Failure to protect the umbilical stump after cutting exposes the infant to cold. The stool contains greenish-white matter, accompanied by abdominal pain and borborygmus. Sanhan Heqi Yin (Cold-Dispersing and Qi-Harmonizing Decoction) is highly effective; Wenbu Tiaozhong Tang (Warming, Tonifying, and Middle-Regulating Decoction) is most efficacious.
[Note]
Qihan Xie (Umbilical Cold Diarrhea) is mostly caused by improper care after umbilical cord separation, allowing wind-cold pathogens to invade the body and transmit to the Large Intestine, resulting in cold-type diarrhea.
Symptoms include stool containing greenish-white matter, abdominal pain, and borborygmus.
First, use Heqi Yin (Qi-Harmonizing Decoction) to warm and disperse the pathogen, then use Tiaozhong Tang (Middle-Regulating Decoction) to warm and tonify, thus addressing the root cause effectively.
