It is stated that: The disease of accumulation in the abdomen and hypochondrium of infants, which has a tangible form and does not move upon palpation, is termed "Zheng" (Fixed Accumulation). A pseudo-accumulation with a shape that floats and shifts when pushed is termed "Jia" (Mobile Accumulation). An accumulation located on one side of the body is termed "Pi" (Lateral Accumulation). Various "Zheng" originate from food stagnation; various "Pi" originate from improper drinking; various "Jia" originate from Qi stagnation. All are caused by disharmony of the Zang-Fu organs and dysfunction of the San Jiao (Triple Burner), compounded by invasion of Cold-Dampness Qi. This leads to the failure of digesting milk and food, causing dietary accumulation and resulting in diseases such as Zheng, Jia, Pi, and Knotting.
