After being bitten by a mad dog, one must first suck the wound with the mouth to drain out the foul blood; once the foul blood is drained, rabies (Feng) will not develop. Subsequently, moxibustion should be applied at the bite site for one hundred moxa cones (Zhuang). Regularly consuming moxa-treated Chinese chives ensures that there is no need for alarm.
Note: [1] For wounds caused by a mad dog, immediately use a large-mouthed clay wine pot filled with dry distilled liquor, heated until extremely hot. Pour out the liquor and place the spout of the pot against the bite site, suctioning like a cupping therapy, until all foul blood is extracted. The pot will detach automatically upon cooling. Apply moxa cones above the wound to prevent recurrence permanently.
[2] "Moxa chives" refers to stir-fried Chinese chives.

When injured by snakes, scorpions, centipedes, or spiders, the pain at the moment of injury is unbearable. Urgently apply moxibustion at the injury site using garlic slices as an insulator; applying fifty to sixty moxa cones yields extraordinary effects.
Note: [1] In cases of snake, scorpion, centipede, or spider bites where pain is severe and the condition critical, urgently apply moxibustion at the injury site to extract and disperse toxic qi, bringing relief. Alternatively, use a single clove of garlic sliced and placed between the skin and moxa cone (Garlic-insulated Moxibustion); replace the garlic slice every two or three moxa cones. For severe toxicity, apply fifty to sixty moxa cones.

The Zusanli point is located three cun below the knee eye, between the two tendons. It can relieve chest and hypochondriac pain, abdominal distension, cold in the stomach, borborygmus, and diarrhea. It also treats blepharospasm, soreness and acid sensation in the knees and shins, emaciation and debility due to Cold Damage (Shanghan), and various conditions such as Qi Gu syndrome. After the age of thirty, acupuncture and moxibustion can restore clear vision.
Note: [1] "Sanli" refers to the Zusanli acupoint (ST36).
[2] The point is located three cun below the knee eye, on the lateral border of the tibia, within the depression medial to the large tendon. Needle depth is five fen; retain the needle for seven breaths. Apply three moxa cones.
[3] Indications include chest and hypochondriac pain, abdominal distension, borborygmus due to stomach cold, diarrhea due to spleen cold, redness and swelling of the eyes, soreness and acid sensation in the knees and shins, persistent heat from Cold Damage, emaciation and deficiency, lower intestinal Qi pain, water accumulation disorders, Gu poison, Guiji attacks, and various other syndromes. Acupuncture and moxibustion are suitable for all these conditions.
[4] However, moxibustion is contraindicated in children, as it may impair vision. Only individuals over thirty years of age should undergo moxibustion to ensure bright and clear vision (Figure 114).
