According to the *Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun* (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases): Feng Chuang (Wind Sores) is caused by wind pathogenic factors invading the meridians, leading to the accumulation and stagnation of Qi and blood within the meridians.
The *Jing Xin Fang* records a prescription for treating Feng Chuang (Wind Sores) and Shu Lou (Rat Fistula):
Take 7–8 jin of Sang Bai Pi (Cortex Mori), finely chopped, add 2 dou of water, decoct to obtain 1 dou of liquid, then further concentrate by boiling to obtain 2.5 sheng of liquid. Take this in one dose; the parasitic condition will heal.
Another prescription: Burn leaves of Di Huang Ye (Folium Rehmanniae), apply the ash topically to the affected area until healed.
Yet another prescription: Take 1 sheng of Xing Ren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum), cook thoroughly, pound into a paste, mix with fresh pig fat, and apply externally.
The *Qian Jin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) records prescriptions for Feng Chuang (Wind Sores) and Shu Lou (Rat Fistula):
Chi Dou (Semen Phaseoli Uradis), Bai Lian (Radix Pseudostellariae), Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae), Mu Li (Concha Ostreae).
Mix these four herbs in equal proportions. Administer 1 fang cun bi (a square-inch measure) with wine, three times daily.
According to the *Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun*: Nei Zhi (Internal Hemorrhoids) refers to sores that appear black with hard nodules, form pus internally, and eventually ulcerate after a long period, eroding into tendons and bones. This is termed Nei Zhi (Internal Hemorrhoids).
The *Long Men Fang* records a prescription for treating Nei Zhi (Internal Hemorrhoids):
Take 10 liang of Huai Bai Pi (Cortex Sophorae Flavescentis), pound it, form pills, wrap them in silk cloth, and insert them into the anal region to verify efficacy.
Another prescription: Decoct Qiu Ye (Folium Aesculi) until thickened into a paste suitable for forming pills. Insert into the anal region using a bamboo tube; this cures Ha Zhi (Clam Hemorrhoids), Zhi (Hemorrhoids), and other fistulas.
According to the the *Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun*: While all fistulas produce pus, those specifically named "Nong" (Pus/Suppuration) arise because chronic sores fail to heal and become fistulas, which are then aggravated by heat pathogens. Toxic qi stagnates and generates pus continuously, hence the name Nong Lou (Pus-Draining Fistula).
The *Qian Jin Fang* contains a prescription for Nong Lou (Pus-Draining Fistula):
Grind Tao Hua (Flos Persicae) into powder, mix with pig fat, and apply externally.
Another prescription: Mix Yan (Salt) with flour, burn to ash, and apply externally.
The *Long Men Fang* records a method to drain pus:
Place Shi Liu Huang (Sulfur) powder into the wound opening, and apply moxibustion immediately for verified results.
The *Ben Cao* (Materia Medica) records a method to drain pus:
Boil the leaves of Yang Lu Mu (Wood of Populus/Larix species) in water to extract juice. Wash the affected area with it for immediate cure.
According to the *Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun*: Leng Lou (Cold Fistula) occurs when various sores are exposed to wind-cold pathogens, fail to heal over time, develop into fistulas, and discharge continuous pus. Hence, it is called Leng Lou (Cold Fistula).
The *Qian Jin Fang* records a general prescription for all types of Leng Lou (Cold Fistula):
Burn the ashes of Ascarids expelled from human vomit. First wash the lesion with Gan Cao Tang (Licorice Decoction), then apply the ash. There is no case that does not heal; observe dietary restrictions strictly.
According to the *Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun*: Dan Du (Erysipelas/Dan Toxin) is characterized by sudden redness of the body resembling applied cinnabar, thus named Dan (Red). It may appear on hands and feet or abdomen, sized like a palm, caused by wind-heat and malignant toxins. Severe cases belong to the category of Ju (Carbuncle/Furuncle); if not treated promptly, severe pain ensues. Over time, tissue necrosis occurs, discharging several sheng of pus and blood. If it appears at joints, toxins spread to the limbs; if entering the abdomen, it can be fatal. It is particularly dangerous for children.
Furthermore: Bai Dan (White Dan) initially presents with itching and pain, slight swelling, resembling wind-rash blisters. The lesions rise but are neither painful nor red, appearing white. This is due to the presence of wind-cold, causing the white color.
Hei Dan (Black Dan) also initially presents with itching and pain, or swelling, with a slightly blackish hue. This is also due to wind-cold, resulting in black discoloration.
Chi Dan (Red Dan) initially presents with raised rashes. Large ones resemble linked coins; small ones resemble hemp seeds. The skin surface has granular elevations resembling chicken comb texture. This redness is caused by severe wind-toxin. It is also known as Zhu Yu Dan (Cornel Dan). "Zhen" (Rash) refers to eruptions where skin color remains unchanged, without heat, presenting as hidden rashes that are connected and mildly itchy, hence termed Dan Zhen (Dan Rash).
Shi Huo Dan (Room Fire Dan) always appears initially on the calf muscles (Fei Chang), about finger-thick, 2–3 cun long, with red and hot skin.
Tian Zao Huo Dan (Heaven Stove Fire Dan) appears between the inner thighs near the femoral artery, extending to the glans penis with redness and swelling.
Fei Zao Huo Dan (Abandoned Stove Fire Dan) appears on the dorsum of the foot, with red skin.
Niao Zao Huo Dan (Urine Stove Fire Dan) appears on the chest, abdomen, and umbilicus, connecting to the glans penis with redness.
Yan Huo Dan (Smoke Fire Dan) appears on the back and both arms, with red skin.
Huo Dan (Fire Dan) appears on the thighs, wandering unpredictably, with redness at the site of attachment.
Ying Huo Dan (Firefly Dan) appears from the iliac region to the hypochondrium, with red skin.
Shi Huo Dan (Stone Fire Dan) appears all over the body, resembling patterned silk. Raised bumps resemble millet grains, with blue-black skin color.
The *Duan Ju Fang* states: Dan Du (Erysipelas) is also called Tian Huo (Heaven Fire). Sudden red patches appear in the flesh like applied cinnabar. Large patches are palm-sized; severe cases cover the whole body. Some present with pain, itching, and mild swelling. Prescription:
Take 2 sheng of Chi Xiao Dou (Semen Phaseoli Angularis), pound and sieve. Mix with egg white to form a mud-like paste. Apply to the area; reapply as it dries, moving with the hand to gradually dissipate the rash. For full-body involvement, double the dosage and exhaust it. Additionally, administer Lou Lu Tang (Aralia Decoction).
Lou Lu Tang Prescription:

Ten ingredients in total. Coarsely crush, add 1 dou of water, decoct to obtain 3 sheng. Divide into three doses. In remote areas lacking medicines, adjust according to availability. Also use subsequent single-herb methods.
If Feng Zhen (Sharp Needle) is used to bleed the area before applying medication, the effect is excellent.
Adjustments: If Lou Lu is unavailable, use 10 Zhi Zi (Fructus Gardeniae); if Bai Shao is unavailable, it may be omitted; if Huang Qin is unavailable, use Zhi Zi instead; if both Lou Lu and Huang Qin are unavailable, using only Zhi Zi is sufficient; if Sheng Ma is unavailable, use Xi Jiao (Cornu Bubali) shards; if Xi Jiao is unavailable, use She Xian (Herba Siegesbeckiae); if Da Huang is unavailable, use Mang Xiao (Natrii Sulfas); if Ma Huang is unavailable, use Ge Gen (Radix Puerariae); if Ge Gen is unavailable, use Shi Gao (Gypsum Fibrosum); if Bai Wei is unavailable, use Zhi Mu (Rhizoma Anemarrhenae); if Zhi Mu is unavailable, use Wei Rui (Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati); if Wei Rui is unavailable, use Zhi Shi; Xi Yao and Gan Cao may be omitted; if no other herbs are available, using Da Huang alone is also highly effective.
Sheng Ma Tang treats Dan Zhen (Dan Rash) and various toxic swellings with exudation:
