1. Leukorrhea arises from labor-induced injury to the Chong and Ren meridians, with pathogenic wind entering the uterus, affecting the blood. The color varies into five hues depending on the internal organs' qi and the transformation by damp-heat or cold-damp. Green corresponds to the Liver, yellow to the Spleen, white to the Lung, black to the Kidney, and red to the Heart. Treatment follows the principle of tonification or purgation, drying or warming, based on the involvement of the five organs and dampness. One must also distinguish whether the discharge originates from ulcer pus, blood stasis transformation, turbid bladder disease, or uterine leukorrhea.
[Note] Leukorrhea results from fatigue injuring the Chong and Ren meridians, allowing wind pathogens to enter the uterus. The blood becomes contaminated by these pathogens and transforms according to the organ's qi and the presence of damp-heat or cold-damp. Therefore, green color indicates the Liver, caused by wind-damp; red indicates the Heart, caused by heat-damp; yellow indicates the Spleen, caused by deficiency-damp; white indicates the Lung, caused by clear-damp; black indicates the Kidney, caused by cold-damp. Treatment involves tonifying, purging, astringing, cooling, or warming, tailored to the syndrome. Furthermore, examine the long-term dripping discharge: if it has a foul or fishy odor, it is transformed from rotten blood, indicating a uterine pathology. If it resembles pus from an ulcer, it is not transformed from blood stasis but indicates an internal abscess. If it resembles rice washings accompanied by difficult urination, it is turbid urine of the Bladder. If urination is unobstructed but discharge comes from the essence orifice, appearing sticky like glue, it is white vaginal discharge (Baiyin) of the uterus.
