思虑太重,则成气消;

思虑过度,会导致气机耗散;

Excessive thinking leads to the consumption of Qi;
One should not stay up late, nor engage in mental or physical labor; violating these principles will inevitably cause the disease to relapse.
Regarding Taiyang disease (diseases caused by external pathogenic factors affecting the Taiyang channel) and common colds, there are only distinctions of severity: severe cases are termed "Shang" (injury), while mild cases are termed "Gan" (sensation). One must inquire about symptoms to observe external signs and palpate the pulse to examine internal conditions,
especially distinguishing between Yin and Yang and observing the transmission and transformation of the disease. From the first to the third day, if the pathogen is in the skin and surface, it is a Exterior Syndrome (a syndrome where the pathogen is located on the exterior of the body), and it is appropriate to administer diaphoretic herbs to disperse the Cold Evil (pathogenic cold). Patients with sweating should not take Ephedra Decoction (Mahuang Tang); patients without sweating should not take Cinnamon Twig Decoction (Guizhi Tang). Between the fourth and fifth days, if the pathogen is in the chest and diaphragm, with phlegm and Qi stagnation causing tightness and fullness, it is appropriate to administer emetic herbs. Between the sixth and seventh days, if the pathogen enters the abdomen, causing dryness and knotting in the Zang-Fu organs, accompanied by delirious speech and tidal fever, it is appropriate to administer purgative herbs. In cases where chest and abdominal stuffiness and pain occur immediately upon contracting the disease, along with stomach Qi rebellion and wheezing, one should not be bound by the number of days but should immediately use purgation. In cases where headache, aversion to cold, sweating on the nape, and clear, free urination persist after six or seven days, this indicates that the Exterior Syndrome has not been resolved, and diaphoresis is still indicated. If diaphoresis is indicated but purgation is used instead, heat will accumulate internally, likely leading to mania or Chest Binding Syndrome (Jie Xiong); if purgation is indicated but diaphoresis is used instead, fluid exhaustion and body deficiency will lead to Yang collapse and delirium; if emesis is indicated but warming tonification is used, toxic vapors will stagnate in the heart, manifesting as macules; those with colors like brocade may survive, while those with black colors are difficult to treat. The variations in condition are numerous; I have briefly outlined the general principles for emergency management. Treating Taiyang disease requires caution, and medication administration during clinical practice must be detailed and prudent.
To treat Head Wind (cold in the brain), wandering wind on the face, excessive tearing, rhinorrhea, and salivation, use the seedlings of Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong Miao), chew them thoroughly, and swallow with clear tea.
To treat Brain Wind, common cold, and pediatric Phlegm-Wind, use Mint Leaves (Bohe Ye), chewing three or two slices daily after meals; this greatly cools the Upper Jiao Diaphragm, dispels Wind-Phlegm, and unblocks the Guan Ge (obstruction at the diaphragm).
To treat various Head Winds and wandering wind on the face, use Paimeng Grass (Paifeng Cao) ground into powder, insert a measure of "one character" into the nose, naturally refreshing the head and eyes, dispelling Wind and clearing the upper burner.
To treat Head Wind with vertigo, collect Chrysanthemum flowers on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, dry them in the sun. Take one dou of glutinous rice, steam until cooked, mix with five liang of dried chrysanthemum, add ample yeast starter, and brew wine according to standard methods. Once mature, warm and drink a small cup each time.
To treat Shaking Head Wind, mix mud from the bottom of a well with powders of Rhubarb Root (Dahuang) and Mirabilite (Mangxiao), and apply topically.
To treat Head and Eye Wind, equal parts of Schizonepeta Spike (Jingjie Sui), Asarum Root (Xixin), and Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong) are ground into powder. Take two qian with hot water after meals.
Another prescription: Take five he of Peach Kernels (Taoren), remove the skin, grind finely using rice water from japonica rice, squeeze out the juice using Jiangshui (fermented rice water), continuing until all essence from the kernels is extracted. Wash the face with this slightly warm liquid; it is excellent for making the skin lustrous and promoting longevity.
To treat Head Wind, wash Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong) with water, slice thinly, dry by baking, and grind into powder. Form pills the size of bullet seeds using refined honey. Chew one pill at any time with clear tea.
Another prescription: Take one large Aconite Lateral Root (Fuzi), remove skin and navel, boil together with mung beans until the beans are cooked. Remove the Fuzai, consume the beans to cure the condition. Each Fuzi can be used for five doses; the remaining Fuzi can be ground into powder and taken.
To treat Hemicephalic Head Wind (Hemicrania), grind Piper Longum Fruit (Bibo) into powder. Have the patient hold it in the mouth. If the pain is on the left, inhale one character through the left nostril; if on the right, inhale through the right nostril. This is very effective.
To treat Head Wind with vertigo, lightly stir-fry Cicada Slough (Chanqiao), grind into powder. Take one qianbi mixed with warm wine per dose.
To treat Head Wind with dizziness, decoct Perilla Leaf (Shuisu) in clear wine to obtain one sheng of juice. Drink it, and also use the juice to wash the hair to make it fragrant and prevent dandruff. Washing with ash-leached water is also good.
To treat Head Wind, grind Velvet Bean Seed (Shandougen) into powder, mix with oil, and apply topically.
Another prescription: Take one sheng of Apricot Kernels (Xingren), remove skin and tips. Grind double-kernel kernels in water and squeeze out the juice. Boil down to a paste consistency. Mix two spoons into wine or gruel, and take after meals. After ten days, sweating will occur, and the condition will resolve.
To treat newly contracted Head Wind, decoct child's urine with Scallion and Fermented Soybean (Congchi) and drink the soup; this is beneficial.
To treat Hemicrania and General Headache, grind Angelica Dahurica Root (Baizhi) two liang into powder. Form pills the size of longan seeds using refined honey. Take two or three pills, chew thoroughly after meals, and swallow with tea.
To treat Head Wind, collect Xanthium Fruit (Cangerzi) two liang, Artemisia Capillaris Herb (Yinchen) one liang, and Licorice Root (Gancao) half liang on the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu). Grind into powder. Take five qian per dose, mixed with hot wine or hot tea.
Another prescription: Equal parts of Xanthium Fruit (Cangerzi), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong), and Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui) are ground into powder. Take three qian per dose, mixed with clear tea before bed.
Another prescription: Equal parts of Aconitum Carleilii Root (Caowu) and Asarum Root (Xixin), with a small amount of Red Lead (Huandan), are ground into powder. Snuff into the nose.
Another prescription: Take one very large Aconitum Carmichaelii Root (Chuanwu), boil seven times in river water, chop finely, stir-fry with salt until yellow. Soak four liang of Asarum Root (Xixin) in wine, take half jin of Tea Buds (Chaye), and a little Musk (Shexiang). Grind all into powder. Take three qian per dose, mixed with clear tea after meals and before bed. Shortly after, induce sweating with hot water, or until nasal discharge occurs.
Another prescription: Use Bright Sulfur (Guangming Huhuang) and Niter (Xiaoshi), one liang each, grind finely, and form water pills the size of a finger. Chew with tea on an empty stomach; this also treats unbearable headaches.
Another prescription: Equal parts of Bitter Clove (Kuding Ding), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuanxiong), and Veratrum Root (Lilu) are ground into powder. Hold water in the mouth and snuff the powder into the nose.
