Commentary states: The Sanjiao (Triple Burner) is the pathway for water and grain. When the Sanjiao becomes obstructed and excessive, heat transfers to the Bladder, flowing into the interior of the bladder/cystis. Heat qi condenses and knots together, causing the water passages to be unsmooth, thereby forming Lin syndrome (strangury). Its presentation includes red and astringent urination, or urine resembling blood juice; thus it is called Re Lin (Heat Strangury).
