Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) two liang, Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) one liang, Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) one piece.
Each dose is five qian. Decoct with five slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and one Zao (Jujubae Fructus).
This is a medicine for treating Shen Feng (Wind affecting the Kidney). The Kidney is an organ of Water; when it receives Fire, it becomes balanced, and turbid Yin naturally recedes. If the dizziness is caused by Gan Feng (Liver Wind), then blood-nourishing formulas should be used.
Misusing this formula will cause Wind and Fire to contend with each other, making the disease more severe; this must not be overlooked.
Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Radix), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma).
Decoct with Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), Zao (Jujubae Fructus), and Cong Bai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus). Add one spoonful of Tong Bian (Child's Urine), take cold.
Dai Yang syndrome refers to Yin failing to hold Yang, causing deficient Yang to float upward, with a pulse that is faint and nearly imperceptible. If mistakenly treated as a Heat syndrome, deterioration will occur immediately. This formula uses Jiang (Ginger), Fu (Aconite), and Ai Ye (Mugwort Leaf).
Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) 5 fen, Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Fu Ling (Poria) 1 qian, Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) 7 fen, Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 2 fen.
Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) nine grains.
Decoct with Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), mix with She Xiang (Moschus) 3 li, and take. For absent pulse, add Zhu Dan Zhi (Porci Bile); for diarrhea, add Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) and Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix); for vomiting, add Jiang Zhi (Zingiberis Juice); for spitting saliva and foam, add Yan Chao Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus salt-fried).
This formula is suitable for treating mild cases of Zhong Han (Cold invading the Middle Jiao). However, if claimed for emergency rescue, the combination of Jiang (Ginger) and Fu (Aconite) with Liu Jun Zi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction) and Wu Wei Zi (Schisandra) restricts the potency of Jiang and Fu. It is inferior to Si Ni Tang (Frigid Extremities Decoction), which can break through barriers and seize the gate (act decisively and rapidly).
Po Gu Zhi (Euosmae Semen Praeparatum) four liang, soaked in wine overnight and stir-fried; Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus) three liang, stir-fried; Rou Dou Kou (Myristicae Semen Praeparatum) two liang, baked in flour; Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus) one liang, soaked in salt water.
Use one hundred Zao (Jujubae Fructus) and eight liang of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), sliced and boiled together until soft. Remove the ginger, take the jujube flesh, pound into pills. Each dose is two qian, taken before bed with salt water.
Ming Men (Gate of Life) is the fire used daily, which steams and warms the Spleen and Stomach to transform and transport grain and food. If it is Shen Xie (Kidney Diarrhea), Er Shen Wan (Two Spirits Pill) is appropriate. If it is Pi Xie (Spleen Diarrhea), and it is caused by Wood overacting on Earth, then Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus) can disperse Qi from the Jueyin channel, thereby suppressing Wood; this is acceptable. Otherwise, it is better to remove Wu Wei Zi and Wu Zhu Yu, and add Hui Xiang (Foeniculi Fructus) and Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix) for a superior effect.
