When the pubic symphysis fails to separate, it is due to blood deficiency preventing the Qi and Blood from reaching the area, thus causing the birth canal to remain closed. In this case, a midwife should mix talcum powder (Hua Shi) with sesame oil and apply it inside the birth canal.
Alternatively, administer the following prescription:
Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 5 qian), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 3 qian), Zi Bai Gui Ban (Plastri Testudinis et Carapacis Trionycis, roasted in child's urine until crisp, 3 qian), Fu Ren Fa Tui (Cinis Capillorum Humani, burnt to ash retaining its properties, one handful).

Postpartum diseases are complex. The *Jin Gui Yao Lue* summarizes them into three main conditions: first, spasm (Jing); second, depression and dizziness (Yu Mao); third, difficulty in defecation (Da Bian Nan).
If there is mental cloudiness, phlegm turbidity, and Qi rebelling upward to the Stomach, symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, fullness, abdominal distension, and pain may occur. These can be treated with Shixiao San and Ping Wei San. If abdominal distension is accompanied by vomiting and belching, it indicates that stagnant blood has transformed into fluid retention, which signifies a severe condition.
In cases of traumatic injury causing blood stasis, or in patients with a constitution prone to heat, warmth should be maintained. Continuously administer Sheng...
