Yi Huan was a Qin person during the Spring and Autumn period, and his surname is unknown. Duke Dao of Jin fell ill and sought medical treatment from Qin. Bo Zhe sent Yi Huan to treat him. Before Yi Huan arrived, Duke Dao dreamed of two children saying to each other, "That is a good doctor; he fears injuring us, so we must flee." One said, "I reside above the diaphragm (Huang), and you below the heart (Gao); what can he do to us?" When Yi Huan arrived, he told the Duke, "This disease cannot be cured. It lies above the diaphragm and below the heart. Acupuncture cannot reach it, and medicinal herbs cannot penetrate it; therefore, it is incurable." The Duke said, "Truly a good doctor," and sent him away with rich gifts.
Yi He was also a Qin person from the Spring and Autumn period, and his surname is unknown. Duke Ping of Jin fell ill and sought medical treatment from Qin. Bo Zhe sent Yi He to examine him. Wen Zhi was a good doctor from Song State during the Spring and Autumn period. He had profound knowledge of medicine and also possessed unusual skills. Long Shuzi said to him, "Your medical skills are subtle. I have an illness; can you cure it?" Wen Zhi instructed Long Shuzi to stand with his back to the light, while Wen Zhi viewed his heart from behind facing the light. Wen Zhi said, "Alas! I see your heart. The square-inch area (heart) is empty, almost reaching the state of a sage. Your heart originally had six open channels, but one channel was blocked. Is your confusion arising from this obstruction of wisdom?" He then treated him, and the illness was immediately cured.
There was a good doctor from Qin, whose surname is unknown. Zhang Zi had a swelling on his back and ordered this doctor to treat it. Feng Gang was a person from Hanyang. He frequently collected flowers from various herbs, soaked them in water in jars, sealed them with mud, started from the first month until the end of the ninth month, and then buried the jars for one hundred days. He then took them out and decocted them for consumption. Those who died were revived by placing this medicine in their mouths and washing it down with water. Those who took Feng Gang's medicine not only recovered from illnesses but could live for hundreds of years without dying, eventually entering Mount Difei to become an immortal (from *Shenxian Zhuan*).
