论曰小儿禀受纯阳，腑脏蕴热，自内出外，随气熏蒸，散于荣卫肌肉之间，留连肉腠，
或因

然亦须详审，若大便已利，或疮已出者，皆不可疏，亦不可汗，若发其表，则疮孔开泄，更
增斑烂，仓公扁鹊常用油剂草剂，其法最妙，大率汤剂之用，所以透肌和里，开通中外，使
疹毒通快，不致壅瘀，去其邪毒，乃得痊瘥，然食乳婴孩，与童儿疮疹，治法不同，婴孩之
病，唯宜调节乳母，令气血清和，乳汁通利，最为要法，若初断乳小儿，则以汤剂和其阴阳
，调其荣卫，既瘥之后，尤宜利其脏腑。以去余毒，此治疮疹之大法也。
治断乳婴孩并童儿患疹痘疾，其候初觉，多似伤寒，面色与四肢俱赤，壮热头痛腰脊疼
，足多厥冷，眼睛黄色，脉息多浮洪，至数数大不定，小便赤少，大便多秘，才觉四肢色候
及脉息，虽是疹痘疾未攻皮毛穴出者，便可以服饵匀和脏腑疏泄遂下药，按仓公论云，可服
油剂，不可用燥药，不可用冷药，若疹已结在皮毛穴处，微微出，即不可疏泄也，或疹出太
盛窦穴脓水者，却可疏利也，或未与疏转，即宜急服紫草汤剂。紫草汤方
紫草（二两新者）
上一味细锉，先以百沸汤浸，便以物合定，勿令紫草气出，放令如人体温，凡五十日至

上一味细锉，先以酒二升，煎令百沸，浸胡荽，便以物合定，不令气出，候冷去滓。微
微从项以下喷背膂，及两脚胸腹令遍，唯不可喷面。
治疮疹将发，证候已见，当护面目，勿令粘染，欲用胡荽酒喷时，当先用此方涂面上，
大人婴孩有此疾，悉宜护面。黄柏膏方
黄柏（去粗皮一两） 绿豆（一两半） 甘草（炙四两）
上三味，捣罗为末，再研令匀细，以生麻油调如薄膏，从耳门前及眼窠，并浓涂。昼夕
三五上，涂面后，可用胡荽酒喷也，如用此方涂面，纵出疹痘亦少。
大人小儿疮疹出。护眼法。
上才觉患，以盐花少许，汤浸了令温，洗两眼，昼夕可三两度，大人以指 盐花水。
点眼内，旋以帛子拭之，初用眼即多痛。三上后，即不觉痛。不计大人小儿，或患欲退时，
眼内有余热者，亦宜用此法洗点。
治小儿未满百日，患痘疮。槐白皮汤浴方
槐白皮（一两） 益母草（五两）
上二味，以水五升，煎至三升，去滓浴儿了，更取芸薹菜浓煎汁再浴，作芸薹菜。与乳
母吃、亦佳。
治小儿斑疮豌豆疮。青黛散方
青黛（研如粉半两） 铁精浆（一升）
上二味，将青黛为散，临时斟酌铁浆调之，一百日儿至二百日儿，每服一字匕，乳前服

上三味，捣研为末，再研匀，炼蜜和丸，如鸡头大，每服一丸，熟水化下。
治小儿疹痘穴后，灭瘢痕。楝实膏方
楝实（去核炒） 槐子（各一两）
上二味，并拍碎。用猪脂鹅脂各四两，同于铜铫内，以文武火煎一二十沸，去滓入在瓷
合中，候凝涂瘢痕。日二度。
又方
蚬子（活者）
上一味，以淮水或江水养五日，旋取此水，洗手面，日渐生肉。乃无瘢痕。
论述说：小儿禀受纯阳之体，脏腑蕴藏热邪，热气自内向外发散，随着气机熏蒸，散布在荣卫和肌肉之间，滞留于皮肤纹理。
因此（治疗需）仔细审察。如果大便已经通畅，或者疹痘已经发出，都不可使用疏泄法，也不可发汗。如果强行发汗解表，会导致疮孔开泄，更加增加斑烂。仓公、扁鹊常用油剂和草剂，这种方法最为奇妙。大抵汤剂的作用，在于透达肌表、调和里气，开通内外，使疹毒通畅排出，不致壅滞瘀结，去除邪毒，才能痊愈。然而，吃奶的婴儿与儿童的疮疹，治疗方法不同。婴儿的疾病，只适宜调节乳母，使乳母气血清和，乳汁通利，这是最重要的方法。如果是刚断奶的小儿，则用汤剂调和阴阳，调畅荣卫，病愈之后，尤其应当通利脏腑，以去除余毒。这是治疗疮疹的大法。
治疗刚断奶的婴儿及儿童患疹痘疾，初起感觉时，多像伤寒，面色和四肢都发红，高热头痛，腰脊疼痛，脚部大多厥冷，眼睛发黄，脉象多浮洪，至数快而大且不固定，小便赤少，大便多秘结。才发觉四肢色泽及脉象异常时，虽然疹痘尚未攻伐皮毛穴窍而出，就可以服用匀和脏腑、疏泄遂下的药物。按仓公的论述，可以服用油剂，不可用燥药，不可用冷药。如果疹子已经在皮毛穴处凝结，微微发出，就不可再疏泄了；或者疹出太盛，窦穴化脓流水的，却可以疏利。如果还未疏转，就应立即服用紫草汤剂。
紫草汤方
紫草（二两，新鲜的）
以上一味药，细切锉碎，先用滚开水浸泡，随即用器物盖严，不让紫草的气味散出，放置到如人体温度般温热。凡五十日至一百日大的婴儿……三岁至……
治疗小儿脏腑伏热，未形成疹痘疾，候诊见四肢微觉发热，食欲减退，头发干枯直立，有时额头微热，适宜服用生油汤剂法。扁鹊及仓公称此法为神剂。
生油一盏
以上令药液如人体温度，取熟水一小盏，慢慢倒入油碗中，不停地用筷子搅拌，直到熟水倒完，使油水混合均匀如蜜状即停止。夜间睡觉时服用，一至三岁幼儿，每次服约两蚬壳量，五岁至七岁幼儿，每次服约三蚬壳量，十五岁……每次服三大蚬壳量，直至成人，每次服五蚬壳量或三大合。每日饭后良久服用，服后令其躺卧片刻。如服用三五次后，大小便通畅，四肢热退，则疹痘不再复发，自然安宁。
治疗疹豆欲令快速发出。胡荽酒方
胡荽（半握）
以上一味药，细切锉碎，先用酒二升，煎煮至沸腾，浸泡胡荽，随即用器物盖严，不让气味散出，候冷去渣。从颈部以下喷洒背部脊柱，以及双脚、胸腹部使其遍洒，唯独不可喷洒面部。
治疗疮疹将要发出，证候已见，应当保护面目，不要让疹毒粘染。想要用胡荽酒喷洒时，应当先用此方涂抹面部。大人婴儿有此疾，都应当护面。黄柏膏方

以上才发觉患病，用少许盐花，用热水浸温，洗两眼，白天晚上可洗两三度。大人用手指蘸盐花水点入眼内，随即用帛子擦拭。初用眼时多痛。三次后，就不觉得痛了。不论大人小儿，或者患疹欲退时，眼内有残余热邪的，也适宜用此法洗点。

Commentary states: Children are endowed with a "Pure Yang" constitution (Chunyang, pure yang), and their fu organs harbor heat. This heat emanates from within to the exterior, steaming along with the qi mechanism, dispersing between the Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) levels and muscles, lingering in the skin and interstices.
Therefore, careful examination is required. If the stool has already been unblocked, or if the rash/pox has already erupted, neither purgation nor diaphoresis should be used. Forcing diaphoresis will cause the sores to open and leak, exacerbating the maceration of spots. Cang Gong and Bian Que commonly used oil-based and herbal preparations; this method is most excellent. Generally, the use of decoctions serves to penetrate the muscle layer, harmonize the interior, open the internal and external pathways, allowing the rash toxin to flow freely without stagnation or stasis, thereby eliminating the pathogenic toxin and achieving recovery. However, the treatment for nursing infants differs from that for children regarding rash/pox diseases. For infant illnesses, it is best to regulate the mother's diet and state so that her Qi and Blood are clear and harmonious, ensuring smooth lactation; this is the most crucial method. For toddlers who have just been weaned, decoctions should be used to harmonize Yin and Yang, and regulate Ying and Wei. After recovery, it is especially important to promote the free flow of the Zang-Fu organs to eliminate residual toxins. This is the general principle for treating rash/pox diseases.
For weaned infants and children suffering from rash/pox diseases, the initial symptoms often resemble Taiyang disease (Exterior syndrome). The face and limbs appear red, there is high fever, headache, and pain in the waist and spine, while the feet are often cold. The eyes may appear yellowish, and the pulse is typically floating and surging, rapid, large, and irregular. Urine is scanty and red, and stool is often constipated. As soon as changes in the color of the limbs and pulse characteristics are noticed, even if the rash/pox has not yet attacked the skin pores to erupt, one may administer medications that harmonize the Zang-Fu organs and promote drainage. According to Cang Gong's discussion, oil-based preparations can be taken, but dry/harsh medicines and cold medicines should be avoided. If the rash has already condensed at the skin pores and is slightly emerging, purgation/drainage should not be performed. Conversely, if the eruption is too excessive and the follicles are suppurating with pus and water, drainage may be appropriate. If drainage has not yet been performed, Zicao Decoction (Purple Gromwell Decoction) should be administered immediately.
Zicao Decoction Formula
Radix Arnebiae seu Lithospermi (Lithospermi Radix, two liang, fresh)
The above single herb is finely chopped. First, soak it in boiling water, then cover it tightly with a vessel to prevent the aroma of the herb from escaping. Let it cool to body temperature. For infants aged fifty to one hundred days... to three years old...
To treat latent heat in the Zang-Fu organs of children before the formation of rash/pox, when the limbs feel slightly hot, appetite decreases, hair becomes dry and straight, and the forehead is occasionally slightly hot, Shengyou Tangji Method (Raw Oil Decoction Method) is suitable. Bian Que and Cang Gong referred to this as the "Divine Method."
One cup of Raw Oil
Warm the oil to body temperature. Take half a cup of boiled water and slowly pour it into the bowl of oil, stirring constantly with chopsticks until the water is fully incorporated and the mixture resembles honey. Stop stirring. Administer at bedtime. For infants aged one to three years, each dose is approximately two clam shells; for children aged five to seven years, each dose is approximately three clam shells; for fifteen-year-olds... each dose is three large clam shells; up to adults, each dose is five clam shells or three large he. Administer well after meals. After taking, allow the patient to lie down for a short time. If after three to five doses, urination and defecation become normal and limb heat subsides, the rash/pox will not recur, and the patient will naturally calm down.
Huixi Jiu Fang (Coriander Wine Method) to promote rapid eruption of rash/peas.
Coriandri Fructus (Coriander, half a handful)
Finely chop the above single herb. First, boil two sheng of wine until bubbling, then soak the coriander. Cover tightly to prevent aroma loss. Cool and strain. Spray gently from the neck downwards on the back/spine, as well as both legs, chest, and abdomen, ensuring coverage, but do not spray on the face.
When treating rash/pox that is about to erupt and signs are visible, protect the face and eyes to prevent contamination. Before using Huixi Jiu for spraying, apply this formula to the face first. Both adults and infants with this condition should protect their faces. Huangbai Gao Fang (Phellodendron Ointment Formula).
Cortex Phellodendri Amurensis (Huangbai, one liang, coarse bark removed) Semen Sojae Preparatum (Green Soybean, one and a half liang) Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Licorice Root, roasted four liang)
Pulverize the above three herbs and sieve them. Grind again until uniform and fine. Mix with raw sesame oil to form a thin ointment. Apply thickly from the front of the ears to the eye sockets. Apply three to five times day and night. After applying the face ointment, Huixi Jiu can be sprayed. If this facial ointment is used, even if rash/pox erupts, it will be minimal.
Eye Protection Method for Adults and Children with Erupting Rash/Pox.
At the first sign of illness, take a small amount of salt crystals, steep in warm water, and wash both eyes. Wash two to three times day and night. Adults dip fingers in the salt water solution and apply drops into the eyes, wiping immediately with a cloth. Initially, application causes pain. After three applications, pain ceases. Regardless of age, if residual heat remains in the eyes during the resolution phase, this washing and dropping method is also suitable.
Huaimai Bai Pi Tang Yu Fang (Locust Tree White Bark Bathing Formula) for infants under one hundred days suffering from smallpox.

Boil the above two herbs in five sheng of water until reduced to three sheng. Strain and bathe the infant. Then, prepare a strong decoction of Youmaicai (Rapeseed) and bathe again. It is also beneficial for the nursing mother to consume Rapeseed.
Qingdai San Fang (Indigo Powder Formula) for infant macular rash and chickenpox.
Concha Mantisidis cum Excrementis (Qingdai, half a liang, ground to powder) Ferri Carbonas (Iron Slag/Water, one sheng)
Prepare Qingdai as a powder. Mix with Iron Water appropriately at the time of administration. For infants aged one hundred to two hundred days, administer one zi bi (a measure roughly equivalent to a pinch); give before breastfeeding. For one- to two-year-olds, administer half a qian bi; give before meals and in the afternoon, one dose each. Adjust according to the child's size.

Fructus Arctii Lappae (Niubangzi/Burdock Fruit, any amount, roasted)
Coarsely crush and sieve the above single herb. Each dose is two qian bi. Add two spikes of Jingjie (Schizonepeta). Boil in one small cup of water until reduced to six parts. Strain and warm. Divide into three doses. It is also effective if administered after the rash has erupted.
Mutong Tang Fang (Akebia Decoction Formula) for slow eruption or black depression of infant sores.
Caulis Akebiae Trifoliatae (Mutong) Fructus Aurantii (Zhike, pith removed, bran-roasted) Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Licorice, roasted) Radix Arnebiae seu Lithospermi (Zicao Rong)
Equal parts of the above four herbs. Coarsely crush and sieve. Each dose is two qian bi. Boil in eight parts water until reduced to six parts. Strain and divide into three warm doses.

Shenxiao San Fang (Miraculous Effect Powder Formula) for infant sores that want to erupt but cannot, or erupt slowly, or show inversion.
Use the inner white skin of hatching eggshells. Any amount. Burn with charcoal to ash, remove fire toxicity, grind fine. Take one qian bi mixed with freshly drawn cold water.
