也;)聋;龀(龀,齿败破者;)龋(龋者,虫食齿;)瘰; ;瘿;瘤;痔; 唇;癫;
The *Chan Jing* states: Three days after birth, an infant may be given the Cinnabar Honey Formula (Zhumi Fang) to stabilize the spirit and soul. True cinnabar (Zhu Sha) should be refined and ground until the particles are as large as soybeans. Mix this with one KT shell of red honey (Chi Mi). Wrap cotton around a finger, dip it into the mixture, and allow the infant to suckle. Stop after three dips; administer within one day. The dosage is approximately slightly more than one soybean. If administered for three consecutive days, use slightly more than three soybeans. Do not exceed this amount, as overdose will harm the infant.
Current analysis: The *Duan Ju Fang* states: It is inadvisable to use excessive amounts, as this may cause coldness in the spleen and stomach, leading to abdominal distension.
The *Chan Jing* states: After the administration of Cinnabar Honey is completed, Rhinoceros Horn Substitute (Niuhuang, specifically Calculus Bovis) may be given. Calculus Bovis benefits the liver and gallbladder, clears heat, calms fright, and dispels evil qi. The preparation method is identical to that of Cinnabar Honey, and the dosage is exactly the same. (The *Duan Ju Fang* concurs.)
The *Chan Jing* states: When breastfeeding an infant, the mother should rest her arm on a pillow so that the nipple is level with the infant's mouth. If the posture is incorrect, it may cause the infant to choke.
When breastfeeding, residual milk should be expressed first before feeding the infant fresh milk; otherwise, it may cause vomiting or diarrhea.
Before breastfeeding, the mother should press the breast to dissipate heat; otherwise, forceful milk flow into the infant's throat may cause respiratory distress and illness.
If the mother feels drowsy during breastfeeding, she should stop, lest she cover the infant's nose and mouth. Additionally, if the mother is unaware of whether the infant is full, it may lead to infant exhaustion.
Infants should not be overfed at one sitting; overfeeding causes vomiting. If vomiting occurs, continuing to feed from an empty breast aids digestion. In summer, failing to remove "hot" milk before feeding causes vomiting and regurgitation; in winter, failing to remove "cold" milk causes coughing and dysentery.
If the mother feeds the infant immediately after a full meal, the infant may experience wheezing, fever, and abdominal distension.
If the mother feeds the infant immediately after sexual intercourse, the infant may become emaciated, unable to walk due to weak limbs, and may even die.
If the mother feeds the infant while intoxicated, the infant may develop fever, abdominal distension, and potentially fatal conditions.
If the mother feeds the infant while angry, the infant is prone to Qi Hernia (Qi Shan Bing).
If the mother has internal heat and feeds the infant, the infant may develop jaundice and anorexia.
If the mother is ill and feeds the infant, the infant may develop epilepsy or mania.
If the mother feeds the infant immediately after vomiting or purging, the infant may become weak and emaciated.
If a nursing mother consumes pork, chicken, fresh fish, or placenta shortly after the infant's birth, the infant may suffer from severe diarrhea (Dong Xie).
It is most dangerous for a nursing mother who is heavily intoxicated or panting after intercourse to breastfeed; this can be fatal, so caution is essential.
Human emotions and spiritual constitution are all shaped by the milk received. Therefore, breastfeeding requires utmost care. Mothers with yellow hair, black teeth, large eyes, hoarse voices, or turbid eyes exhibit signs of licentiousness. Those with prominent cervical vertebrae, long noses, large mouths, and hairy arms and legs show signs of inner discontent. Those with ugly hands and feet, thick skin, strong bones, irregular teeth, bad breath, and crimson-red complexions exhibit masculine traits. Those with chronically cold bodies, lack of luster, rough skin, muscle wasting, and thinness show signs of chronic illness.
Other conditions include axillary osmidrosis (constant damp, smelly sweat); fox odor (body malodor); tinea capitis (white ringworm); frequent skin sores (sores at joints; prickly heat); voice failure (hoarseness); cough; nasal polyps; deafness; tooth decay (broken teeth); dental caries (cavities); scrofula; goiter; tumors; hemorrhoids; cleft lip; epilepsy; vertigo; and convulsions. These are considered ugly disease manifestations.
Furthermore, if the nursing mother's zodiac year does not clash with the infant's, she may breastfeed despite these negative physical signs. Failure to follow this rule harms the infant and brings misfortune.
Infants should not be overfed at one sitting; overfeeding causes vomiting.
