Cansu San, Xiangsu San, Shishen Tang, Wuji San, and Huoxiang Zhengqi San: Refer to the dosage instructions in the "Adult Typhoid Fever Section" (Daren Shanghan Men) for these formulas, and administer with reduced doses.
For pediatric latent summerheat syndrome (Fushu Zheng), characterized by fever, sweating, and excessive thirst, or accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, cholera-like symptoms, and abdominal pain; or presenting with a deficient pulse, slightly cold extremities, irritability, thirst, and heat in the mouth; or where irritability leads to vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, and subsequently convulsions resembling wind-stroke similar to typhoid fever, one must not immediately treat it as wind-stroke disease or typhoid fever. Instead, one should carefully consider using Wuling San or Liuhe Banxia Tang, which ensures safety without error. If there is a tendency towards cold or heat, medication should be adjusted according to judgment; it is highly inadvisable to adhere rigidly to a single method.
Chensha Wuling San (Treats pediatric latent summerheat, vomiting and diarrhea with thirst, and mental confusion; this is Wuling San supplemented with Chensha.)
Liuhe Banxia Tang (Treats pediatric summerheat stroke causing cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea, irritability, thirst, and phlegm-cough. Both formulas are also described in the "Adult Summer Diarrhea" section.)
Chao Yuanfang stated: Dampness is water qi. The *Huoren Shu* states: Wind and rain invade deficiency, and vapors rise from mountains and marshes; this is not limited to adults suffering from dampness, but children can also contract dampness. Since entering summer, children's Spleen and Stomach become weak, and their Couli (pores) become open. Due to continuous rainy days or ground moisture evaporation, if children sit or lie on such surfaces, they are invaded by hot qi. The pulse appears deep and slow, the body feels heavy and painful, with fever and aversion to cold, or excessive sweating and aversion to wind, mental dullness, or difficult urination, and loose stools. If prolonged without cure, the limbs may droop; if the pathogen enters the Zang organs, aphasia occurs. The general principle of treatment is to promote diuresis to eliminate dampness naturally; one must not use sweating methods or harsh purgatives.
Shenling San treats pediatric dampness invasion causing body pain, facial edema, fever with aversion to wind, excessive sweating, vomiting, and difficult urination.
