It tends to occur in the interdigital spaces of hands and feet, spreading across the body. When exposed to warmth or when clothing is too thick, the child experiences unbearable itching and stifling pain, and scratching yields yellow exudate. The unceasing pain is attributed to wind-heat pathogens invading the Spleen and Lung meridians, dispersing into the muscles, and steaming the skin.
