(If a patient exhibits even one symptom or disease manifestation described in this prescription, they may take this medicine.)
To treat all conditions in men and women caused by the accumulation of wind-phlegm (Feng Xian), including: sudden intense hunger followed by satiety upon seeing food; nausea and vomiting in the chest, with loss of taste for all foods; excessive salivation and thick, glue-like sputum; acute episodes of vomiting and inability to retain food in the stomach; dark blue-black complexion, dry muscles, scorched-red lips and skin, occasionally turning black suddenly; qi jumping and rushing upward under both hypochondria, with strong throbbing sensations under the ribs radiating pain to the back and whole-body muscles, sometimes accompanied by tremors; heavy arms as if weighed down by an object; complete insomnia at night; sensation of an object striking the throat, leading to sudden fainting and unconsciousness, recovering after a moment; sensation of an object winding around the waist and back, or lying horizontally across the back, causing waist and back pain; occasional mouth ulcers; passage of red stool; intermittent diarrhea; restlessness and heat at the vertex, dark red urine, generalized fever; tense and rigid eyes; occasional mental irritability with heat attacking the chest; profuse sweating on the forehead like water; unbearable pain in the skin and flesh of the neck; heaviness in the precordial region and under the hypochondria as if a piece of object were hanging there; occasional numbness in the affected areas; muscle nodules forming and connecting on the body, causing painful discomfort; simultaneous swelling of the head, face, lower abdomen, and feet; in women, swelling of the vulva; sudden severe pain in both eyes with blurred vision. If these manifestations occur alongside amenorrhea, peace is only restored when menstruation resumes. Occasionally, qi rises from the hypochondria, rushes into the stomach tube, and strikes the throat, causing distress and faintness, relieved only by opening the mouth, tilting the head back, and exhaling. Sometimes, it feels like chaotic insects biting the heart and liver, preventing sleep; sometimes, qi arises from the fingernails and toenails, converging into the stomach tube, triggering high fever, coma, and loss of consciousness, requiring hundreds of exhalations before recovery. Such symptoms are caused by accumulated toxins, wind pathogens, and phlegm within the zang-fu organs. Any person experiencing any of these internal symptoms may take this medicine, adjusting the dosage according to the severity. After taking this medicine, a crackling sound will be heard from the limbs, joints, muscles, and hair, which indicates the efficacy of the drug. This is a cooling medicine; post-ingestion, the bowels may become hot, which signifies the expulsion of the pathogen. The disease has deep roots and is deeply entrenched; continuous administration is required to gradually eliminate the root cause. If the pathogenic force is strong, moxibustion should be urgently applied to Ganshu (BL18) to reduce wind qi. If constipation is present, add the following few herbs to the formula for relief. In years when the Tai Sui passes through Liuren, or in Dingmao and Jihai years, such conditions are common; in Jisi and Jihai years, the illness is particularly severe. Even in individuals without disease during Jisi years, taking this medicine can prevent illness.
