能自行化解水湿，必须得到肾气的贯通，才能化水排出阴气。如果膀胱没有肾气的贯通，那么膀胱的气化功能就无法运行，水湿之气必然渗入胞胎之中，形成汪洋一片的局面。像这样汪洋般的田地，又怎么能孕育生命呢？治疗方法必须通过壮补肾气来分消胞胎中的湿气，益助肾火以通达膀胱中水的代谢，使先天之本（肾）强壮，则膀胱的气化功能恢复，胞胎的湿气消除，那汪洋般的田地，就会化成雨露滋润的阶梯了。水液代谢正常则膀胱通利，肾火旺盛则胞胎温暖，哪有播种而不发芽生长的道理呢？
方用化水种子汤。
巴戟天（一两，盐水浸泡） 白术（一两，土炒） 茯苓（五钱） 人参（三钱） 菟丝子（五钱，酒炒） 芡实（五钱，炒） 车前子（二钱，酒炒） 肉桂（一钱，去粗皮研碎）
水煎服。服用两剂后膀胱的气化功能恢复，四剂后经血艰涩的症状消除。再服十剂后虚胀和脚肿的形体消退。继续服用六十剂，肾气大旺，胞胎温暖，容易受孕并生育了。此方利膀胱之水，全在于补肾中之气；暖胞胎之气，全在于壮肾中之火。至于补肾的药物，多是濡润之品，难道不会因湿而加重湿气吗？然而方中的药物，妙在补肾之火，而非补肾之水。尤其妙在补火而没有燥烈的担忧，利水而不是猛烈的荡涤。所以膀胱气化正常，胞胎不潮湿，从而发荣长养无穷无尽。
眉批：便涩腹胀足浮肿，这种症状极多，不仅不能受孕，而且暂时增添杂症，久治不愈，甚至发展成劳瘵（肺结核等慢性消耗性疾病）无法治愈的。此方补水而不助湿，补火而使火归元，功效极好，不可随意加减一味药。如果没有好肉桂，可以用破故纸（补骨脂）一钱炒制代替，用核桃仁二个连皮烧黑，去皮取仁作为药引。如果用好的肉桂，就可以不用核桃引。

Women who experience difficult and scanty menstruation, abdominal distension, edema of the feet, and infertility are often thought to suffer from heat in the Small Intestine. However, it is actually due to the failure of Qi transformation in the Bladder (Bladder). The Bladder is originally located close to the Chongmai and Renmai vessels (uterus/womb). When the Bladder is diseased, the uterus is also affected. Water-dampness qi naturally flows into the Bladder, but the Bladder cannot transform it on its own; it requires the connection of Kidney Qi to transform water and discharge Yin Qi. If the Bladder lacks the connection of Kidney Qi, its Qi transformation will not function, and water-dampness qi will inevitably seep into the uterus, creating a vast expanse of water. How can such a watery field generate life? The treatment method must strengthen Kidney Qi to separate and eliminate dampness in the uterus, and benefit Kidney Fire to facilitate the transformation of water in the Bladder. By strengthening the Root of Pre-Heaven (Kidney), the Qi transformation of the Bladder is restored, dampness in the uterus is eliminated, and the vast watery field is transformed into a ladder for rain and dew. When water metabolism is normal, the Bladder is unobstructed; when Kidney Fire is vigorous, the uterus is warm. How could sowing seeds fail to sprout and grow?
Prescribe Huashui Zhongzi Decoction (Water-Transforming Seed-Nourishing Decoction).
Morinda officinalis Radix (Bajitian) (30g, soaked in salt water)
Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu) (30g, stir-fried with soil)
Poria (Fuling) (15g)
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) (9g)
Cuscutae Semen (Tusizi) (15g, stir-fried with wine)
Euryale Semen (Qianshi) (15g, stir-fried)
Plantaginis Semen (Cheqianzi) (6g, stir-fried with wine)
Cinnamomi Cortex (Rougui) (3g, remove coarse bark and grind)
Decoct in water and take orally. After two doses, the Qi transformation of the Bladder is restored; after four doses, the symptom of difficult menstruation is eliminated. After another ten doses, the forms of false distension and foot edema disappear. Continue taking for sixty doses, and Kidney Qi will become very vigorous, the uterus will be warm, making conception and childbirth easy. This formula benefits the water of the Bladder entirely by supplementing the Qi in the Kidney; it warms the Qi of the uterus entirely by strengthening the Fire in the Kidney. As for herbs that tonify the Kidney, most are moistening substances; would they not exacerbate dampness by adding wetness? However, the herbs in this formula are ingenious in tonifying Kidney Fire rather than Kidney Water. It is especially ingenious that it tonifies Fire without the risk of being drying and harsh, and promotes urination without being violently purgative. Thus, the Qi transformation of the Bladder is normal, the uterus is not damp, and growth and nourishment are endless.
Marginal Note: Difficult urination, abdominal distension, and foot edema are very common symptoms. Not only do they prevent conception, but they also temporarily add miscellaneous diseases. If untreated for a long time, they may even develop into incurable consumptive diseases (Lao Zhai). This formula tonifies Water without aiding dampness, and tonifies Fire to return it to its source. Its efficacy is excellent, and no single herb should be added or subtracted. If good Cinnamon Bark (Rougui) is unavailable, substitute with one qian (3g) of Psoraleae Fructus (Pogu Zhi/Buguzhi) stir-fried, using two Walnuts (Hetaoren) with skin burnt black, peeled, and the kernel used as a guide drug. If good Cinnamon Bark is used, Walnut guide drug is unnecessary.
Song Verse:
Difficult urination, abdominal distension, and foot edema,
Are solely due to dampness filling the uterus.
Benefiting Bladder water and strengthening Kidney Fire,
Turns vast watery fields into fertile land.
Huashui Zhongzi uses Morinda, Atractylodes, and Poria together with Plantago seed.
Ginseng, Euryale, and Dodder seed,
Plus Cinnamon Bark to return Fire to its source.
