痘疹乃胎毒所致，人生无不患者，若欲免之，亦有法也。故《千金方》以小儿初生，啼声未发，急用棉
裹指头，拭去口中污汁，免咽入腹，免生痘疹，固是良法。然仓卒之际，或有不及如法者，古人
有甘草、朱砂等法，用之殊佳。如或又有不及如此者，宜以延生第一等方，择便用之，可免痘疹，或出
亦稀少也。详考《全书幼幼》云∶凡值天时不正，乡邻痘疹盛发，宜服后禁方，则可免，永不出痘疹矣。
方
延生第一方 小儿初生，脐带脱落后，取置新瓦上，用炭火四
围，烧至烟将尽，放土地上，用瓦盏之类盖之，存性研为末，预将朱砂透明者，为极细末，水飞过，脐带
若有五分重，朱砂用二分五厘，生地黄、当归身煎浓汁一二蚬壳，调和前两味，抹儿上 间、乳母乳头上，一
日之内用尽，次日大便遗下秽污浊垢之物，终身末无疮疹及诸疾，生一子，得一子，十分妙法也。
大极丸
腊月八日，取采生兔一只，取血以荞麦面和之，少加雄黄四五分，候干成饼。凡初生小儿。三日后如绿
豆大者，与二三丸，乳汁送下，遍身发出红点，是其征验。有终身不出痘疹者，虽出亦不稠密也。婴儿已长，
会饮食者，就以兔血啖之，尤妙。或云不必八日，但腊月兔亦可，然终不若八日佳。
保婴丹 凡小儿未出痘疹者，每遇交春分、秋分，时服一丸，其痘毒能渐消化。若只服一二次者，亦
得减少。若服三年六次，其毒尽能消化，必保无虞。此方神秘，本不轻传，但慈幼之心自不能
已，愿与四方好生君子共之。
缠豆藤（一两五钱，其藤八月间收，取青豆梗、土藤细红丝者是，采取阴干，炒，
在此药为主） 黑豆（三十粒） 赤豆（七十粒） 山楂肉（一两） 荆芥（五钱） 防风（五钱）
当归（五钱） 新升麻（七钱半） 赤芍（五钱） 黄连（五钱） 桔梗（五钱） 连翘（七钱半）
甘草（五钱） 生地黄（一两） 川独活（五钱） 辰砂（一两，水飞，另研） 苦丝瓜（二
个，长五寸者，隔年经霜方妙，烧灰存性） 牛蒡子（一两，纸裹炒过为度）
上各为极细末，和匀，净糖拌丸，李核大。每服一丸，浓煎甘草汤化下。
诸药须预先精办，遇春分、秋分，或正月十五日、七月十五日，修合务要精诚，忌妇人、猫、犬见，合
时向太阳，咒药曰∶神仙妙药，体合自然，婴儿吞服，天地齐年，吾奉太上老君，急急如律勒令，一气七遍。
涤秽免痘汤
五六月间，取丝瓜小小蔓藤丝、阴干，约二两半重，收起。至正月初一子时，父母只令一人知，将前
丝瓜藤煎汤，待温，洗儿全
身头面上下，以去其胎毒，洗后亦不出痘也，如出亦轻，只三五颗而已。一方用胡芦藤蔓，如上法洗，亦
妙。扶沟王大中每用楝树子升许，如上法洗，已经验数人，皆长大而不出痘，尤妙。
痘疹是由胎毒引起的，人生下来没有不患这种病的，如果想要避免它，也是有方法的。所以《千金方》记载，在小儿刚出生、啼哭声尚未发出时，急忙用棉团裹住手指，擦拭去口中污浊的汁液，避免吞咽入腹，从而避免生出痘疹，这确实是好方法。然而在仓促之间，有时可能来不及按照这种方法操作，古人有使用甘草、朱砂等方法，用起来也非常好。如果又来不及这样做，适宜使用“延生第一等方”，选择方便的时候使用，可以免除痘疹，或者即使出痘也很少。详细考证《全书幼幼》说：凡是遇到天时不正（气候异常），乡邻间痘疹盛发流行时，适宜服用后面的禁方，就可以免除，永远不再出痘疹了。
方剂：
延生第一方 小儿初生，脐带脱落后，取来放置在新瓦片上，用炭火在四周烘烤，烧到烟即将燃尽时，放在土地上，用瓦盏之类的东西盖住，保留药性，研磨成粉末。预先将透明的朱砂研磨成极细粉末，用水飞法处理。如果脐带有五分重，朱砂就用二分五厘，用生地黄、当归身煎煮浓汁一二蚬壳量，调和前两味药，涂抹在婴儿的囟门、乳母乳头处，一天之内用完。第二天大便排出秽浊污垢之物，终身不会有疮疹及各种疾病，生一个儿子就得到一个儿子的保护，是非常奇妙的法子。
太极丸 腊月八日，取一只采生的兔子，取兔血用荞麦面调和，少加雄黄四五分，候干后做成饼状。凡是初生小儿，三天后给如绿豆大小的二三丸，用乳汁送服，遍身发出红点，这是见效的征象。有的终身不出痘疹，即使出痘也不稠密。婴儿长大，会饮食后，就直接喂兔血，尤其奇妙。有人说不必等到八日，只要是腊月的兔子也可以，然而终究不如八日的佳妙。
保婴丹 凡是小儿未出痘疹者，每逢春分、秋分时，按时服用一丸，其痘毒能逐渐消化。如果只服一两次，也能减少发病。如果服用三年共六次，其毒气完全能消化，必定保证无忧。此方神秘，本来不轻易传授，但慈爱幼儿之心不能停止，愿与四方好生君子共同分享。

以上各药都研磨成极细粉末，混合均匀，用净糖拌和制成丸子，大小如李核。每次服用一丸，用浓煎的甘草汤化开送下。
诸药须预先精心准备，遇到春分、秋分，或正月十五日、七月十五日，调制务必精诚，忌讳妇人、猫、狗看见，合药时要面向太阳，念咒语说：“神仙妙药，体合自然，婴儿吞服，天地齐年，吾奉太上老君，急急如律令，一气七遍。”
涤秽免痘汤 五六月间，取丝瓜小小蔓藤丝，阴干，约二两半重，收藏起来。到了正月初一子时，父母只让一人知道，将前丝瓜藤煎汤，待温度适宜，清洗婴儿全身头面上下，以去除其胎毒，洗后也不会出痘，即使出痘也很轻，只有三五颗而已。一方用葫芦藤蔓，像上述方法清洗，也很好。扶沟人王大中每次用楝树子一升左右，像上述方法清洗，已经验证了几个人，都长大而不出痘，尤其奇妙。
Measles and smallpox are caused by fetal toxins; no one in life is exempt from suffering from them. However, if one wishes to avoid them, there are methods available. Therefore, the *Qianjin Fang* (Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) records that when a newborn infant has not yet begun to cry, one should urgently use cotton wrapped around a finger to wipe away the foul fluid in the mouth, preventing it from being swallowed into the abdomen, thereby avoiding the onset of measles and smallpox. This is indeed an excellent method. However, in hurried situations, it may be impossible to follow this method strictly. The ancients had methods using Gancao (Licorice Root), Zhusha (Cinnabar), etc., which work very well. If even these are not feasible, it is advisable to use the "Yansheng First Class Formula," applying it conveniently, which can prevent measles and smallpox, or ensure that if they do appear, they will be sparse. A detailed examination of *Quan Shu You You* states: Whenever the weather is abnormal and measles/smallpox are prevalent among neighbors, it is advisable to take the following secret formula, which can prevent the disease entirely, ensuring no future outbreaks.
Formulas:
Yansheng First Formula: After the umbilical cord falls off from a newborn, collect it and place it on a new tile. Roast it with charcoal fire around the perimeter until the smoke nearly ceases. Place it on the ground and cover it with a clay cup or similar vessel to preserve its medicinal nature. Grind it into powder. Prepare transparent Zhusha (Cinnabar) as an extremely fine powder, processed by water flotation. For every 5 fen of umbilical cord, use 2.5 fen of Zhusha. Decoct Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) and Dangguishen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) to make a concentrated decoction, approximately one or two shell volumes. Mix this liquid with the first two powders. Apply the mixture to the infant's fontanelle and the nursing mother's nipples. Use up the preparation within one day. On the second day, the infant will pass foul, turbid waste in the stool. This ensures lifelong immunity from sores, rashes, and various diseases. It is a wonderful method where each child born is protected.
Taiji Pill: On the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month, obtain a freshly slaughtered rabbit. Collect its blood and mix it with buckwheat flour. Add a small amount of Xionghuang (Realgar), about 4-5 fen. Dry the mixture into cakes. For newborns, after three days, administer 2-3 pills the size of mung beans, delivered with milk. The appearance of red spots all over the body is the sign of efficacy. Some children will never develop measles/smallpox throughout their lives; if they do, the eruption will not be dense. Once the infant grows older and can eat solid food, feeding them rabbit blood is particularly effective. Some say the eighth day is not necessary; any rabbit from the twelfth lunar month will suffice, but the eighth day is ultimately superior.
Baoying Dan (Infant Protection Pill): For infants who have not yet developed measles/smallpox, administer one pill at the time of the Spring Equinox and Autumn Equinox. The fetal toxin will gradually dissipate. Even taking it only once or twice can reduce severity. Taking it six times over three years will completely eliminate the toxin, ensuring safety. This formula is mysterious and was not lightly transmitted, but out of compassion for children, I wish to share it with benevolent gentlemen everywhere.
Chandou Teng (Vine of the Bean-Wrapping Vine) (1 liang 5 qian: Harvest the vine in August, selecting those with green bean stems and fine red silk-like earth vines. Dry in shade, stir-fry. This is the principal herb.) Heidou (Black Soybeans) (30 grains) Chidou (Red Beans) (70 grains) Shanzha Rou (Hawthorn Flesh) (1 liang) Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba) (5 qian) Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) (5 qian) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (5 qian) Xin Shengma (Fresh Cimicifugae Rhizoma) (7 qian 5 fen) Chishao (Red Peony Root) (5 qian) Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (5 qian) Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) (5 qian) Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus) (7 qian 5 fen) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (5 qian) Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) (1 liang) Chuan Du Huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix) (5 qian) Chen Sha (Cinnabar) (1 liang, water-flown, ground separately) Ku Siguwa (Bitter Loofah) (2 fruits, 5 cun long, best if aged through frost, burnt to ash preserving nature) Niubangzi (Arctii Fructus) (1 liang, stir-fried wrapped in paper).
Grind all ingredients into an extremely fine powder and mix evenly. Bind with refined sugar to form pills the size of a plum pit. Take one pill per dose, dissolved in a strong decoction of Gancao (Licorice Root).
The herbs must be carefully prepared in advance. When compounding during the Spring/Autumn Equinoxes, or the 15th of the first and seventh lunar months, one must be sincere and devout. Avoid letting women, cats, or dogs see the process. Compound facing the sun, chanting the mantra seven times: "Divine miraculous medicine, harmonized with nature, ingested by infants, sharing the years of heaven and earth. I invoke Taishang Laojun, execute swiftly as decreed."
Dihui Mian Dou Tang (Purifying Filth and Preventing Smallpox Decoction): In May and June, collect small loofah vine tendrils, dry them in the shade, storing about 2.5 liang. On the night of the first day of the first lunar month (Zi hour), let only one parent know. Decoct the stored loofah vine tendrils in water. When warm, wash the infant's entire body, head, and face, to remove fetal toxins. After washing, measles/smallpox will not appear; if they do, they will be mild, only 3-5 spots. Another method uses gourd vines, washed similarly, which is also effective. Wang Dazhong from Fugou used about 1 sheng of Chinaberry seeds, washing similarly, verified on several people who grew up without developing the disease, which is especially wonderful.
