The occurrence of this syndrome originates from injury to the muscle during nail trimming. Alternatively, long nails may injure the flesh, causing Qi and Blood stagnation and obstruction. Over time, it leads to putrefaction, ulceration, formation of sores and blisters, protrusion of red flesh, and swelling and pain in the nail area. The treatment method involves easily removing the fingernail, after which healing occurs without medication. Alternatively, use the following prescription:
Wu Tou (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata) 5 qian, Bai Chou (Semen Caelebiae) 1 liang, Long Gu (Os Draconis) 2.5 qian. Crush them together, then stir-fry with Quan Wen Ge (Clam Shell) 4 liang until scorched black. Add Wu Bei Zi (Galla Chinensis) powder. Apply with Sesame Oil; if moist, apply dry powder.
At the initial stage, chills and fever occur, followed by pain and then swelling. Use the following prescription:
Bei Mu (Fritillariae Bulbus) 3 qian, Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix) 1 qian, Pu Gong Ying (Taraxaci Herba) 1 liang, Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) 1 liang, Sheng Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 2 qian, Chuan Shan Jia (Manis Squama) 1 piece (powdered). Decoct in water and take orally; one dose will resolve the condition.
Jing Ju (Well Carbuncle) occurs on the chest. This condition must be treated early; if the pathogen sinks into the abdomen, death is inevitable. Use the following prescription:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) 1 liang, Fu Ling (Poria) 5 qian, Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber) 5 qian, Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata) 1 liang, Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) 1 liang, Qian Shi (Euryales Semen) 1 liang, Gan Ju Hua (Chrysanthemi Flos) 5 qian, Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix) 5 qian, Ren Dong Teng (Lonicerae Caulis) 2 liang, Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix) 3 qian, Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix) 3 liang, Wang Bu Liu Xing (Vaccariae Semen) 3 qian. Decoct several bowls of water to obtain one bowl, drink in one go. Two doses will ensure recovery. If already ulcerated, administer more doses.
(An abscess) located on the lateral aspect of the thigh. Use the following external application:
Da Ji (Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix), Gan Sui (Kansui Radix). Grind into powder, mix with White Honey for topical application. For internal administration, use:
Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata) 1 liang, Lu Jiao Jiao (Corpus Cervi Pantotrichum Gelatinum) 3 qian, Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex) 1 qian, Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 1 qian, Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba) 5 fen, Pao Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum) 5 fen. Decoct in water and take orally. Four to five doses can cure the condition. Do not perform surgery; incision will inevitably lead to leg atrophy.
This syndrome arises from emotional disturbances and desires. The location is below the umbilicus at the Qihai acupoint (1.5 cun), or Guanyuan acupoint (2 cun), or Dantian acupoint (3 cun). Following the treatment principles for carbuncles, toxins, and Yin-type deep-seated abscesses, it can be cured.
Ying (Goiter) differs from Liu (Tumor). Ying grows attached to the flesh, with a large root and body; Liu has a small root but a large body. There are many types of Ying with various shapes, but all are diseases caused by Damp-Heat. They progress from small to large, from large to ulceration, and from ulceration to death. At the initial stage, it is appropriate to cut open with a small knife, allow slight drainage of white fluid, and apply Sheng Ji San (Flesh Regenerating Powder) for immediate healing.
The preparation method for Sheng Ji San is as follows:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) 1 qian, San Qi (Notoginseng Radix) 3 qian, Qing Fen (Calomelas) 5 qian, Qilin Xue (Draconis Sanguis), Xue Jie (Santalum Rubrum) 3 qian, Xiang Pi (Elephantiasis Skin) 1 qian, Ru Xiang (Olibanum) 1 qian, Mo Yao (Myrrha) 1 qian, Qian Nian Duan Shi (Calcined Calamine) 3 qian, Guang Mu Xiang (Agarwood) 1 qian, Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum) 3 fen, Er Cha (Terminalia Chebula Fruit Extract) 2 qian. Grind each into an extremely fine powder until no sound is produced when grinding. Mixing must be done on the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Day), and no one else should witness it.
If Ying has been neglected and gradually enlarges, use point-application medicine on the depressed areas. Pain will occur within half a day, leading to fluid discharge. The point-application medicine consists of:
Shui Yin (Hydrargyrum) 1 qian, Peng Sha (Borax) 1 qian, Que Fen (Magpie Powder), Ying Fen (Oriole Droppings) 1 qian, Qing Fen (Calomelas) 1 qian, Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum) 5 fen, Chao Nao (Camphora) 5 fen, Lv Fan (Melanteritum) 1 qian, Zao Fan (Chalcanthitum) 1 qian, She Xiang (Moschus) 3 fen. Grind together to extreme fineness. Apply once daily. After three days, administer the following prescription:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) 3 qian, Fu Ling (Poria) 5 qian, Yi Yi Ren (Coicis Semen) 1 liang, Ze Xie (Alismatis Rhizoma) 2 qian, Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) 1 liang, Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) 5 qian, Sheng Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 1 qian, Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) 1 qian, Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) 3 qian. Decoct in water and take orally. Ten doses will completely eliminate the condition. Sexual intercourse must be abstained from for one month; otherwise, rupture will occur, preventing wound closure, resulting in a chronic fistula for life.
