Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Astragali Radix (Huangqi), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Poria (Fuling), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishaoyao), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Cinnamomi Cortex (Rougui), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (Shudihuang).
For eruptive diseases lasting more than ten days with deficiency of Qi and Blood, this formula is indicated.
Ginseng Radix, Astragali Radix, Poria, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma greatly tonify Qi. Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, and Cinnamomi Cortex greatly tonify Blood. Since both Qi and Blood are balanced and tonified, it is called "Shiquan" (Ten Complete).
Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baked with wine, 1 qian):
Grind into fine powder, mix with wine and take orally.
When the pustules are full of fluid but pain caused by blood stasis is unbearable, this formula is indicated.
In various diseases, itching indicates deficiency, while pain indicates excess. Itching is suitable for tonification, while pain is suitable for purgation. This pain is due to blood excess and stagnation; therefore, Paeoniae Radix Alba is used to calm the blood, and wine is used to promote circulation and resolve stagnation.
Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Cinnamomi Cortex (Guigui), Corydalis Rhizoma (Yanhusuo) (equal parts):
Grind into powder, mix with wine and take 1 qian orally.
For lower back pain caused by blood stagnation, this formula is indicated.
Angelicae Sinensis Radix invigorates blood, Cinnamomi Cortex disperses blood stasis, and Corydalis Rhizoma regulates blood qi. When blood flows freely, pain is relieved, and lower back pain naturally disappears.
Pearl (Zhenzhu), Ash of Pisum Sativum Seed (Wandouhui), Ash of Human Hair (Xueyuhui) (each 5 fen), Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian) (3 li):
Apply externally mixed with oil and red lacquer (Yanzhi).
For pustules developing into carbuncles (Ding), this formula is indicated.
Any pustule that is uniquely black, uniquely white, uniquely depressed, or uniquely painful is named "Pustule Carbuncle" (Dou Ding). Although it can be pricked with a needle and the foul blood sucked out, applying this medicine is necessary; if treated improperly, the remaining pustules will all become depressed. Pearl can expel toxins and relieve pain; the two ashes can rot toxins and transform blood; red lacquer can promote blood flow and draw out toxins; Borneolum Syntheticum can open orifices and promote circulation.
Human Tooth (one piece, calcined until carbonized but retaining efficacy), Moschus (Shexiang) (a small amount):
Grind together into powder, mix with wine and take orally.
For eruptive diseases presenting with blackening and depression, this formula is indicated.
Eruptive diseases, when affected by external foul pathogens, tend to depress inward; when affected by internal consumption of foul substances, they tend to protrude outward. Human tooth ash and Moschus are also considered foul substances; thus, they are used to lift and support depressed pustules. Qian Yi stated: "Blackening returns to the Kidney," and using bone remnants to treat it is not a comprehensive theory.
Mantis Ootheca (Chantui), Cortex Lycii (Digupi), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi) (equal parts):
Take 3-5 fen per dose, mix with wine and take orally.
For exterior wind-heat causing dullness in the color of pustules, this formula is indicated.
Mantis Ootheca and Angelicae Dahuricae Radix dissipate wind-heat from the exterior, while Cortex Lycii clears wind-heat from the interior.
