[Prescription Verse] Baihui Jū (Baihui Carbuncle) occurs at the vertex, belonging to the Du Meridian's Baihui Acupoint. Initially resembling a millet grain, it gradually enlarges to the size of a coin; severely, it resembles a grape and is hard as iron. If presenting with high swelling, heat, and excess syndrome, clear the toxic fire; if presenting with flat collapse and Yang deficiency, apply warm tonification. If the swelling extends to the ears and neck with phlegm rattling in the throat, and fails to suppurate within seven days, life will be lost.
[Annotation] This Baihui Jū, also known as Yuding Fa (Jade Top Eruption), arises in the center of the vertex and belongs to the Baihui Acupoint of the Du Meridian. It is caused by excessive consumption of rich and greasy foods, leading to the coagulation of Fire-Toxin. Initially, the shape resembles a millet grain; it gradually swells with a root broad as a coin. Severely, it resembles a grape, hard as iron, rising sharply with redness and swelling, burning heat, and pain. The base of the sore is gathered, accompanied by aversion to cold and high fever, extreme thirst where drinking provides immediate relief from dryness, bitter taste in the mouth, scorched lips, constipation, irritability, and a flooding and rapid pulse. This indicates Qi Excess (Excess Syndrome). It is suitable to take Huanglian Xiaodu Yin (Coptis Decoction for Clearing Toxicity) to clear toxic fire, and externally apply Chonghe Gao (Harmony Plaster). If there is diffuse swelling with flat collapse, purple-dark color, hardness, [Xingyue] pain with a scattered base, aversion to cold, and loose stools, with a fine and rapid pulse, this indicates Yang Deficiency. It is suitable to take Shiquan Dabu Tang (Ten Substance Great Tonifying Decoction) to warm and tonify, and externally apply Huiyang Yulong Gao (Return Yang Jade Dragon Plaster). If the face is overly red with severe irritability, dry mouth but no thirst, and moist lips, this indicates floating false fire due to Yang Deficiency. It is suitable to take Guifu Dihuang Wan (Cinnamon and Aconite Rehmannia Pill) to guide fire back to its source. Additionally, place raw Fuzi Bing (Aconite Cake) on the Yongquan Acupoints (KI1) of both soles, moxibustion five Zhuang each, to vent the toxin. At the initial stage, apply Hupo Gao (Amber Plaster); after ulceration, use Shenhuang Lingyao (Ginseng and Yellow Calomel Medicine), covered with Taiyi Gao (Supreme Emperor Plaster); after necrotic tissue is completely eliminated, change to flesh-generating medicines for treatment. If the swelling connects to the ears and neck, phlegm sounds like sawing, no pus forms and does not ulcerate within seven days, and consciousness is clouded, life will be lost.
