Treating scrofula (Luo Li, a disease characterized by tuberculous lymphadenitis), with miraculous efficacy.
Dingxiang (Clove, 7 pieces) Shexiang (Musk, 1 qian) Langdang (Datura seed, 50 grains) Xiongshufen (Male rat feces, 7 grains, those with pointed ends; stir-fry with two spoons of wheat bran until the bran turns blackish-yellow, then remove the bran and use) Banmao (Meloid beetle, 3 pieces, remove wings and feet, stir-fry with glutinous rice until yellow, then discard the rice) Huopi (Oak bark, 3 jin [approx. 1.8 kg], remove coarse bark, crush and finely chop, decoct in 2 dou [approx. 20 liters] of water to obtain 4 sheng [approx. 4 liters], filter and further concentrate into a paste, then add the aforementioned medicines). The above six ingredients are pounded together into powder. When the oak bark decoction has cooled to a warm temperature, add the other medicines, stir evenly, and store in a porcelain vessel. Take on an empty stomach each time, mixing three spoonfuls with one cup of warm wine. Adjust the dosage according to the patient's age, size, and leanness or corpulence. After ingestion, take again with clear warm wine, lie supine immediately, and vomit shortly thereafter. If the disease has been present for many years, the expelled matter resembles frog skin or fish intestines; if recent, it resembles clam meat. After vomiting, rinse the mouth with warm water and replenish with thin millet porridge. If millet is unavailable, other alternatives may be used. Avoid all ten types of toxic foods. Continue this regimen for over a month.

For scrofula that has already ulcerated with unceasing pus discharge:
Qingzhou zao (Jujube from Qingzhou, 20 pieces, burnt to ash) Gan Dihuang (Prepared Rehmannia Root, 0.5 liang, pounded separately into powder) Xuexie (Dragon's Blood, stir-fried, 2.5 qian).
The above three ingredients are finely ground into powder, mixed with saliva, and applied to the ulcer.

Use 300 non-boring soap pods (Zaoren), 1.5 sheng of wine, and dissolve 1 liang of Sha (likely referring to a mineral salt or specific processed substance, contextually ambiguous but likely a processing aid or ingredient) with them. Soak the soap pods for seven days. Boil using alternating mild and strong heat until the wine is exhausted. At bedtime, hold three pills in the mouth to dissolve. Cure is expected within half a month.

Scrofula arises when wind-pathogenic toxic qi lodges in the muscles, settling where deficiency exists, forming nodules like plums, dates, or jujubes, often appearing in clusters between skin and flesh, accompanied by intermittent chills and fever. Over time, these may ulcerate and suppurate continuously. Regardless of duration, this prescription is effective.
Soap pods (Zaoren, quantity unspecified, placed in a silk bag and soaked in a toilet for 21 days, then removed, washed clean, buried in a pit in the ground to extract toxins overnight, and dried).
Take 2 qian bi of the prepared soap pod powder, 1 qian bi of Banmao powder, 2 qian of Shuiyinfen (Calomel/Mercurous chloride), and one raw chicken egg white. Pour the egg white into a cup, add half a cup of fermented grain drink (Fanyin), mix thoroughly with the powders. Ingest at the beginning of the fourth watch (approx. 1-3 AM). By the fifth watch (approx. 3-5 AM), toxic matter will be discharged, either through urination or defecation. Mild discomfort or pain is acceptable. For cases lasting five years, three doses suffice; for three years, two doses; for two years, one dose. Observe dietary restrictions, consuming only roasted salt for five to seven days. This formula has been personally verified and is highly efficacious.
