Treats colds in all four seasons, characterized by headache and fever, or accompanied by internal injury with fullness and oppression in the chest and diaphragm, belching, and anorexia. (*Huangdi Neijing* states: In low-lying and damp areas, the Qi of Spring is perpetually present. Therefore, in the low and damp regions of the southeast, the wind and Qi are gentle, making one susceptible to Wind-Cold invasion. Commonly known as "Ganmao" (Cold), it refers to a condition where pathogenic factors invade superficially. The pathogen enters through the nose, resides in the upper part, and lodges in the skin; thus, there are no typical manifestations of the Six Channels, only fever and headache. Fullness in the chest, belching, and anorexia indicate concurrent internal injury. Mild cases are termed Ganmao.)
Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma, stir-fried), Zisu (Perillae Folium, 2 qian), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, white pith removed, 1 qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 7 fen). Decoct with Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and Congbai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus). If caused by food stagnation, add herbs for digestion and guiding out stagnation; if sweating is required, add Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba) and Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma); if due to Wind damage...
This prescription acts on the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian. Zisu disperses exterior Cold and unblocks exterior Qi; Xiangfu promotes interior Qi movement and resolves interior obstruction; Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum) assists by acting on both exterior and interior. (Juhong regulates Qi and can also release the exterior and disperse Cold; generally, when Qi moves, Cold dissipates, and food digestion improves. Gancao harmonizes the Middle Jiao and can also release the exterior, serving as the envoy herb.)

This prescription acts on the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian, Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian, Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian, and Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian. Zhizi and Danshi (Sojae Preparata) constitute Zhichi Tang; combined with Changshan, they induce vomiting; combined with Xingren, they resolve muscle-layer pathogens. Dahuang and Mangxiao constitute Chengqi Tang, which purges Heat and eliminates excess; combined with Yinchen, they promote urination to resolve dampness and clear jaundice (these three herbs form Yichen Tang, the primary formula for treating jaundice). Added with the intensely hot Badou to dispel accumulated Cold in the Zang-Fu organs, and added with Biejia to nourish Yin and resolve Cold-Heat in the Blood level. This formula encompasses the methods of Sweating, Vomiting, and Purging, thus capable of managing various...
When pathogens are at the Exterior, Sweating is appropriate; when at the Upper Jiao, Vomiting is appropriate; when at the Interior, Purging is appropriate. When pathogens are in the Half-Exterior Half-Interior, treatment should focus on the Middle Jiao, utilizing Harmonization. Therefore, Zhang Zhongjing warned against using Sweating, Vomiting, and Purging for Shaoyang syndrome. Ancient sages stated: In some febrile diseases, if the pulse is rapid and vigorous but sweating does not occur, this represents the extreme of Yang pulses, indicating death. However, there are cases where Harmonization is indicated... Formula,
