Discussion states: Children's qi and blood are of a pure yang nature, their muscles are soft and fragile, making them susceptible to injury from wind-toxin and pathogenic heat. If Ying (nutritive) qi does not flow smoothly and rebels within the muscle tissue, condensing into fierce, toxic swelling and pain with abnormal manifestations, it is thus named "E Chuang" (Malignant Ulcer). Its symptoms may include itching or pain, red roots hidden within the flesh, hardness without suppuration, or perforation with pus formation, persisting for a long time without healing. The treatment method should follow the internal and external syndromes for therapy, so that the ulcer can be cured.
For treating E Chuang in children. Qian Dan Gao (Lead Tallow Ointment) Formula:
Qian Dan (Lead Carbonate, 10 liang), Feng Hua Duan Shi (Weathered Calcined Alun Stone), Zhu Zhi (Pig Fat) (each 1 jin).
Take the above three ingredients, grind the first two together into fine powder, mix with pig fat to form cakes, and burn over fire until thoroughly red. Repeat this process five times. After the medicine is prepared, pound and sieve into powder. For wet ulcers, apply dry; for dry ulcers, make into an ointment, mix with pig fat, spread on paper, and apply as a patch.
For treating E Chuang in children. Da Huang Tang (Rhubarb Decoction) Wash Formula:
Da Huang (Raw Rhubarb, cut), Huang Lian (Coptis Rhizome, remove stamens), Huang Qin (Scutellaria Root, remove black heart), Ze Lan (Lycopus Herb), Bai Fan Ku (Alum, calcined), Shi Nan (Photinia Leaf), Rong Yan (Rock Salt), She Chuang Zi (Cnidium Fruit, stir-fried) (each 1 liang; Rong Yan 1 fen; She Chuang Zi 3 he).
Coarsely crush and sieve the above eight ingredients. Take 2 liang per dose, add 3 sheng of water, decoct to obtain 2 sheng of liquid. Remove the dregs, adjust to a suitable temperature, dip cotton wool into the solution, and wash the affected area. Do this three times a day.
For treating E Chuang in children. Yin Yu Tang (Epimedium Decoction) Bath Formula:
Yin Yu (Epimedium Herb, 1 liang), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, cut), Ku Shen (Sophora Root) (each 3 liang), Xi Xin (Asarum Root, remove seedlings and leaves), Huang Lian (Coptis Rhizome, remove stamens) (each 2 liang), Rui Ren (Prunus Persica Kernel, 20 pieces, remove skin).
Coarsely crush and sieve the above six ingredients. Take 3 liang per dose, soak in 5 sheng of water to extract juice, decoct to obtain 3 sheng. Remove dregs and use for bathing the child. Use daily.
For treating E Chuang in children, where the whole body presents with lesions like hemp seeds or beans, wrapped in pus, alternating between pain and itching. Gan Cao San (Licorice Powder) Formula:
Hu Fen (Basic Lead Carbonate, stir-fried until yellow, 5 liang), Huang Lian (Coptis Rhizome, remove stamens), Huang Bo (Phellodendron Bark, remove coarse skin and cut) (each 3 liang).
Pound and sieve the latter two ingredients into powder, mix with Hu Fen, grind uniformly together, and apply to the ulcer. Apply twice a day; immediate effect is expected.
Another formula:
Dou Chi (Fermented Soybean, stir-fried until yellow, 1 he).
Pound and sieve this single ingredient into powder and apply to the ulcer.
