The text describes the formation of phlegm nodules (Phlegm Nodules) on the eyelids, caused by the accumulation of phlegm and fire. The nodules are bean-shaped, hard, and painless. If left untreated, they may develop into goiter (Goiter) or fistulas with pus and blood discharge. The treatment involves Fangfeng Sanjie Tang (Wind-Dispersing Nodule-Resolving Decoction), containing Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Hei Shen (Scrophulariae Radix, also known as Xuan Shen), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Zhe Bei Mu (Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus), Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), and Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix).
Formula: Fangfeng Sanjie Tang (Wind-Dispersing Nodule-Resolving Decoction)
Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Hei Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Zhe Bei Mu (Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus), Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix), each 8 fen.
Crush these herbs into coarse powder. Add two cups of water and decoct until one cup remains. Strain and take warm after meals.
Note: [1] The condition of phlegm nodules on the eyelid is caused by the aggregation of phlegm and fire. It appears outside the eye socket, presenting as a subcutaneous nodule bean-sized, hard, and painless. Fangfeng Sanjie Tang (Wind-Dispersing Nodule-Resolving Decoction) should be used to resolve phlegm and clear heat.
[2] If untreated for a long time, it may gradually enlarge into a goiter (Goiter). Once ulcerated, it forms a fistula, which is difficult to cure.

The text describes Lei Tou Feng (Thunderhead Wind), characterized by roaring sounds in the head like thunder and wind. Heat-toxin rises to the eyes, causing changes in pupil color due to the downward flow of brain fluid. The pupils may vary in size, leading to blurred vision. For excess patterns, Xie Gan San (Liver-Draining Powder) is indicated, containing Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Mang Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Hei Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), and Long Dan Cao (Gentianae Radix). For deficiency patterns, Cishi Wan (Magnet Pill) is indicated, containing Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), Hei Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex), and Ci Shi (Magnetitum).
Formula: Xie Gan San (Liver-Draining Powder)
Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Mang Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Hei Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Che Qian Zi (Plantaginis Semen), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), each 1 qian; Long Dan Cao (Gentianae Radix) 5 fen.
Crush these herbs into coarse powder. Add two cups of water and decoct until one cup remains. Strain and take warm after meals.
Cishi Wan (Magnet Pill) Formula
Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) 1 liang, Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed) 5 qian, Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) half liang, Hei Shen (Scrophulariae Radix) 1 liang, Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex) 1 liang, Ci Shi (Magnetitum, calcined red and quenched in vinegar three times) 1 liang.
Grind these herbs into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of tung seeds. Take 1 qian before meals, washed down with clear tea.
Note: [1] Lei Tou Feng (Thunderhead Wind) affecting the interior of the eye initially presents with exposure to cold or heat on the head and face. Toxic qi rushes into the head, causing internal roaring sounds like wind and thunder, accompanied by dizziness and fever. Over time, the toxin affects the eyes, brain fluid flows downward, causing discoloration of the pupil and irregular pupil size.
[2] Excess patterns should be treated with Xie Gan San (Liver-Draining Powder); deficiency patterns should be treated with Cishi Wan (Magnet Pill).
