通窍活血汤所治之病，开列于后。
伤寒、瘟病后头发脱落，名医书皆言伤血，不知皮里肉外血瘀，阻塞血路，新血不能养
发，故发脱落。无病脱发，亦是血瘀。用药三副，发不脱，十副必长新发。
眼疼白珠红，俗名暴发火眼。血为火烧，凝于目珠，故白珠红色。无论有云翳，无云翳
，先将此药吃一副，后吃加味止痛没药散，一日二副，三两日必痊愈。
色红是瘀血，无论三二十年，此方服三副可见效，二三十副可痊愈。舍此之外，并无验
方。
耳孔内小管通脑，管外有瘀血靠挤，管闭，故耳聋。晚服此方，早服通气散，一日两副
，三二十年耳聋可愈。
血瘀于皮里，服三五副可不散漫，再服三十副可痊。
脸如打伤血印，色紫成片，或满脸皆紫，皆血瘀所致。如三五年，十副可愈；若十余年
，三二十副必愈。
血瘀症，长于天庭者多，三十副可愈。白癜、紫癜、紫印、青记，自古无良方者，不知
病源也。
牙者，骨之余；养牙者，血也。伤寒、瘟疫、痘疹、痞块，皆能烧血，血瘀牙床紫，血
死牙床黑，血死牙脱，人岂能活？再用凉药凝血，是促其死也。遇此症，将此药晚服一副，
早服血府逐瘀汤一副，白日煎黄 八钱，徐徐服之，一日服完。一日三副，三日可见效，十
日大见效，一月可痊愈。纵然牙脱五七个，不穿腮者，皆可活。
通窍活血汤所治疗的病症，列举如下。
伤寒、瘟疫病后出现头发脱落的情况，名医著作中都说这是伤血所致，却不知道这是因为皮里肉外有血瘀，阻塞了血脉通道，导致新血无法滋养头发，所以头发脱落。没有患病而脱发的情况，也是由于血瘀。服用此药三副，头发不再脱落；服用十副，必定会长出新发。
眼睛疼痛，眼白部分发红，俗称暴发火眼。血液被火热灼烧，凝结在眼球上，所以眼白呈现红色。无论是否有云翳（角膜混浊），先服用此药一副，随后服用加味止痛没药散，每天服用两副，两三天内必定痊愈。
颜色发红是瘀血的表现，无论病程长达三二十年，此方服用三副即可见效，服用二三十副可以痊愈。除此之外，并没有其他有效的验方。
耳孔内的小管通向脑部，小管外部如果有瘀血挤压，导致小管闭塞，就会造成耳聋。晚上服用此方，早上服用通气散，每天各服一副，即使是三二十年的耳聋也可以治愈。
瘀血停留在皮里，服用三五副药可以使瘀血不散漫扩散，再服用三十副药可以痊愈。
瘀血停留在肤里，治疗方法参照白癜风的治疗原则，没有不随手取得疗效的。
脸部像被打伤后的血印，颜色紫暗成片，或者满脸都是紫色，这都是血瘀导致的。如果是三五年前的旧伤，服用十副可以痊愈；如果是十余年前的旧伤，服用二三十副必定痊愈。
血瘀症，长在额头天庭部位的较多，服用三十副可以痊愈。白癜风、紫癜、紫印、青记（青色胎记或斑痕），自古以来没有良方，是因为不知道疾病的根源。
牙齿，是骨骼的余气所生；滋养牙齿的是血液。伤寒、瘟疫、痘疹、痞块等疾病，都能煎熬血液，导致血液瘀滞使牙床变紫，血液凝固死亡使牙床变黑，血液枯竭死亡导致牙齿脱落，人怎么能存活呢？如果再使用寒凉药物使血液凝滞，就是加速其死亡。遇到这种情况，晚上服用此药一副，早上服用血府逐瘀汤一副，白天煎煮黄芪八钱，慢慢服用，一天之内服完。一天共服用三副药，三天可见效，十天大见成效，一个月可以痊愈。纵然牙齿脱落五七个，只要不穿腮（牙龈溃烂穿孔），都可以保住性命。
The diseases treated by Tongqiao Huoxue Decoction are listed below.
Hair loss after Shanghan (Cold Damage) or Wenyi (Plague/Epidemic diseases): Famous physicians' books all state that this is due to blood injury, but they do not realize that blood stasis in the subcutaneous tissue and outside the skin blocks the blood vessels, preventing new blood from nourishing the hair, thus causing hair loss. Hair loss without illness is also due to blood stasis. After taking three doses of this medicine, hair loss will stop; after ten doses, new hair will certainly grow.
Eye pain with redness of the sclera, commonly known as "Bao Fa Huo Yan" (Sudden Fire Eye). The blood is scorched by fire-heat and coagulates in the eyeball, causing the sclera to turn red. Regardless of whether there is a nebula (corneal opacity) or not, first take one dose of this medicine, then take Jiawei Zhitong Moyao San (Modified Pain-Relieving Myrrh Powder), two doses per day, and recovery will surely occur within two or three days.
Redness indicates blood stasis. Regardless of whether the condition has lasted for thirty or twenty years, this formula will show effects after three doses and can achieve a cure after twenty to thirty doses. Apart from this, there are no other verified prescriptions.
The small tube inside the ear hole connects to the brain. If blood stasis presses against the outside of the tube, closing it, deafness results. Take this formula at night and Tongqi San (Qi-Ventilating Powder) in the morning, one dose each, twice daily. Deafness lasting for thirty or twenty years can be cured.
Blood stasis in the subcutaneous layer: Taking three to five doses can prevent it from spreading; taking another thirty doses can lead to a cure.
Blood stasis in the dermal layer: The treatment method follows that of Vitiligo (Bai Dian Feng), and efficacy is invariably achieved promptly.
The face resembling a bruise from a blow, with purple patches covering the area or the entire face being purple, is caused by blood stasis. If the condition has persisted for three to five years, ten doses can cure it; if it has persisted for over ten years, twenty to thirty doses will certainly cure it.
Blood stasis syndromes often appear on the Tian Ting (Forehead/Upper Forehead region); thirty doses can cure them. Vitiligo, Purpura, Purple Marks, and Green Marks (Cyan Birthmarks/Spots) have lacked effective prescriptions since ancient times because the source of the disease was unknown.
Teeth are the surplus of bones; blood is what nourishes teeth. Shanghan, Wenyi, Variola (Smallpox), and Pi Kuai (Abdominal Masses) can all scorch the blood. Blood stasis turns the gums purple; blood death turns the gums black; blood death causes tooth loss. How can a person survive? Using cold-natured medicines to coagulate the blood further accelerates death. In such cases, take one dose of this medicine at night and one dose of Xuefu Zhuyu Tang (Drive Out Stasis in the Mansion of Blood Decoction) in the morning. During the day, decoct Huang Qi (Astragalus Root) eight qian, and consume it slowly throughout the day, finishing all three doses within one day. Effects can be seen in three days, significant improvement in ten days, and full recovery in one month. Even if five or seven teeth fall out, as long as the cheek does not perforate (gum ulceration leading to perforation), life can be saved.
