《六脉配节气预知病诀图》
脉象出现独大、独小，或独浮、独沉，或独长、独短的情况，则表明有病。例如左关脉（位于手腕桡动脉左侧关部）呈现弦大之象，可预知惊蛰节气之后会出现风热性质的疾病。这是因为弦脉主风邪，而大脉主热邪。又如右尺脉（位于手腕桡动脉右侧尺部）呈现缓大之象，可预知芒种节气之后会出现湿热性质的疾病。这是因为缓脉主湿邪，而大脉主热邪。对于久病之人，如果寸口脉（手腕桡动脉近腕横纹处）呈现缓脉，而其他部位的脉象滞涩不畅，可预知在立冬节气后病情会痊愈。
心脉呈现洪大之象，肝脉呈现濡弱之象，肺脉呈现浮毛之象，肾脉呈现沉滑之象。如果在二月应当出现濡弱的肝脉，反而出现了浮毛的肺脉，那么到了秋天可能会死亡，这是因为金克木（肺属金，肝属木），秋季金气旺盛的缘故。

When the pulse presents as exclusively large or small, exclusively floating or deep, or exclusively long or short, disease is present. For instance, if the Guan position on the left side (Guan position of the left radial artery) exhibits a wiry and large quality, it indicates that wind-heat pathologies will likely occur after the Awakening of Insects solar term. This is because a wiry pulse governs wind, while a large pulse governs heat. Similarly, if the Chi position on the right side (Chi position of the right radial artery) exhibits a moderate and large quality, it indicates that damp-heat pathologies will likely occur after the Grain in Ear solar term. This is because a moderate pulse governs dampness, while a large pulse governs heat. In cases of chronic illness, if the Cun position (Cun position of the radial artery, near the wrist crease) presents a moderate quality while other positions exhibit stagnant and obstructive qualities, recovery can be predicted after the Start of Winter solar term.
The Heart pulse presents as surging and large; the Liver pulse presents as soft and weak; the Lung pulse presents as floating and hair-like; the Kidney pulse presents as deep and slippery. If, in the second lunar month, one should obtain a soft and weak Liver pulse but instead obtains a floating and hair-like Lung pulse, death is expected in autumn. This is due to Metal overcoming Wood (the Lung belongs to Metal, the Liver belongs to Wood), as Metal energy is prosperous during the autumn season.
