[Prescription Verse] Huochi Chuang (Fire-Red Blister) arises from seasonal pathogens, with blistering vesicles covering the body. Treatment distinguishes between upper and lower body involvement due to wind-dampness and heat; clearing the Heart and purging the Spleen brings peace.
[Annotation] This condition results from reckless movement of Heart Fire or contraction of summer-heat pathogens during extreme heat. The fire pathogen enters the Lung and becomes latent and knotted. Initially, lesions are small like water chestnuts or large like chess pieces. These are blistering vesicles; those with red coloration are called Huochi Chuang (Fire-Red Blister). If they have white tops and red bases, they are named Tianpao Chuang (Heavenly Blister Disease). Both spread over the entire body, causing burning heat and pain. Unruptured blisters are not firm; upon rupture, toxic fluid oozes out, causing maceration without foul odor. Lesions predominantly appearing on the upper body indicate excess Wind-Heat, for which Jiedu Xiexin Tang (Detoxifying Heart-Purging Decoction) is suitable. Lesions predominantly appearing on the lower body indicate excess Damp-Heat, for which Qingpi Chushi Yin (Spleen-Clearing Dampness-Removing Drink) is suitable. For unruptured lesions, Kedou Baidu San (Tadpole Detoxification Powder) should be applied externally. For ruptured lesions, Shizhen San (Stone Treasure Powder) should be sprinkled externally to clear damp-heat, drying the broken skin effectively.
