毒热在体内盛大并向上炎蒸，扰乱心神与胃腑，导致心烦和口渴加重。疹子未出时，宜用升麻葛根汤加味；疹子已出时，以白虎汤为首选；疹子消退后出现烦渴，应用竹叶石膏汤。因时制宜进行治疗，不要延误时机。

凡是出麻疹伴随心烦口渴的，都是毒热壅盛所致。因为心被热邪扰乱则产生烦躁，胃被热邪郁结则产生口渴。当疹子尚未发出时，适宜使用升麻葛根汤加入麦冬、天花粉；疹子已经发出的，适宜使用白虎汤；疹子消退后出现烦渴的，使用竹叶石膏汤。

Measles have erupted but the body remains hot; this is due to the congestion and obstruction of toxic heat. When the rash is erupting, use Huadu Qingbiao Jia (Detoxifying and Surface-Clearing Agent); after the rash subsides, use Chaihu Qingre Jian (Bupleurum Heat-Clearing Decoction).

Measles require heat to erupt. If the rash has fully emerged, the fever should subside. If high fever persists, it indicates excessive toxic heat causing congestion and obstruction; Shihua Qingbiao Tang (Transform Toxin and Clear Exterior Decoction) is appropriate for treatment. If the rash has subsided and fallen off but the body remains hot, this indicates residual heat lingering in the muscle layer; Chaihu Qingre Yin (Bupleurum Heat-Clearing Drink) is appropriate for treatment.

Before eruption, use Shengma Gegen Tang (Ephedra and Pueraria Decoction) with modifications; after eruption, Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) is the priority; after subsidence, Zhuye Shigao Tang (Bamboo Leaf and Gypsum Decoction) is used. Treat according to the timing; do not delay.

Irritability and thirst accompanying measles are caused by congested and excessive toxic heat. The Heart disturbed by heat causes irritability; the Stomach constrained by heat causes thirst. Before eruption, Shengma Gegen Tang (Ephedra and Pueraria Decoction) added with Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Radix) and Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix) is suitable. After eruption, Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) is suitable. After subsidence with irritability and thirst, Zhuye Shigao Tang (Bamboo Leaf and Gypsum Decoction) is used.
