The Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian consists of fourteen acupoints: Dadun (LR1), Xingjian (LR2), Taichong (LR3), Zhongfeng (LR4), Ligou (LR5), Zhongdu (LR6), Xiguan (LR7), Ququan (LR8), Yinbao (LR9), Wuli (LR10), Yinlian (LR11), Jimai (LR12), Zhangmen (LR13), and Qimen (LR14).
Dadun is located at the lateral side of the tip of the great toe; Xingjian is situated in the webbing between the first and second toes; Taichong is two cun posterior to the base of the first metatarsal bone; Zhongfeng is one cun anterior to the medial malleolus; Ligou is five cun above the medial malleolus; Zhongdu is two cun above Ligou; Xiguan is two cun below Dubi (ST35); Ququan is at the end of the transverse crease of the knee when flexed. Yinbao is four cun above the knee; Wuli is three cun below Qichong (ST30); Yinlian is two cun below Qichong; Jimai is two and a half cun lateral to the pubic hairline. The large collateral of the Jueyin meridian connects with the testis. Zhangmen is located two cun above the umbilicus and six cun lateral to it; Qimen extends obliquely from Zhangmen towards the breast, ending directly below the nipple at the lateral end of the second intercostal space.
Notes:
[1] Dadun (LR1) is located at the tip of the big toe, approximately the width of a leek leaf distal to the nail, in the center of the hairy area on the lateral side.
[2] Moving upward from Dadun to the gap between the first and second toes at the junction of the metatarsal bones, where the arterial pulse is palpable in a depression, is Xingjian (LR2).
[3] Moving upward from Xingjian by approximately two cun, where the arterial pulse is palpable in a depression on the dorsum of the foot, is Taichong (LR3).
[4] Moving upward from Taichong to one cun anterior to the medial malleolus, within the depression surrounded by tendons, is Zhongfeng (LR4).
[5] From Zhongfeng moving upward to five cun above the medial malleolus is Ligou (LR5).
[6] Two cun above Ligou, at the midpoint of the tibia, is Zhongdu (LR6).
[7] Moving upward from Zhongdu, in the depression two cun lateral to Dubi (ST35), is Xiguan (LR7).
[8] Moving upward from Xiguan to the depression below the medial condyle of the femur, between the larger and smaller tendons, locate Ququan (LR8) at the head of the transverse crease with the knee flexed.
[9] Four cun above Ququan, between the two tendons on the medial aspect of the thigh, locate Yinbao (LR9) while the foot is curled, observing the groove-like structure on the medial side of the knee.
[10] Moving upward from Yinbao, three cun below Qichong (ST30) of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian, where the arterial pulse is palpable in the medial thigh, is Wuli (LR10).
[11] Moving upward from Wuli, below the "sheep's arrow" (inguinal fat/lymph node region), slanting inward by three fen, and two cun below Qichong where the arterial pulse is palpable in a depression, is Yinlian (LR11).
[12] Moving upward from Yinlian to the upper genital region, two and a half cun lateral to the midline, pressing reveals hardness; severe pressure causes pain radiating up and down. This is the large collateral of the Jueyin meridian, serving as the ligament of the testis, which is Jimai (LR12).
[13] Moving upward from Jimai, outside the Dahan (SP15) of the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian, at the cartilaginous end of the costal arch opposite the umbilicus, two cun above the umbilicus and six cun lateral, locate Zhangmen (LR13) by placing the elbow tip at the end of the lateral decubitus position.
[14] Moving upward from Zhangmen, one and a half cun lateral to Burong (ST19) of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian, directly above the nipple at the end of the second rib, is Qimen (LR14) (see Figure 73).
