Huang Qin (Scutellaria Root, *Scutellariae Radix*). Equal parts.
Grind the two herbs into powder, mix with refined honey to make pills the size of wu zi (walnut seeds). Take seven pills before meals with water, three times daily.
For metal weapon injuries, wrapping with Sang Bai Pi (Mulberry Root Bark) allows juice to enter the wound, or sealing with Duan Shi (Ferruginis Ocrea) is excellent.
Whenever metal weapon injuries bleed, thirst inevitably occurs. Endure eating dry food; do not drink porridge or sweet fluids. Violating this causes fatal hemorrhage. For uncontrollable bleeding, apply Long Gu (Fossilized Bone, *Dinosauria Ossis Femur*) powder to the wound to stop bleeding immediately.

In the Zhenguan era, a meritorious official was shot in the back during a campaign. The arrow penetrated four cun. Famous physicians could not remove it, leaving it in the flesh without hindering movement but causing persistent suppuration. In autumn of the Yonghui era, I diagnosed him and prescribed Qu Mai Wan (Plantago Pill):
Qu Mai (Plantago Seed, *Plantaginis Semen*), 2 liang;
Xiong Huang (Realgar, *Realgar*), 1.5 liang, ground;

Fourteen herbs are ground into powder, mixed with honey into pills the size of walnut seeds. Take 10 pills with wine, twice daily, gradually increasing to 20 pills until effective. Avoid pork, fish, and raw/cold foods; meat consumption should be discontinued. When arrows or broken splinters enter the body, limbs become rigid. This medicine relaxes the limbs, allowing the arrowhead to eject naturally. I advised discontinuing meat to induce weight loss and muscle relaxation. The arrow eventually ejected one cun, making walking difficult. By winter to spring, it fell out naturally, measuring 3.5 cun. Thus, inducing leanness and muscle relaxation aids expulsion. This is recorded.
Another formula: Ci Shi (Magnetite, *Magnetitum*) powder applied stops pain and bleeding.
For deep metal weapon injuries, do not suture early. If suturing is necessary, dust with Hua Shi (Talcum, *Talcum*) to prevent premature closure.

Song Zhi (Pine Resin, *Pinus Resina*), half liang;
La (Beeswax, *Cera Flava*), one fen.
Melt the fats and wax using Song Ming (Pine Torch, *Pinus Massoniana* resinous wood) in a small pot. Collect the liquid in a cup and apply. Song Ming refers to pine knots.
Formula for suppurating and non-healing moxa wounds:
Lue Yue Zhu Zhi (December Pork Fat, *Sus Scrofa Domesticus Adipis*), 1 jin;
Xie Bai (Welsh Onion Bulb, *Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus*), 10 pieces;
Hu Fen (Lead Carbonate, *Cerussa*).
Boil Xie Bai until yellow, remove. Wrap Duan Shi (Ferruginis Ocrea) in cotton, boil briefly, remove. Add Hu Fen to the fat, mix, apply to old cloth, and patch. Three times daily.

Another formula: Apply mud from grinding stone troughs.
Another formula: Wash with water containing Fan Shi (Alum, *Alumen*).
Another formula: Apply Yang Ru Zhi (Goat Milk, *Caprae Hircus Lac*).
Another formula: Apply Qi Gu Cao (Spurge Herb, *Euphorbia humifusa*).
Another formula: Apply Guan Zhong (Cyrtomium Rhizome, *Cyrtomii Rhizoma*) powder.
