断血药 金毛狗脊一两，明矾三钱，血竭少许，为末糁上，其血即止。
又方 寒水石、花蕊石、龙骨、黄丹、没药各五钱，黄药子七钱半；一方加白芨、乳香、轻粉，为末敷上，
以绢帛扎定。治金疮出血不止，及诸疮疼痛、脓血不干、久不生肌。
敛口木槟有准。
敛口药 轻粉、木香、黄连、白芨为末，临肉满糁之，诸疮不合口者皆效。若用之太速，毒瓦斯舒泄未尽，必
于其傍复发大疽。
古香槟散 木香、槟榔各等分为末糁上，干者蜡油调涂。生肌敛肉，止痛甚速。一方加黄连、当归各等分。
单方 用经霜桑叶为末频糁，治疮大窟不敛，外又以桑叶煎汤洗之，或加白蔹、白芨、鸡 之类亦好。
外贴内服。太乙云母麒麟兮，神应万应千槌欲成丹；
太乙膏 玄参、白芷、当归、肉桂，大黄、赤芍、生地各一两，用油二斤半浸，夏三、冬十、春秋七日，
方入铜锅内，文武火煎至药枯黑，滤去渣，入黄丹十二两，以桃枝不住手搅，煎至滴水成珠，软硬得中，
即成膏矣。治一切痈疽肿毒，不问年月深浅、已未成脓者并宜。如发背，先以温水洗拭，摊绯绢贴之，更用冷
水送下；血气不通，温酒下；赤白带，当归煎酒下；咳嗽及喉闭缠喉风，绵裹含化；一切风赤
眼，贴两太阳穴，更以山栀煎汤下；打扑伤损外贴内服，陈皮煎汤下；膝痛外贴内服，盐汤下；唾血，桑白煎汤
下；妇人经闭腹块作痛，贴之经行痛止；一切疥疮，别炼油少许和膏涂之；虎犬蛇蝎、汤火金疮伤，并外贴
内服；诸瘰漏疮疖及杨梅疮毒溃烂，先用盐汤洗净贴之，并用温酒下三五十丸，梧子大，以蛤粉为衣。其
膏可收十年不坏，愈久愈烈。
云母膏 川椒、白芷、赤芍、肉桂、当归、菖蒲、黄 、白芨、川芎、木香、龙胆草、白蔹、防风、浓朴、
桔梗、柴胡、人参、苍术、黄芩，附子、茯苓、良姜、百合皮、松脂各五钱，甘草、柏叶、桑白皮、槐枝、柳
枝、陈皮各二两，用清油四十两，浸封七日，文武火煎，以柳木不住手搅，候匝沸乃下火，沸定又上火，如此
者三次，以药枯黑滤去渣再熬，入黄丹二十两，没药、盐花、血竭、麝香、乳香各末五钱，云母、硝石各末四
两，以槐枝不住手搅，滴水成珠，不软不硬为度，瓷器收贮，候温将水银二两以绢包定，以手细弹，铺在膏上，
名养膏母。用时先刮去水银，或丸梧子大服，或摊绛布上贴，随宜用之。如发背，败蒲煎汤，洗拭贴之，内
服一两，分三次温酒下，未成者即愈；乳痈瘰 ，骨疽毒穿至骨，外贴内服一两，分三次酒下，甚者即泻亚物；
肠痈内服五两，分五次，甘草煎汤下，未成脓者消，已成脓者，随药下脓，下后每日仍酒下五丸，脓止住服；
发颐、发鬓、发眉、发耳、脐痈、牙痈、牙疼、瘤赘，及一切疮疖肿毒，并外贴实时毒消痛止而愈，甚者内服；
风眼贴两太阳穴；小肠气茴香煎酒下一分，日二服即愈。难产温酒下一分；血晕欲死，姜汁和童便温酒下
十丸即醒；死胎，榆白皮煎汤下五钱即生。壁虎、蜘蛛咬，外贴留疮口；虎豹咬，甘草煎汤洗拭贴之，每日
一换；蛇犬咬，外贴，内服十丸，生油下。箭头入肉，外贴，每日吃熟绿豆少许，箭头自出；中毒药酒下一分，
每日一服，四日泻出恶物立瘥，但有所苦，药到即愈，忌羊血，余无所忌。如收此药防身，以蜡纸裹，不令
风干，可收三十年，不损药力。
麒麟竭膏 当归、木鳖肉、知母、五倍子、细辛，白芷各五钱，槐柳枝各十四寸。一方用山慈菇、红芽大
戟、巴豆各五钱，用香油三两半同前八味入锅属性武火煎，以柳枝不住手搅，煎至药枯黑，滤去渣，入松香末
十两，沥清末二两，仍不住手搅，如沸溢即下火搅之，再上火一茶顷，滴水成珠，不软不硬，即入血竭三钱，
轻粉、麝香各二钱，雄黄四钱，乳香、没药各末五钱，徐徐而下，速搅极匀，凝则再上火，勿令沸溢，倾入
水中浸半日，后以手搏之，渐渐软和，番覆揉扯如金丝之状。再入水浸之，如前揉扯，春夏频换水，多浸愈妙，
紧急亦浸两宿。治一切痈疽五发毒疮，生者贴之即散，熟者即穿，逐败生肌，首尾可用，一切疔肿结核并贴患
处， 疮先用齑汁、白矾入汤洗净，以牛蒡子叶或金刚藤叶先贴半日，取尽恶水，然后贴膏，刻日可愈；一
切臀股黄湿痒痛等疮，并洗拭贴之；一切打扑伤损、闪挫气闷等症，并贴患处。头疼贴两太阳穴，赤眼贴眼
胞鱼尾，暴伤风冷嗽贴脊心，牙疼刮药塞牙缝，面肿贴面。小儿疳痢等疾，为丸绿豆大，米饮下二三十丸；
一切风寒湿痹臂腿疼痛，俱贴痛处，无不有效。
神应膏 香油一斤，入乱发一团鸡子大，于铫中文武火熬至发枯，入杏仁一两再煎枯黑，滤去渣，入黄
七钱半，玄参五钱，熬一二时久，住火，候火力稍息，入带子蜂房一两，蛇蜕五钱，以柳木不住手搅，慢火熬
至枯黑，滤去渣，入黄丹五两，不住手搅匀，滴水成珠，不软不硬，瓷器收贮，随意摊贴。治诸般痈肿疖毒，
外科神药，人多忽之。
万应膏 木香、川芎、牛膝、生地、细辛、白芷、秦艽、归尾、枳壳、独活、防风、大枫子、羌活、黄芩、
南星、蓖麻子、半夏、苍术、贝母、赤芍、杏仁、白蔹，茅香、两头尖、艾叶、连翘、川乌、甘草节、肉桂、
良姜、续断、威灵仙、荆芥、 本、丁香、金银花、丁皮、藿香、红花、青
风藤、乌药、苏木、玄参、白鲜皮、僵蚕、草乌、桃仁、五加皮、山栀、牙皂、苦参、穿山甲、五倍子、降真
节、骨碎补、苍耳头，蝉蜕、蜂房、鳖甲、全蝎、麻黄、白芨各一两，大黄二两，蜈蚣二十一条，蛇蜕三条，桃、
柳、榆、槐、桑、楝、楮七样树皮各二十一寸，用麻油十二斤浸，春五夏三秋七冬十日，方入铜锅内，文武
火煎至药枯黑，滤去渣，瓷器收贮；另用松香一斤溶化。入前药，油二两同熬，滴水成珠，不软不硬，仍滤入水
中，翻覆揉扯，如金色即成膏矣。治一切风气寒湿、手足拘挛、骨节酸疼、男人痞积、女人血瘕及腰疼胁痛诸
般疼痛、结核转筋。顽癣、顽疮积年不愈，肿毒初发，杨梅肿硬未破者，俱贴患处。肚腹疼痛、疟痢俱贴脐上，
痢白而寒者尤效。咳嗽哮喘，受寒恶心，胸隔胀满，男妇面色痿黄，脾胃等证及心疼，俱贴前心。负重伤力。浑
身拘痛者贴后心与腰眼。诸疝小肠气等证贴脐下神效。
千捶膏 白松香一斤，蓖麻仁、杏仁各三百粒，铜青三两，乳香、没药各一两半，轻粉二钱，共入石臼内，
向日下以木杵捶成膏，如燥少加香油捶之，瓷器收贮。每用忌火，宜于汤内溶化，红绢摊开贴之。治诸般痈毒、
无名恶疮，未成者散，已成者拔毒追脓。如腹中痞块及疟疾，贴大椎及身椎穴，其效如神。
呼脓长肉，白蜡琥珀水粉兮，白膏红膏绿膏如练锦。
呼脓长肉膏 麻油三斤，入桃、柳、槐枝各七寸，头发一团鸡子大，熬焦枯，入当归、黄 、黄连各一两
半，黄柏、黄芩、大黄、白芷、杏仁、防风、荆芥、羌活、独活、连翘、山栀各一两，赤芍、地黄、白芨、
青风藤、金银花各八钱，文武火煎至药枯黑，滤去渣，入黄丹半斤，黄蜡五两，沥青二两，同煎至油滚，渐渐
加之，滴入水中，软硬得所，方入乳香、没药各末五钱，血竭、轻粉各三钱，急手搅匀，瓷器收贮。专治痈疽
发背疔疖等毒。已破出脓毒，油纸摊贴，如脓多用绢揩净，将此膏于火边略烘再贴。第三次另换一个贴之，贴
得将收口，量疮大小贴之。
白蜡膏 当归、生地各一两，用麻油一两，煎药枯黑，滤去渣，入白蜡或黄蜡一两溶化，候冷搅匀，即
成膏矣。治痈疽发背汤火等证，去腐生肌止痛，补血续筋，又与新肉相宜，其效如神。或加乳香、没药、龙骨、
血竭、儿茶、轻粉尤妙。
琥珀膏 归尾、川芎、黄 梢、蜂房、皂角、升麻、甘草梢、蓖麻子、木鳖子、芍药、白蔹、独活、 本、
防风梢、枸杞子、栝蒌仁、苏木、白芷、杏仁、黄连、槐枝各一两，用水五大碗，煎至减半，去渣，其渣再用
水五大碗，煎至减半，去渣，与前汁和匀，以槐枝不住手搅，慢火熬至成膏，入香油四斤，真酥二两，羊肾脂
油四两，搅匀，文武煎至水尽，约以纸条燃着，不爆为度，方徐徐入黄丹二斤，柳枝不住手搅，滴水成珠，软
硬得所，如软添丹，硬再加油再熬，方入琥珀、木香、乳香、没药、云母、雄黄、朱砂、甘松各末二钱半，发
灰二两，枯矾一两，轻粉、麝香各末二钱，急搅令极匀，微煎数沸，以瓷器收贮，浓纸红绢摊开，量疮大小贴
之神效。治五发恶疮，疔肿瘰 ，远年冷疳痔漏，一切无名肿毒及虎犬蛇伤，并皆治之。
水粉膏 黄丹半斤，水粉四两研匀，用麻油一斤熬至滴水成珠，次下乳香、没药、龙骨、血竭、儿茶、轻
粉各末二钱搅匀，瓷器收贮，摊纸贴之。治痈疽瘰 ，生肌敛口止痛。如贴艾灸火疮，不须下乳、没等药便好。
白膏药 水粉一两半，赤石脂一两，樟脑五钱，轻粉二钱半，为末，用生猪脂去膜，同捣成膏，先将生肌
散糁上，然后贴之，神效。
红膏药 先以黄蜡一两溶化，次下香油三钱、黄丹五钱，搅匀，再熬成膏，瓷器收贮。贴诸疮毒及汤火金
疮等伤。
绿膏药 铜青、蓖麻子各一两，松香四两，木鳖子五十个，杏仁五钱，巴豆五枚，乳香、轻粉各二钱，为
末，捣匀于净石上，用斧捶
千余下，成膏收贮，水浸旋用。治诸般恶疮肿毒、软疖。
贴膏药法 如疮有脓血不净，痂瘢闭碍，须用药水洗净拭干、候水气干，却用膏贴，贴后有黄水脓血流出，
用纸揩，从侧畔出。一日一换，黄水脓血止，两日、三日一换，贴至愈。凡洗拭换膏，必须预备即贴之，新
肉恶风故也。
吁！疡医设，天官掌，制毒有方；刽子手，菩萨心，误伤何忍！
《周礼·天官》掌疡医，制五毒方，为外科之祖。
止血药物：金毛狗脊一两，明矾三钱，血竭少许，研为细末撒在伤口上，出血即可停止。

古香槟散：木香、槟榔各等分研为细末撒在患处，干燥者用蜡油调匀涂抹。生肌敛肉，止痛速度极快。另一配方加黄连、当归各等分。
单方：使用经霜打的桑叶研为细末频繁撒布，治疗疮疡大洞不愈合，外部再用桑叶煎汤清洗，或者加白蔹、白芨、鸡矢藤之类也很好。
外贴内服并用。太乙云母麒麟膏啊，神应、万应、千捶即将制成丹药；
太乙膏：玄参、白芷、当归、肉桂，大黄、赤芍、生地各一两，用油二斤半浸泡，夏季三天、冬季十天、春秋七天，然后放入铜锅内，用文武火煎至药材枯黑，滤去药渣，加入黄丹十二两，用桃枝不停手搅拌，煎至滴水成珠，软硬适中，即成为膏药。治疗一切痈疽肿毒，不论发病年月深浅、是否已成脓都适宜。如发背疮，先用温水清洗擦拭，摊在绯色绢布上贴敷，同时用冷水送服；气血不通，用温酒送服；赤白带下，用当归煎酒送服；咳嗽及喉闭缠喉风，用绵裹含化；一切风热红眼，贴敷两侧太阳穴，同时用山栀煎汤送服；跌打损伤外贴内服，用陈皮煎汤送服；膝痛外贴内服，用盐汤送服；唾血，用桑白皮煎汤送服；妇人经闭腹中肿块作痛，贴敷后月经通畅疼痛停止；一切疥疮，另炼油少许调和膏药涂抹；虎犬蛇蝎咬伤、汤火烫伤、金刃创伤，均外贴内服；各种瘰疬漏疮疖肿及杨梅疮毒溃烂，先用盐汤洗净贴敷，并服用温酒送下的三十至五十丸梧子大小的药丸，以蛤粉为衣。此膏可收藏十年不坏，越久药效越强。
云母膏：川椒、白芷、赤芍、肉桂、当归、菖蒲、黄柏、白芨、川芎、木香、龙胆草、白蔹、防风、浓朴、桔梗、柴胡、人参、苍术、黄芩，附子、茯苓、良姜、百合皮、松脂各五钱，甘草、柏叶、桑白皮、槐枝、柳枝、陈皮各二两，用清油四十两，密封浸泡七日，用文武火煎煮，以柳木不停手搅拌，待沸腾后离火，沸定后再上火，如此三次，待药材枯黑滤去药渣再熬，加入黄丹二十两，没药、盐花、血竭、麝香各研为细末五钱，云母、硝石各研为细末四两，用槐枝不停手搅拌，滴水成珠，不软不硬为标准，瓷器收贮，待温热时将水银二两用绢包好，用手细细弹碎，铺在膏药上，名为养膏母。使用时先刮去水银，或制成梧子大小丸剂服用，或摊在绛布上贴敷，随宜使用。如发背疮，用败蒲煎汤，清洗擦拭后贴敷，内服一两，分三次温酒送服，未成脓者即愈；乳痈瘰疬，骨疽毒穿至骨头，外贴内服一两，分三次酒送服，严重者即泻出腐败物质；肠痈内服五两，分五次，甘草煎汤送服，未成脓者消散，已成脓者，随药排出脓液，排脓后每日仍酒送服五丸，脓止停药；发颐、发鬓、发眉、发耳、脐痈、牙痈、牙疼、瘤赘，及一切疮疖肿毒，均外贴即时毒消痛止而愈，严重者内服；风眼贴两侧太阳穴；小肠气用茴香煎酒送服一分，每日两次即愈。难产温酒送服一分；血晕欲死，姜汁混合童便温酒送服十丸即醒；死胎，榆白皮煎汤送服五钱即生。壁虎、蜘蛛咬伤，外贴留疮口；虎豹咬伤，甘草煎汤清洗擦拭后贴敷，每日一换；蛇犬咬伤，外贴，内服十丸，生油送服。箭头入肉，外贴，每日吃少许熟绿豆，箭头自出；中毒药酒送服一分，每日一服，四日泻出恶物立愈，但有所不适，药到即愈，忌食羊血，其余无禁忌。如收藏此药防身，用蜡纸包裹，不让风吹干，可收藏三十年，不损药力。
麒麟竭膏：当归、木鳖肉、知母、五倍子、细辛，白芷各五钱，槐柳枝各十四寸。另一配方用山慈菇、红芽大戟、巴豆各五钱，用香油三两半同前八味入锅，武火煎煮，用柳枝不停手搅拌，煎至药材枯黑，滤去药渣，加入松香末十两，沥清末二两，仍不停手搅拌，如沸腾溢出即离火搅拌，再上火一茶顷时间，滴水成珠，不软不硬，即加入血竭三钱，轻粉、麝香各二钱，雄黄四钱，乳香、没药各研为细末五钱，徐徐加入，快速搅拌极均匀，凝固则再上火，勿令沸腾溢出，倾入水中浸泡半天，后用手揉捏，渐渐软和，翻覆揉扯如金丝状。再入水浸泡，如前揉扯，春夏频繁换水，多浸泡更好，紧急也浸泡两个夜晚。治疗一切痈疽五发毒疮，生的贴之即散，熟的即破溃，驱逐败血生肌，首尾可用，一切疔肿结核均贴患处，疮口先用醋汁、白矾入汤洗净，用牛蒡子叶或金刚藤叶先贴半天，吸尽恶水，然后贴膏药，按日期可愈；一切臀股黄湿痒痛等疮，均清洗擦拭后贴敷；一切跌打损伤、闪挫气闷等症状，均贴患处。头疼贴两侧太阳穴，红眼贴眼睑鱼尾处，暴受风寒咳嗽贴脊心，牙疼刮药塞牙缝，面肿贴面部。小儿疳痢等疾病，制成绿豆大小丸剂，米饮送服二三十丸；一切风寒湿痹臂腿疼痛，均贴痛处，无不有效。
神应膏：香油一斤，入乱发一团鸡蛋大小，在铫子中文武火熬至头发枯黑，加入杏仁一两再煎枯黑，滤去药渣，加入黄丹七钱半，玄参五钱，熬一二小时，停火，待火力稍息，加入带子蜂房一两，蛇蜕五钱，用柳木不停手搅拌，慢火熬至枯黑，滤去药渣，加入黄丹五两，不停手搅拌均匀，滴水成珠，不软不硬，瓷器收贮，随意摊贴。治疗各种痈肿疖毒，外科神药，人多忽视。
万应膏：木香、川芎、牛膝、生地、细辛、白芷、秦艽、归尾、枳壳、独活、防风、大枫子、羌活、黄芩、南星、蓖麻子、半夏、苍术、贝母、赤芍、杏仁、白蔹，茅香、两头尖、艾叶、连翘、川乌、甘草节、肉桂、良姜、续断、威灵仙、荆芥、藁本、丁香、金银花、丁皮、藿香、红花、青风藤、乌药、苏木、玄参、白鲜皮、僵蚕、草乌、桃仁、五加皮、山栀、牙皂、苦参、穿山甲、五倍子、降真节、骨碎补、苍耳头，蝉蜕、蜂房、鳖甲、全蝎、麻黄、白芨各一两，大黄二两，蜈蚣二十一条，蛇蜕三条，桃、柳、榆、槐、桑、楝、楮七样树皮各二十一寸，用麻油十二斤浸泡，春五夏三秋七冬十日，然后放入铜锅内，文武火煎至药材枯黑，滤去药渣，瓷器收贮；另用松香一斤溶化。加入前药，油二两同熬，滴水成珠，不软不硬，仍滤入水中，翻覆揉扯，如金色即成为膏药。治疗一切风气寒湿、手足拘挛、骨节酸疼、男人痞积、女人血瘕及腰疼胁痛各种疼痛、结核转筋。顽癣、顽疮积年不愈，肿毒初发，杨梅肿硬未破者，均贴患处。肚腹疼痛、疟痢均贴脐上，痢白而寒者尤其有效。咳嗽哮喘，受寒恶心，胸隔胀满，男妇面色痿黄，脾胃等证及心疼，均贴前心。负重伤力。浑身拘痛者贴后心与腰眼。诸疝小肠气等证贴脐下神效。

呼脓长肉膏：麻油三斤，入桃、柳、槐枝各七寸，头发一团鸡蛋大小，熬焦枯，加入当归、黄柏、黄连各一两半，黄柏、黄芩、大黄、白芷、杏仁、防风、荆芥、羌活、独活、连翘、山栀各一两，赤芍、地黄、白芨、青风藤、金银花各八钱，文武火煎至药材枯黑，滤去药渣，加入黄丹半斤，黄蜡五两，沥青二两，同煎至油滚，渐渐加入，滴入水中，软硬得当，方加入乳香、没药各研为细末五钱，血竭、轻粉各三钱，急手搅拌均匀，瓷器收贮。专治痈疽发背疔疖等毒。已破出脓毒，油纸摊贴，如脓多用绢揩净，将此膏在火边略烘再贴。第三次另换一个贴敷，贴得将收口，量疮大小贴敷。

琥珀膏：归尾、川芎、黄柏梢、蜂房、皂角、升麻、甘草梢、蓖麻子、木鳖子、芍药、白蔹、独活、藁本、防风梢、枸杞子、栝蒌仁、苏木、白芷、杏仁、黄连、槐枝各一两，用水五大碗，煎至减半，去渣，其渣再用水五大碗，煎至减半，去渣，与前汁和匀，用槐枝不停手搅拌，慢火熬至成膏，加入香油四斤，真酥二两，羊肾脂油四两，搅匀，文武煎至水尽，约以纸条燃着，不爆为标准，方徐徐加入黄丹二斤，柳枝不停手搅拌，滴水成珠，软硬得当，如软添丹，硬再加油再熬，方加入琥珀、木香、乳香、没药、云母、雄黄、朱砂、甘松各研为细末二钱半，发灰二两，枯矾一两，轻粉、麝香各研为细末二钱，急搅令极均匀，微煎数沸，以瓷器收贮，浓纸红绢摊开，量疮大小贴敷神效。治疗五发恶疮，疔肿瘰疬，远年冷疳痔漏，一切无名肿毒及虎犬蛇伤，均能治疗。
水粉膏：黄丹半斤，水粉四两研匀，用麻油一斤熬至滴水成珠，次下乳香、没药、龙骨、血竭、儿茶、轻粉各研为细末二钱搅匀，瓷器收贮，摊纸贴敷。治疗痈疽瘰疬，生肌敛口止痛。如贴艾灸火疮，不需加乳香、没药等药便好。
白膏药：水粉一两半，赤石脂一两，樟脑五钱，轻粉二钱半，研为细末，用生猪脂去膜，同捣成膏，先将生肌散撒在患处，然后贴敷，神效。
红膏药：先以黄蜡一两溶化，次下香油三钱、黄丹五钱，搅匀，再熬成膏，瓷器收贮。贴敷各种疮毒及汤火金刃创伤等伤。
绿膏药：铜青、蓖麻子各一两，松香四两，木鳖子五十个，杏仁五钱，巴豆五枚，乳香、轻粉各二钱，研为细末，捣匀于干净石上，用斧捶打千余下，成膏收贮，水浸旋用。治疗各种恶疮肿毒、软疖。
贴膏药法：如疮有脓血不净，痂瘢闭碍，须用药水洗净拭干、待水气干，却用膏贴，贴后有黄水脓血流出，用纸揩，从侧畔出。一日一换，黄水脓血止，两日、三日一换，贴至痊愈。凡洗拭换膏，必须预备即贴之，新肉恶风故也。
唉！疡医设立，天官掌管，制毒有方；刽子手，菩萨心，误伤何忍！
《周礼·天官》掌管疡医，制定五毒方，为外科之祖。
Hemostatic Medicines: Jinmao Gouji (Cibotium Rhizome) 1 liang, Mingfan (Alum) 3 qian, Xuejie (Dragon's Blood) a small amount, ground into fine powder and sprinkled on the wound; bleeding will stop immediately.
Another prescription: Hanshuishi (Calcitum), Huaruishishi (Pyrrhotite), Longgu (Fossilized Bones), Huangdan (Lead Monoxide), Moyao (Myrrh) each 5 qian, Huangyaozi (Dioscorea Bulbifera) 7.5 qian; another variant adds Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome), Ruxiang (Frankincense), Qingfen (Calomel), ground into fine powder and applied to the affected area, secured with silk fabric. Treats uncontrollable bleeding from knife wounds, as well as pain from various sores, non-healing pus and blood, and failure of new flesh to grow over long periods.
Wound Contraction: Muxiang (Costus Root) and Binglang (Areca Nut) are effective.
Wound Contraction Medicines: Qingfen (Calomel), Muxiang (Costus Root), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome), Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome) ground into fine powder, fully sprinkled on exposed muscle at time of use; effective for all sores that fail to close. If used too hastily, before toxins have fully dispersed, severe carbuncles will inevitably recur nearby.
Ancient Xiangbin San: Muxiang (Costus Root) and Binglang (Areca Nut) in equal parts, ground into fine powder and sprinkled on the affected area; if dry, mix with beeswax oil for application. Promotes flesh regeneration and wound contraction, with very rapid pain relief. Another variant adds Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) and Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) in equal parts.
Single Herb Prescription: Use mulberry leaves that have been frosted, ground into fine powder and frequently sprinkled; treats large ulcerated cavities that fail to heal. Externally, wash with decoction of mulberry leaves, or add Bailian (Ampelopsis Radix), Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome), Jishiteng (Paederia Scandens) etc., which is also good.
External application combined with internal administration. Taiyi Yunmu Qilin Gao (Taiyi Cloud Mother Kylin Ointment), Shenyi Wanying Qianchui Yucheng Dan (Shenyi, Wan Ying, Qian Chui about to become pills);
Taiyi Gao (Taiyi Ointment): Xuanshen (Scrophularia Root), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Rougui (Cinnamon Bark), Dahuang (Rhubarb Root), Chishao (Red Peony Root), Shengdi (Rehmannia Root) each 1 liang, soaked in 2.5 jin of oil. Summer: 3 days; Winter: 10 days; Spring/Autumn: 7 days. Then place in a copper pot, boil using moderate heat until herbs are blackened and withered, filter out dregs, add 12 liang of Huangdan (Lead Monoxide), stir constantly with peach wood branch, boil until a drop forms a bead in water, achieving medium consistency, then the ointment is ready. Treats all carbuncles, ulcers, swellings, and toxic masses, regardless of duration or whether suppuration has occurred. For Back Carbuncle (Fabai), first wash and wipe with warm water, spread on crimson silk and apply; internally take with cold water. For Qi and Blood stagnation, take with warm wine. For red and white leukorrhea, take with Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) decocted in wine. For cough, throat obstruction, and wind-entangling throat, wrap in cotton and dissolve in mouth. For all wind-red eyes, apply to both Taiyang acupoints, and internally take with Gardenia (Zhizi) decoction. For trauma and injuries, apply externally and take internally with Tangerine Peel (Chenpi) decoction. For knee pain, apply externally and take internally with salt water decoction. For hemoptysis, take with Mulberry Root Bark (Sangbaipi) decoction. For women with amenorrhea and abdominal masses causing pain, apply until menstruation resumes and pain stops. For all tinea corporis, mix a little refined oil with the ointment for topical application. For bites from tigers, dogs, snakes, scorpions, burns, scalds, and knife wounds, apply externally and take internally. For various scrofula, fistulas, boils, and disintegrating chancroidal toxins, first wash with salt water, apply, and internally take 30-50 pills the size of wu zi seeds (Sophora japonica seeds) coated with Ge Fen (Margarita Powder) taken with warm wine. This ointment can be stored for ten years without spoiling; the longer it is stored, the stronger its efficacy.
Yunmu Gao (Cloud Mother Ointment): Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica), Chishao (Red Peony Root), Rougui (Cinnamon Bark), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Changpu (Acorus Rhizome), Huangbo (Phellodendron Bark), Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Rhizome), Muxiang (Costus Root), Longdancao (Gentiana Root), Bailian (Ampelopsis Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root), Houpo (Magnolia Bark), Jiegeng (Platycodon Root), Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), Renshen (Ginseng Root), Cangzhu (Atractylodes Rhizome), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Fuzi (Aconite Lateral Root), Fuling (Poria), Liangjiang (Galangal Rhizome), Baihepi (Lily Skin), Songzhi (Pine Resin) each 5 qian; Gancao (Licorice Root), Baye (Cypress Leaf), Sangbaipi (Mulberry Root Bark), Huaizhi (Locust Wood Branch), Liuzhi (Willow Branch), Chenpi (Tangerine Peel) each 2 liang. Soak in 40 liang of clear oil, sealed for seven days. Boil with moderate heat, stirring constantly with willow wood. When boiling, remove from fire; when settled, return to fire. Repeat this three times. Filter out blackened herbs and simmer again. Add 20 liang of Huangdan (Lead Monoxide), Moyao (Myrrh), Yanhua (Salt Flower), Xuejie (Dragon's Blood), Shexiang (Musk) each ground to 5 qian powder; Yunmu (Mica), Xiaoshi (Niter) each ground to 4 liang powder. Stir constantly with locust wood until drops form beads in water, neither soft nor hard. Store in porcelain. When warm, wrap 2 liang of Mercury (Shuiyin) in silk, crush finely by hand, and spread on the ointment, named "Yang Gaomu" (Nourishing Ointment Mother). Before use, scrape off the mercury. Can be formed into pills the size of wu zi seeds for oral administration, or spread on crimson cloth for external application, according to convenience. For Back Carbuncle, wash and wipe with Decoction of Old Rice Straw (Baipu), apply externally, and internally take 1 liang divided into three doses taken with warm wine; those not yet suppurated will heal. For Breast Abscess (Ruyong) and Scrofula (Luoli), Bone Abscess penetrating bone, apply externally and internally take 1 liang divided into three doses taken with wine; severe cases will expel necrotic matter. For Intestinal Abscess (Changyong), internally take 5 liang divided into five doses taken with Licorice (Gancao) decoction; un-suppurated cases resolve, suppurated cases expel pus with the medicine. After pus stops, continue taking 5 pills daily with wine until cessation. For Parotid Swelling (Fayi), Temple Swelling (Fabing), Eyebrow Swelling (Famei), Ear Swelling (Faei), Umbilical Abscess (Qiyong), Dental Abscess (Yayong), Toothache, Tumors, and all sores/boils/swellings/toxic masses, apply externally for immediate toxin elimination, pain relief, and healing; severe cases require internal administration. For Wind Eye, apply to both Taiyang acupoints. For Small Intestine Qi (Xiaochangqi), take 1 fen with Fennel (Huixiang) decocted wine, twice daily for cure. For difficult labor, take 1 fen with warm wine. For Blood Syncope approaching death, take 10 pills with Ginger Juice mixed with Child's Urine and warm wine to regain consciousness. For Dead Fetus, take 5 qian with Elm White Bark (Yubaipí) decoction to deliver. For Gecko/Spider bites, apply externally leaving the wound open. For Tiger/Leopard bites, wash/wipe with Licorice (Gancao) decoction, apply, change once daily. For Snake/Dog bites, apply externally, internally take 10 pills with raw oil. For embedded arrowheads, apply externally, eat a little cooked mung bean daily until the arrowhead exits. For poisoning, take 1 fen with wine, once daily; expel bad substances after four days for immediate recovery. If discomfort arises, the medicine works immediately. Avoid sheep blood; no other restrictions. To store this medicine for protection, wrap in wax paper to prevent drying from wind; can be stored for thirty years without losing potency.
Qilinjie Gao (Kylin Blood Ointment): Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Muguerou (Momordica Seed Flesh), Zhimu (Anemarrhena Rhizome), Wubeizi (Chinese Gall), Xixin (Asarum), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica) each 5 qian; Huaizhi (Locust Wood Branch), Liuzhi (Willow Branch) each 14 cun. Another variant uses Shancigu (Cremastra Pseudobulb), Hongya Daji (Euphorbia Humifusa Root), Badou (Croton Seed) each 5 qian. Mix with 3.5 liang of sesame oil and the previous eight ingredients in a pot. Boil with strong fire, stirring constantly with willow branch until herbs are blackened and withered. Filter out dregs. Add 10 liang of Pine Resin (Songxiang) powder, 2 liang of Beeswax (Liqing). Stir constantly; if boiling over, remove from fire and stir, then return to fire for the time it takes to drink one cup of tea. Until drops form beads in water, neither soft nor hard. Then add 3 qian of Xuejie (Dragon's Blood), 2 qian each of Qingfen (Calomel) and Shexiang (Musk), 4 qian of Xionghuang (Realgar), 5 qian each of Ruxiang (Frankincense) and Moyao (Myrrh) powders. Add slowly, stir vigorously until uniform. If solidifying, reheat but do not boil. Pour into water and soak for half a day. Knead by hand until soft and pliable, folding and pulling like golden threads. Re-soak and knead as before. In spring/summer, change water frequently; more soaking is better. In emergencies, soak for two nights. Treats all carbuncles, ulcers, and five-type toxic sores. Applied to fresh sores they dissipate; applied to mature sores they rupture. Expels necrotic tissue and generates flesh, usable throughout the course. Apply to all Ding (carbuncle-like) swellings and nodules. For existing sores, first wash with vinegar juice and alum water, then apply Burdock leaf or Jingangteng leaf for half a day to draw out evil fluids, then apply the ointment; heals within prescribed days. For all yellow-damp, itchy, painful sores on buttocks/thighs, wash/wipe and apply. For all trauma, sprains, Qi stagnation, apply to affected area. For headache, apply to Taiyang acupoints. For red eyes, apply to eyelid corners. For acute wind-cold cough, apply to spine center. For toothache, scrape powder into tooth gap. For facial swelling, apply to face. For pediatric malnutrition/dysentery, form into mung-bean-sized pills, take 20-30 with rice water. For all wind-cold-damp bi syndrome arm/leg pain, apply to painful areas; all effective.
Shenyi Gao (Divine Response Ointment): Sesame Oil 1 jin, add a clump of tangled hair the size of an egg. Boil in a pot with moderate heat until hair is blackened. Add 1 liang of Xingren (Apricot Seed) and fry until black. Filter out dregs. Add 7.5 qian of Huangdan (Lead Monoxide), 5 qian of Xuanshen (Scrophularia Root). Boil for 1-2 hours, then remove from fire. Wait for heat to subside. Add 1 liang of Honeycomb (Fengfang), 5 qian of Snake Slough (Shetui). Stir constantly with willow wood. Simmer on low heat until blackened. Filter out dregs. Add 5 liang of Huangdan (Lead Monoxide). Stir constantly until drops form beads in water, neither soft nor hard. Store in porcelain. Spread and apply as needed. Treats all kinds of carbuncles, swellings, boils, and toxic masses. A divine surgical medicine often overlooked by people.

Soak in 12 jin of Hemp Oil. Spring: 5 days; Summer: 3 days; Autumn: 7 days; Winter: 10 days. Then place in copper pot, boil with moderate heat until herbs are blackened. Filter out dregs, store in porcelain. Separately melt 1 jin of Pine Resin (Songxiang). Add to the filtered herb oil, along with 2 liang of oil, and boil until drops form beads in water, neither soft nor hard. Filter into water, fold and pull until golden colored, forming the ointment. Treats all wind-Qi cold-dampness, limb spasms, joint soreness, male abdominal masses, female blood stasis masses, waist/flank pain, all pains, nodules, and muscle cramps. Stubborn tinea, chronic sores lasting years, initial swelling/toxic masses, hard chancroids not yet broken, all apply to affected area. Abdominal pain, malaria/dysentery, all apply to umbilicus; especially effective for white, cold dysentery. Cough/asthma, cold-induced nausea, chest oppression, sallow complexion in men/women, Spleen/Stomach disorders, heart pain, all apply to anterior chest. For heavy labor injury, whole-body stiffness/pain, apply to posterior chest and lumbar region. For various hernias and Small Intestine Qi, apply below umbilicus; divine effect.
Qianchui Gao (Thousand Hammer Ointment): Bai Songxiang (White Pine Resin) 1 jin, Bamaren (Castor Kernel), Xingren (Apricot Seed) each 300 grains, Tongqing (Verdigris) 3 liang, Ruxiang (Frankincense), Moyao (Myrrh) each 1.5 liang, Qingfen (Calomel) 2 qian. Put together in a stone mortar. Pound into ointment with wooden pestle in sunlight. If too dry, add a little sesame oil and pound. Store in porcelain. Do not use fire; melt in hot water. Spread on red silk and apply. Treats all kinds of carbuncle toxins, nameless malignant sores. Un-suppurated ones dissipate; suppurated ones draw out toxin and pus. For abdominal masses and malaria, apply to Dazhui and Shen Zhui acupoints; effect is divine.
Calling forth Pus and Growing Flesh, Baisha Hupo Shuifen Xi, Baigao Honggao Lvgaoru Lianjin.
Hunong Zhangrou Gao (Pus-Calling Flesh-Growing Ointment): Sesame Oil 3 jin. Add Tao/Liu/Huai branches (7 cun each) and a clump of hair (egg-sized). Fry until blackened and withered. Add Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Huangbo (Phellodendron Bark), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) each 1.5 liang; Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Dahuang (Rhubarb Root), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica), Xingren (Apricot Seed), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root), Jingjie (Schizonepeta Spike), Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome), Duhuo (Angelica Pubescens Root), Lianqiao (Forsythia Fruit), Shanzhi (Gardenia Fruit) each 1 liang; Chishao (Red Peony Root), Dihuang (Rehmannia Root), Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome), Qingfengteng (Sinomenium Stem), Jinyinhua (Honeysuckle) each 8 qian. Boil with moderate heat until herbs are blackened. Filter out dregs. Add 0.5 jin of Huangdan (Lead Monoxide), 5 liang of Huangla (Yellow Beeswax), 2 liang of Qingling (Bitumen). Boil together until oil boils, adding gradually. Test drop in water for proper consistency. Then add Ruxiang (Frankincense), Moyao (Myrrh) each 5 qian powder, Xuejie (Dragon's Blood), Qingfen (Calomel) each 3 qian. Stir rapidly until uniform. Store in porcelain. Specifically treats carbuncles, back abscesses, Ding sores, and boils. For ruptured sores with pus/toxin, spread on oil paper and apply. If pus is excessive, wipe clean with silk, warm the ointment slightly near fire, and reapply. On the third dressing, use a fresh piece. As the wound closes, size the patch to the wound.
Baisha Gao (White Wax Ointment): Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Shengdi (Rehmannia Root) each 1 liang. Use 1 liang of Sesame Oil. Fry herbs until blackened. Filter out dregs. Add 1 liang of Baisha (White Beeswax) or Huangla (Yellow Beeswax) to melt. Cool and stir uniformly. Treats carbuncles, back abscesses, burns/scalds. Removes necrotic tissue, generates flesh, relieves pain, nourishes blood, reconnects tendons, and harmonizes with new flesh. Effect is divine. Adding Ruxiang (Frankincense), Moyao (Myrrh), Longgu (Fossil Bones), Xuejie (Dragon's Blood), Ercha (Terminalia Chebula Resin), Qingfen (Calomel) is even better.
Hupo Gao (Amber Ointment): Guiwei (Angelica Sinensis Tail), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Rhizome), Huangbo Shao (Phellodendron Tip), Fengfang (Honeycomb), Zaojiao (Gleditsia Fruit), Shengma (Cimicifuga Rhizome), Gancao Shao (Licorice Tip), Bamazi (Castor Bean), Mugua Zi (Momordica Seed), Shaoyao (Peony Root), Bailian (Ampelopsis Radix), Duhuo (Angelica Pubescens Root), Guben (Ligusticum Wallichii), Fangfeng Shao (Saposhnikovia Tip), Gouqizi (Goji Berry), Gualou Ren (Trichosanthes Seed), Sumu (Sappan Wood), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica), Xingren (Apricot Seed), Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome), Huaizhi (Locust Wood Branch) each 1 liang. Use 5 large bowls of water. Decoct until reduced by half, strain. Return dregs to 5 large bowls of water, decoct until reduced by half, strain. Mix filtrates. Stir constantly with locust wood. Simmer slowly until paste-like. Add 4 jin of Sesame Oil, 2 liang of True Butter (Zhen Su), 4 liang of Sheep Kidney Fat. Stir uniformly. Boil with moderate heat until water evaporates. Test with burning paper strip (no popping sound). Slowly add 2 jin of Huangdan (Lead Monoxide). Stir constantly with willow branch until drops form beads in water, achieving proper consistency. If too soft, add more mineral; if too hard, add more oil and simmer. Then add Amber, Muxiang (Costus Root), Ruxiang (Frankincense), Moyao (Myrrh), Yunmu (Mica), Xionghuang (Realgar), Zhusha (Cinnabar), Gansong (Nardostachys) each 2.5 qian powder, Hair Ash 2 liang, Ku Fan (Alum) 1 liang, Qingfen (Calomel), Shexiang (Musk) each 2 qian powder. Stir rapidly until uniform. Briefly boil a few times. Store in porcelain. Spread on thick paper/red silk, size to wound, apply; divine effect. Treats five-type malignant sores, Ding swellings, scrofula, chronic cold malnutrition/hemorrhoids/fistulas, all nameless swellings/toxic masses, tiger/dog/snake bites. All treated.
Shuifen Gao (Water Powder Ointment): Huangdan (Lead Monoxide) 0.5 jin, Shuifen (Basic Lead Carbonate) 4 liang, ground uniformly. Use 1 jin of Sesame Oil. Boil until drops form beads in water. Then add Ruxiang (Frankincense), Moyao (Myrrh), Longgu (Fossil Bones), Xuejie (Dragon's Blood), Ercha (Terminalia Chebula Resin), Qingfen (Calomel) each 2 qian powder. Stir uniformly. Store in porcelain. Spread on paper and apply. Treats carbuncles, scrofula. Generates flesh, contracts wounds, relieves pain. For moxa burns/fire blisters, omit Ruxiang/Moyao etc.; simply applying is sufficient.
Baigao Yao (White Ointment): Shuifen (Basic Lead Carbonate) 1.5 liang, Chishizhi (Red Halloysite) 1 liang, Zhangnao (Camphor) 5 qian, Qingfen (Calomel) 2.5 qian. Ground into powder. Use raw pork lard (de-membraned), pound together into ointment. First sprinkle Shengji San (Flesh-Generating Powder) on the wound, then apply. Divine effect.
Honggao Yao (Red Ointment): Melt 1 liang of Huangla (Yellow Beeswax). Add 3 qian of Sesame Oil, 5 qian of Huangdan (Lead Monoxide). Stir uniformly. Boil into ointment. Store in porcelain. Apply to various sores/toxins, burns, scalds, knife wounds.
Lvga Yao (Green Ointment): Tongqing (Verdigris), Bamazi (Castor Bean) each 1 liang, Songxiang (Pine Resin) 4 liang, Mugua Zi (Momordica Seed) 50 pieces, Xingren (Apricot Seed) 5 qian, Badou (Croton Seed) 5 pieces, Ruxiang (Frankincense), Qingfen (Calomel) each 2 qian. Ground into powder. Pound uniformly on a clean stone with an axe for over 1,000 strikes. Form into ointment and store. Soak in water before use. Treats all kinds of malignant sores/swellings/toxic masses, soft boils.
Method for Applying Ointments: If a sore has impure pus/blood or scabs obstructing, must wash with medicinal water, wipe dry, wait for moisture to evaporate, then apply ointment. After application, yellow fluid/pus/blood will flow out; wipe with paper, allowing exit from the side. Change once daily. Once yellow fluid/pus/blood stops, change every 2-3 days. Continue until healed. When washing/changing, prepare to apply immediately afterwards, because new flesh fears wind.
Alas! Surgeons are established, under the charge of Heavenly Officials, with methods to control toxins; Executioners have Bodhisattva hearts, how could one bear accidental harm!
