论曰肾水也，肝木也，木得水而盛，其理明矣，肾水既虚，肝无以滋养，故见于目者，
始则 不能瞩远，久则昏暗，时见黑花飞蝇，其证如此，肾虚可知也，治宜以益肾水去肝

之剂，则标本两得矣。

中，次服决明丸，忌铁器。

川椒（一斤）
上一味，拣净去目及闭口者，于铫内炒令透，于地上铺净纸二重，用新盆合定，周回用
黄土培之，半日去毒出汗，然后取之，曝干为度，只取椒于瓷合子内收，每日空心，新汲水
下十粒。
治眼见黑花，或头旋目暗，欲变青盲。眼瞳微开，羚羊角汤方

心日午夜卧温酒或盐汤下。
治肾脏虚风上攻，头旋脑痛眼生翳，或有黄黑花，起如飞蝇，及腰胯酸疼，脚膝冷痹，

蜀椒（拣去目及闭口者一斤用盐一斤拌淹三宿三次换盐焙去盐） 玄参（锉半斤）
上二味，捣罗为末，炼蜜和丸，如梧桐子大，每服盐汤下三十丸，食后临卧服。
治眼见黑花，赤痛昏暗，甘露汤方
葳蕤（焙四两）
上一味为粗末，每服二钱匕，水一盏，入薄荷二叶，生姜一片，蜜少许，同煎至七分，
去滓食后临卧服。
治眼生黑花，渐成内障。及斗睛偏视，风毒攻眼，肿痛涩痒，短视倒睫雀目，煮肝散方
羌活（去芦头） 独活（去芦头） 青葙子 款冬花（各一两）
上四味，捣罗为散，每服三钱匕，羊子肝一叶细锉，淡竹叶数片，同裹如粽子，别用
雄黑豆四十九粒，米泔一盏，银石器内同煮，黑豆烂泔干为度，取肝细嚼，温酒下，又将豆
食尽，空心日午夜卧服。
治肝肾风气上攻，眼生黑花，枸杞丸方

上五味， 咀如麻豆大，以水二升，煎至半升，去滓内新瓷瓶中，入龙脑半分调和，
每夜以铜箸点眼。
治风毒攻眼，黑花不见物，点眼白蜜黄连膏方
白蜜（半合） 黄连（去须一两） 大枣（五枚） 淡竹叶（一握洗）
上四味，用水二升，先煎竹叶取一升，去滓下枣及黄连白蜜，煎取三合，去滓重汤煎如
稀饧，逐夜取少许，点眼中三两滴，盖复勿令尘灰入。
治肾脏风虚，眼生黑花，磁石丸方
磁石（细研水飞二两） 丹砂（研） 陈曲（为末各一两）
上三味，除曲末外，捣研为末，用曲末煮糊和丸，如梧桐子大，每服二十丸，盐汤下，
空心食前。
治眼中赤脉痒痛，时见黑花，杏子膏方
上取初生杏子仁一升，古五铢钱七文，入瓶盛密封，埋门限下，经一百日，化为水，每
夕点两 头。
论述说：肾属水，肝属木，木得到水的滋养而旺盛，这是显而易见的道理。如果肾水亏虚，肝就缺乏滋养，所以表现在眼睛上，起初是看远处模糊不清，时间久了就会视力昏暗，时常看到眼前有黑花飞舞或像苍蝇一样的黑影飘动，症状如此，可知是肾虚所致。治疗应当采用补益肾水、祛除肝风的方剂，这样就能标本兼治。
治疗各种风毒引起的眼病，眼前出现黑花，眼睑粘连（攀睛），翳膜遮挡视线，瘀肉侵入瞳孔。拨云散方：
蔓荆实（三升，煮一遍炒一遍） 蒺藜子（炒去刺角） 羌活（去芦头） 青葙子 恶实（炒，各一两） 防风（去叉枝） 菊花 旋覆花 甘草（炙，各二两） 谷精草 石决明 地骨皮 蝉蜕 木通（锉碎） 牡蛎（烧制，各四两） 淡竹叶 乌贼骨（去硬壳） 白花蛇（酒浸后去骨炙干） 木贼 龙胆 细辛（去苗叶） 密蒙花（各三两） 苍术（去皮，用米泔水浸泡一夜后切片焙干，半两）
以上二十四味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。男子用花椒汤调服二钱匕，女子用茶调服，小儿患疳积眼病或雀盲症，用生米泔水调服一钱匕；若是肾脏风毒引起的眼病，则加胡桃仁四两。
治疗视物模糊，或见黑花如蝇翅状，羌活散方：
羌活（去芦头） 甘草（炙） 石决明（生研） 石膏（泥裹煅至通红后冷却研磨） 密蒙花 苍术（去皮） 防风（去叉枝） 蒺藜子（炒去刺角） 木贼（各半两） 蔓荆子 威灵仙（去土） 干桑叶 荆芥穗 原蚕砂（炒，各一分）
以上十四味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。每次服用一钱匕，早晚饭后，用温开水调服；若眼睛红涩，用沙糖水调服，临睡前再服一次。
治疗眼前见黑花，视物不明，昨叶何草丸方：
昨叶何草（去土焙干） 蒺藜子（炒去刺角，各一两半） 薄荷叶 羌活（去芦头） 荆芥穗 附子（与黑豆一升同煮，待附子软透后去皮脐，切片焙干，各一两）
以上六味药，除黑豆外，捣碎过筛成末，将黑豆捣烂研泥，混合药末制成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用十丸，空腹时用温开水送服。另一配方加羌活半两。服用此药后，可配合服用蕤仁散交替使用。
治疗眼前见黑花、视力昏暗，蕤仁散方：
蕤仁（去皮，一两半） 羌活（去芦头） 天麻 槐子 山栀子（各一两） 黄芩（去黑心） 黄连（去须） 菊花（各半两）
以上八味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。每次服用一钱匕，用温开水调服，饭后服用，每日两次。有人患眼前见黑花，或如大白环挡在眼前，逐渐变成小虫样，后又变为粉点状，只能看见两三分的物体，服用此药二十多天后痊愈，且不再复发。另一配方加细辛、甘草各一两。
治疗肝肾气虚，眼生翳膜，及见黑花，宿鸠丸方：
宿鸠（一只，去毛羽嘴足肠胃，炙至黄色） 羊肝（一副，用清油炼定血，去筋膜，切成片焙干） 蔓荆子（半升，淘净后用生绢袋盛好，放在饭上蒸三次后焙干） 蜀椒（去目及闭口者，炒出油汗） 楮实 淫羊藿 木贼 羌活（去芦头） 蝉蜕（去土，各一两） 甘菊花（去萼） 荆芥穗 苍术（米泔水浸泡去皮） 蒺藜子（炒去刺角，各二两）
以上十三味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜调和制成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，用温酒或盐汤送服，不限时间。
治疗肾虚导致眼前见黑花，诊察右手尺脉，应当沉而数。干地黄丸方：
熟干地黄（焙干） 石斛（去根锉碎） 黄芪（锉碎） 菟丝子（酒浸三日晒干另研末） 防风（去叉枝） 车前子 茺蔚子 覆盆子 肉苁蓉（酒浸一夜去皱皮焙干） 磁石（醋淬七遍，细研水飞） 地肤子（各一两） 兔肝（一两半，炙干）
以上十二味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜调和均匀，再杵捣五百下，制成如梧桐子大的丸药。空腹及晚饭前，用盐酒送服三十丸。
治疗肝肾虚风上攻，眼生黑花，或如水浪波动，摩顶膏方：
空青（研细） 青盐（研细，各半两） 槐子 木香 附子（各一两） 牛酥（二两） 鹅脂（四两） 龙脑（半钱） 丹砂（研细一分） 旱莲草（取自然汁一升）
以上十味药，将草药捣碎过筛成末。先用旱莲草汁、牛酥、鹅脂在银器中熬煮三五沸，加入诸药末，煎至减半即止。装入瓷器中，临睡前用旧犁铧铁片一片，重二三两，蘸药涂抹于颈部，摩擦三二十遍，使药力进入毛孔。随后服用决明丸，忌用铁器。
治疗眼前见黑花，决明丸方：
决明子 甘菊花（各一两） 车前子 防风（半两，去芦头） 蔓荆子（半两） 川芎（半两） 生干地黄（二分） 栀子仁（半两） 细辛（半两） 白茯苓（半两） 玄参（半两） 薯蓣（半两）
以上十二味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜调和捣三四百下，制成如梧桐子大的丸药。饭后煎桑枝汤送服二十丸，每日三次。
治疗肝肾风虚，眼生黑花，宜服此方。
磁石（二两，烧后醋淬七遍，细研水飞） 神曲（四两，炒） 朱砂（一两，研细水飞）
以上三味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜调和捣一二百下，制成如梧桐子大的丸药。饭后用温酒送服二十丸。
治疗肝肾虚风上攻，眼生黑花，头目不利，能通神延年，服椒方：
川椒（一斤）
以上一味药，拣选干净，去掉椒目及闭口者，在铛内炒透，在地上铺两层净纸，用新盆扣住，周围用黄土封固，半天后去除毒性并出汗，然后取出，晒干为止。只取花椒放入瓷盒中收存。每天空腹，用新汲水送服十粒。
治疗眼前见黑花，或头晕目暗，欲转变为青盲症。眼瞳微开，羚羊角汤方：
羚羊角（镑片） 决明子 人参 升麻 玄参 车前子（各一两） 羌活（去芦头） 防风（去叉枝，各一两半） 细辛（去苗叶，半两）
以上九味药，切碎如麻豆大。每次服用五钱匕，用水一盏半，煎至八分，去渣温服，不限时间。
治疗肝肾虚风上攻，眼生黑花，头目不利，及内外障翳，眼睛疼痛隐涩，川芎丸方：
川芎 细辛（去苗叶） 蝉蜕（去土） 甘菊花 荆芥穗 苍术（米泔水浸泡透后去皮切片焙干） 蕤仁（去皮，各一两） 犀角（镑片） 羚羊角（镑片，各一钱）
以上九味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜调和制成丸药，大小如小弹丸。每次服用一丸，用茶、酒或盐汤嚼服，不限时间。
治疗眼前见黑花，或眼暗逐渐变为青盲，防风汤方：
防风（去叉枝） 羚羊角（镑片） 车前子 细辛（去苗叶，各三分） 羌活（去芦头） 黄芩（去黑心） 人参 决明子 玄参 甘草（炙） 甘菊花（各半两）
以上十一味药，粗捣过筛。每次服用三钱匕，用水一盏，煎至七分，去渣饭后温服。
治疗眼前见黑花，去翳明目，五倍丸方：
巴戟天（去心，一两） 枸杞子（拣净，二两） 甘菊花（拣净，三两） 旋覆花（拣净，四两） 蜀椒（去目及闭口者拣净，五两）
以上五味药，将花椒放入银石器中，加入青盐四两、醋三升，慢火煮干。如果器物小，随时添加醋继续煮，直到醋尽。只将花椒与前四味药焙干，杵为末，用炼蜜调和制成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十至四十丸，空腹、日中、半夜、卧前，用温酒或盐汤送服。
治疗肾脏虚风上攻，头晕脑痛，眼生翳膜，或有黄黑花，起落如飞蝇，及腰胯酸痛，脚膝冷痹，苁蓉散方：
肉苁蓉（汤浸去皱皮焙干，一两） 巴戟天（去心） 槟榔（煨后锉碎） 萆薢 麦门冬（去心焙干） 犀角（镑片） 羚羊角（镑片） 陟厘（炒，各半两） 黄芩（去黑心） 茺蔚子 枸杞子 人参 玄参 木香 菟丝子（酒浸一夜） 槐子 决明子（微炒） 丹参（各三分）
以上十八味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。每次服用二钱匕，空腹用温酒调服，临睡前再用栀子汤调服二钱匕。
治疗眼前见黑花，蜀椒丸方：
蜀椒（拣去椒目及闭口者一斤，用盐一斤拌匀浸泡三宿，三次换盐，焙干去盐） 玄参（锉碎，半斤）
以上两味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜调和制成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，用盐汤送服，饭后及临睡前服用。
治疗眼前见黑花，赤痛昏暗，甘露汤方：
葳蕤（焙干，四两）
以上一味药，切成粗末。每次服用二钱匕，用水一盏，加入薄荷二叶、生姜一片、少许蜂蜜，同煎至七分，去渣饭后及临睡前服用。
治疗眼生黑花，渐成内障。及斗睛偏视，风毒攻眼，肿痛涩痒，短视倒睫雀盲，煮肝散方：

以上四味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。每次服用三钱匕，取羊肝一叶细切，加淡竹叶数片，同包裹如粽子状。另用雄黑豆四十九粒，米泔水一盏，在银石器内同煮，至黑豆烂、米泔干为止。取出羊肝细嚼，用温酒送服，再将黑豆吃尽。空腹、日中、半夜、卧前服用。
治疗肝肾风气上攻，眼生黑花，枸杞丸方：
枸杞子（九蒸九晒，二两） 巴戟天（穿心紫色者去心） 旋覆花（择净） 蜀椒（去目及闭口者，炒出汗，各一两）
以上四味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜调和制成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，用腊茶清送服，不限时间。

以上二十七味药，捣碎过筛制成散剂。用米饮调服一方寸匕，饭后服用，每日两次。如果是因饮酒热食五辛，导致黑风入眼，或因重病后视力昏暗，或因赤眼看不见东西，或因虚损视物不明，只要瞳子未破，皆可治愈。
治疗脾肾风虚，下元久冷，眼生黑花，或时昏暗，补诸不足，磁石汤方：
磁石（五两，捣碎装进生绢袋，用水五升煎取二升半后取出磁石，方下诸药煎之） 黄芪 人参 沉香 川芎 桂枝（去粗皮） 石菖蒲 当归（焙干） 补骨脂（炒） 熟干地黄（焙干） 肉苁蓉（酒浸去皱皮炙干） 附子（炮裂去皮脐） 羌活（去芦头） 五味子 干姜（炮） 覆盆子（各一两）
以上十六味药，除磁石外，切碎如麻豆大，拌均匀。每剂用一两半，用大羊肾一对，去脂膜细切，用磁石水三盏，煮羊肾至熟，次下药，煎取一盏半，去渣分作两次服用。
治疗肝肾毒风攻冲，眼生黑花，昏暗视物不明，兔肝丸方：
兔肝（去筋膜薄切焙干） 羌活（去芦头） 黄连（去须） 菊花（各三分） 地骨皮 龙骨 车前子 青葙子 防风（去叉枝） 柴胡（去苗） 葳蕤 白附子（各半两）
以上十二味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜制成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二十丸，饭后用竹叶熟水送服。
治疗肾毒风攻冲，眼生黑花，风泪不止，羌菊丸方：
羌活（去芦头） 菊花（焙干，各一两） 白茯苓（去黑皮） 蒺藜子（炒捣去刺角） 枳壳（去瓤麸炒） 附子（炮裂去皮脐） 肉苁蓉（酒浸切焙干） 黄芪（锉碎，各三分） 沉香（锉碎） 兔肝（炙干） 萆薢（各半两）
以上十一味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜调和制成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用三十丸，空腹食前，用薄荷盐汤送服。
治疗肝肾气虚，眼目昏暗，时见黑花飞蝇，通明丸方：
石决明（刮洗） 芍药 桔梗（锉炒） 车前子（各一两） 茺蔚子 熟干地黄（焙干，各二两） 细辛（去苗叶，一两半）
以上七味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜制成丸药，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二十丸，用盐汤送服，临睡前服用，可加至三十丸。
治疗一切眼疾 青盲黑花，赤脉热泪，黄连丸方：
黄连（去须） 甘菊花 车前子 羚羊角（镑片） 芒硝（各一两）
以上五味药，捣碎过筛成末，用炼蜜调和制成丸药，大小如梧桐子。饭后用温浆水送服二十丸，可加至三十丸。
治疗眼看物如两般，或如蝇翅，或似游丝，黄柏浆方：
黄柏（一两） 鹅梨（三颗） 黄连（去须，一两一分） 黄芩（去黑心，三分） 竹叶（半两）
以上五味药，切碎如麻豆大，用水二升，煎至半升，去渣装入新瓷瓶中，加入龙脑半分调和。每晚用铜箸蘸药点眼。
治疗风毒攻眼，黑花不见物，点眼白蜜黄连膏方：
白蜜（半合） 黄连（去须，一两） 大枣（五枚） 淡竹叶（一握，洗净）
以上四味药，用水二升，先煎竹叶取一升，去渣下枣及黄连白蜜，煎取三合，去渣隔水重煎如稀饴糖状。逐夜取少许，点眼中两三滴，覆盖勿令尘灰进入。
治疗肾脏风虚，眼生黑花，磁石丸方：
磁石（细研水飞，二两） 丹砂（研） 陈曲（为末，各一两）
以上三味药，除曲末外，捣研为末，用曲末煮糊和丸，大小如梧桐子。每次服用二十丸，用盐汤送服，空腹食前。
治疗眼中赤脉痒痛，时见黑花，杏子膏方：
取初生杏子仁一升，古五铢钱七文，放入瓶中密封，埋在门槛下，经过一百天，化为水。每晚点涂两眼眼角。
Commentary states: The Kidney belongs to Water, and the Liver belongs to Wood. Wood flourishes when it receives nourishment from Water; this principle is clear. If Kidney Water is deficient, the Liver lacks nourishment. Consequently, manifestations in the eyes initially include blurred distance vision, which over time progresses to dimness of vision. Patients may frequently see black spots or flies dancing before their eyes. Given these symptoms, Kidney deficiency can be inferred. Treatment should employ formulas that tonify Kidney Water and dispel Liver Wind, thereby addressing both the root and the branch simultaneously.
Formula for Dispelling Clouds (Bo Yun San) for treating various wind-toxins causing visual disturbances such as seeing black spots, pterygium (pterygium), nebula (nebula), and fleshy growths invading the pupil:
Broussonetiae Fructus (San Sheng, boiled once then stir-fried), Tribuli Fructus (stir-fried, thorns removed), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Celosiae Semen, Echinatae Fructus (stir-fried, each 1 liang), Saposhnikoviae Radix (forked branches removed), Chrysanthemi Flos, Inulae Flos, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (honey-fried, each 2 liang), Evodiae Fructus, Haliotidis Concha, Phellodendri Cortex, Cicadae Periostracum, Akebiae Caulis (chopped), Ostreae Concha (calcined, each 4 liang), Bambusae Folium, Sepiae Endoconcha (hard shell removed), Bungarus multicinctus (soaked in wine, bones removed, roasted), Equiseti Herba, Gentianae Radix, Asari Radix et Rhizoma (seedlings and leaves removed), Primulae Flos (each 3 liang), Atractylodis Rhizoma (skin removed, soaked overnight in rice wash water, sliced, dried, 0.5 liang).
The above twenty-four ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Men take 2 qian bi mixed with Sichuan pepper soup; women take it mixed with tea; children with malnutrition eye disease or night blindness take 1 qian bi mixed with raw rice wash water. For kidney wind-toxin eye diseases, add 4 liang of Juglans Semen.
Formula of Notopterygium (Qiang Huo San) for treating blurry vision or seeing black spots like fly wings:
Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (honey-fried), Haliotidis Concha (raw ground), Gypsum Fibrosum (wrapped in mud, calcined until red-hot, cooled and ground), Primulae Flos, Atractylodis Rhizoma (skin removed), Saposhnikoviae Radix (forked branches removed), Tribuli Fructus (stir-fried, thorns removed), Equiseti Herba (each 0.5 liang), Viticis Fructus, Saposhnikoviae Radix (dirt removed), Mori Folium dry, Schizonepetae Spica, Bombyx Batryticatus (stir-fried, each 1 fen).
The above fourteen ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Take 1 qian bi per dose, morning and evening after meals, mixed with warm boiled water. If eyes are red and dry, mix with sugar water. Take another dose before bed.
Zuo Ye He Cao Wan Formula for treating seeing black spots and unclear vision:
Zuo Ye He Cao (remove dirt, dry), Tribuli Fructus (stir-fried, thorns removed, each 1.5 liang), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba, Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Schizonepetae Spica, Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (boiled with 1 sheng of black soybeans until soft, skin and umbilicus removed, sliced, dried, each 1 liang).
The above six ingredients, excluding black soybeans, are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. The black soybeans are mashed and mixed with the powder to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 10 pills per dose with warm boiled water on an empty stomach. Another variation adds 0.5 liang of Notopterygium. After taking this medicine, it is recommended to alternate with Rui Ren San.
Rui Ren San Formula for treating seeing black spots and dim vision:
Pruni Semen (skin removed, 1.5 liang), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Gastrodiae Rhizoma, Sophorae Fructus, Gardeniae Fructus (each 1 liang), Scutellariae Radix (black heart removed), Coptidis Rhizoma (fibers removed), Chrysanthemi Flos (each 0.5 liang).
The above eight ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Take 1 qian bi per dose mixed with warm boiled water after meals, twice daily. A case report mentions a patient seeing black spots or white rings turning into insects and then powder-like dots, seeing only fragments. After taking this medicine for over twenty days, the condition was cured completely without recurrence. Another variation adds 1 liang each of Asari Radix et Rhizoma and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma.
Su Jiu Wan Formula for treating Liver-Kidney Qi deficiency causing nebula and seeing black spots:
Columba (one bird, feathers, beak, feet, and entrails removed, roasted until yellow), Ovis Hepat (one liver, blood refined with clear oil, fascia removed, sliced, dried), Viticis Fructus (0.5 sheng, washed clean, placed in raw silk bag, steamed three times over rice, then dried), Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (eyes and closed-mouth ones removed, stir-fried until sweat appears), Broussonetiae Fructus, Epimedii Folium, Equiseti Herba, Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Cicadae Periostracatum (dirt removed, each 1 liang), Chrysanthemi Indici Flos (calyx removed), Schizonepetae Spica, Atractylodis Rhizoma (soaked in rice wash water, skin removed), Tribuli Fructus (stir-fried, thorns removed, each 2 liang).
The above thirteen ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 30 pills per dose with warm wine or salt water, at any time.
Gan Di Huang Wan Formula for treating Kidney deficiency causing seeing black spots; pulse diagnosis of the right hand chi position should be deep and rapid:
Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (dried), Dendrobii Caulis (roots removed, chopped), Astragali Radix (chopped), Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma (soaked in wine for three days, sun-dried, separately ground), Saposhnikoviae Radix (forked branches removed), Plantaginis Semen, Leonuri Fructus, Rubi Fructus, Cistanches Herba (soaked in wine overnight, wrinkled skin removed, dried), Magnetitum (quenched in vinegar seven times, finely ground, water-flown), Kochiae Fructus (each 1 liang), Leporis Hepat (1.5 liang, roasted).
The above twelve ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Mixed with refined honey, pounded five hundred times, and formed into pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 30 pills with salt wine on an empty stomach and before dinner.
Mo Ding Gao Formula for treating Liver-Kidney deficiency wind attacking upwards causing black spots or watery waves in vision:
Azurolitum (ground), Halotum (ground, each 0.5 liang), Sophorae Fructus, Costi Rhizoma, Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (each 1 liang), Bubali Corneum (2 liang), Anseris Adeps (4 liang), Borneolum (0.5 qian), Cinnabaris (ground, 1 fen), Ecliptae Herba (natural juice 1 sheng).
The above ten ingredients: crush herbs into powder. First boil Eclipta juice, Bubali Corneum, and Anseris Adeps in a silver vessel for three to five boils. Add herb powders and simmer until volume halves. Store in porcelain. Before bed, use an old plowshare iron piece weighing 2-3 liang, dip in medicine, and rub on the neck thirty to twenty times to penetrate pores. Follow with Jue Ming Wan. Avoid iron vessels.
Jue Ming Wan Formula for treating seeing black spots:
Cassiae Semen, Chrysanthemi Indici Flos (each 1 liang), Plantaginis Semen, Saposhnikoviae Radix (0.5 liang, rhizome removed), Viticis Fructus (0.5 liang), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (0.5 liang), Rehmanniae Radix (2 fen), Gardeniae Semen (0.5 liang), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (0.5 liang), Poria (0.5 liang), Scrophulariae Radix (0.5 liang), Dioscoreae Rhizoma (0.5 liang).
The above twelve ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Mixed with refined honey, pounded three to four hundred times, and formed into pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 20 pills after meals with mulberry branch decoction, three times daily.
For treating Liver-Kidney wind deficiency causing black spots in eyes:
Magnetitum (2 liang, calcined, quenched in vinegar seven times, finely ground, water-flown), Fermentum Medicinale (4 liang, stir-fried), Cinnabaris (1 liang, finely ground, water-flown).
The above three ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Mixed with refined honey, pounded one to two hundred times, and formed into pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 20 pills after meals with warm wine.
Pepper Formula for treating Liver-Kidney deficiency wind attacking upwards causing black spots, head/eye discomfort, promoting spirit and longevity:
Sichuan Pepper (1 jin).
Select clean peppers, remove eyes and closed-mouth ones. Stir-fry thoroughly in a pan. Spread on double-layered clean paper on the ground, cover with a new basin, seal edges with yellow earth. Leave for half a day to remove toxicity and sweat. Remove, dry in sun. Store in porcelain jar. Take 10 grains on an empty stomach with fresh well water.
Antelope Horn Decoction for treating seeing black spots, dizziness, dim vision progressing to blindness, slightly open pupils:
Antelopen Cornu (shaved), Cassiae Semen, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Cimicifugae Rhizoma, Scrophulariae Radix, Plantaginis Semen (each 1 liang), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Saposhnikoviae Radix (forked branches removed, each 1.5 liang), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (seedlings and leaves removed, 0.5 liang).
The above nine ingredients are chopped like hemp seeds. Take 5 qian bi per dose with 1.5 cups of water, simmer to 0.8 cup, strain, and take warm. No specific timing.
Chuan Xiong Wan Formula for treating Liver-Kidney deficiency wind attacking upwards causing black spots, head/eye discomfort, internal/external nebula, eye pain and dryness:
Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Asari Radix et Rhizoma (seedlings and leaves removed), Cicadae Periostracatum (dirt removed), Chrysanthemi Indici Flos, Schizonepetae Spica, Atractylodis Rhizoma (soaked in rice wash water, skin removed, sliced, dried), Pruni Semen (skin removed, each 1 liang), Rhinocerotis Cornu (shaved), Antelopen Cornu (shaved, each 1 qian).
The above nine ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of small marbles. Chew one pill with tea, wine, or salt water at any time.
Fang Feng Tang Formula for treating seeing black spots or eye dimness progressing to blindness:
Saposhnikoviae Radix (forked branches removed), Antelopen Cornu (shaved), Plantaginis Semen, Asari Radix et Rhizoma (seedlings and leaves removed, each 3 fen), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Scutellariae Radix (black heart removed), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Cassiae Semen, Scrophulariae Radix, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (honey-fried), Chrysanthemi Flos (each 0.5 liang).
The above eleven ingredients are coarsely chopped and sieved. Take 3 qian bi per dose with 1 cup of water, simmer to 0.7 cup, strain, and take warm after meals.
Wu Bei Wan Formula for treating seeing black spots, removing nebula, and brightening eyes:
Morindae Officinalis Radix (heart removed, 1 liang), Lycii Fructus (cleaned, 2 liang), Chrysanthemi Indici Flos (cleaned, 3 liang), Inulae Flos (cleaned, 4 liang), Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (eyes and closed-mouth ones removed, cleaned, 5 liang).
Place pepper in silver/copper vessel, add 4 liang Halotum and 3 sheng vinegar. Simmer slowly until dry. Add vinegar if needed until exhausted. Dry pepper with the other four ingredients, grind to powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 30-40 pills on an empty stomach, midday, midnight, and before bed with warm wine or salt water.
Cong Rong San Formula for treating Kidney deficiency wind attacking upwards causing dizziness, headache, eye nebula, yellow/black spots like flying flies, waist/hip soreness, cold numbness in legs/knees:
Cistanches Herba (soaked in water, wrinkled skin removed, dried, 1 liang), Morindae Officinalis Radix (heart removed), Arecae Semen (baked, chopped), Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma, Ophiopogonis Tuber (heart removed, dried), Rhinocerotis Cornu (shaved), Antelopen Cornu (shaved), Zhili (stir-fried, each 0.5 liang), Scutellariae Radix (black heart removed), Leonuri Fructus, Lycii Fructus, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Scrophulariae Radix, Costi Rhizoma, Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma (soaked in wine overnight), Sophorae Fructus, Cassiae Semen (lightly stir-fried), Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix (each 3 fen).
The above eighteen ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Take 2 qian bi per dose with warm wine on an empty stomach. Before bed, take 2 qian bi mixed with Gardenia decoction.
Shu Jiao Wan Formula for treating seeing black spots:
Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (1 jin, select clean, remove eyes/closed-mouth, mix with 1 jin salt, soak for three nights changing salt three times, bake to remove salt), Scrophulariae Radix (chopped, 0.5 jin).
The above two ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 30 pills with salt water after meals and before bed.

Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (rhizome removed), Celosiae Semen, Farfarae Flos (each 1 liang).
The above four ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Take 3 qian bi per dose. Slice one sheep liver leaf finely, wrap with several bamboo leaves like a zongzi. Boil with 49 male black soybeans and 1 cup rice wash water in silver/copper vessel until beans are soft and liquid is dry. Chew liver finely, take with warm wine. Eat all beans. Take on an empty stomach, midday, midnight, and before bed.
Gou Qi Wan Formula for treating Liver-Kidney wind attacking upwards causing black spots:
Lycii Fructus (nine steamings, nine dryings, 2 liang), Morindae Officinalis Radix (purple core, heart removed), Inulae Flos (cleaned), Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (eyes/closed-mouth removed, stir-fried until sweat appears, each 1 liang).
The above four ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 30 pills with winter tea liquor at any time.
Shen Xiao San Formula for treating all eye diseases with persistent black spots for years, photophobia:
Haliotidis Concha, Coptidis Rhizoma (fibers removed), Primulae Flos (each 1 liang).

Effective for black wind entering eyes due to hot alcohol/spicy food, dimness after severe illness, blindness from red eyes, or unclear vision due to deficiency, provided the pupil is intact.
Ci Shi Tang Formula for treating Spleen-Kidney wind deficiency, chronic lower origin cold, black spots, dimness, tonifying deficiencies:
Magnetitum (5 liang, crushed, bagged in raw silk, boiled in 5 sheng water to 2.5 sheng, remove magnetite, then add other herbs), Astragali Radix, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum, Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Cinnamomi Ramulus (rough bark removed), Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (dried), Psoraleae Fructus (stir-fried), Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (dried), Cistanches Herba (wine-soaked, skin removed, roasted), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (cracked, skin/umbilicus removed), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Schisandrae Fructus, Zingiberis Rhizoma (processed), Rubi Fructus (each 1 liang).
The above sixteen ingredients, except magnetite, are chopped like hemp seeds and mixed. Use 1.5 liang per dose. Boil one large sheep kidney (fat membrane removed, finely chopped) in 3 cups of magnetite water until cooked. Add herbs, simmer to 1.5 cups, strain, and divide into two doses.
Tu Gan Wan Formula for treating Liver-Kidney toxic wind attacking upwards causing black spots, dimness, unclear vision:

Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (rhizome removed), Chrysanthemi Flos (dried, each 1 liang), Poria (black skin removed), Tribuli Fructus (stir-fried, pounded, thorns removed), Aurantii Fructus (pulp/bran removed, stir-fried), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (cracked, skin/umbilicus removed), Cistanches Herba (wine-soaked, sliced, dried), Astragali Radix (chopped, each 3 fen), Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (chopped), Leporis Hepat (roasted), Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma (each 0.5 liang).
The above eleven ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 30 pills on an empty stomach before meals with mint salt water.
Tong Ming Wan Formula for treating Liver-Kidney Qi deficiency, dim vision, seeing black spots/flying flies:
Haliotidis Concha (scraped/washed), Paeoniae Radix, Platycodonis Radix (chopped/stir-fried), Plantaginis Semen (each 1 liang), Leonuri Fructus, Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (dried, each 2 liang), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (seedlings/leaves removed, 1.5 liang).

Huang Lian Wan Formula for treating all eye diseases including blindness, black spots, red veins, hot tears:
Coptidis Rhizoma (fibers removed), Chrysanthemi Indici Flos, Plantaginis Semen, Antelopen Cornu (shaved), Natrii Sulfas (each 1 liang).
The above five ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into powder. Mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 20 pills after meals with warm fermented grain water, increasing to 30 pills.
Huang Bo Jiang Formula for treating diplopia, seeing things like fly wings or wandering threads:
Phellodendri Cortex (1 liang), Pyri Communis Fructus (3 fruits), Coptidis Rhizoma (fibers removed, 1.1 liang), Scutellariae Radix (black heart removed, 3 fen), Bambusae Folium (0.5 liang).
Chop like hemp seeds. Boil in 2 sheng water to 0.5 sheng. Strain into new porcelain bottle. Add 0.5 fen Borneolum. Apply to eyes nightly with copper chopsticks.
Bai Mi Huang Lian Gao Formula for treating wind-toxin attacking eyes, black spots, blindness:
Apis Mellifera Mel (0.5 he), Coptidis Rhizoma (fibers removed, 1 liang), Jujubae Fructus (5 fruits), Bambusae Folium (one handful, washed).
Boil Bambusae Folium in 2 sheng water to 1 sheng. Strain. Add Jujubae Fructus, Coptidis Rhizoma, and Apis Mellifera Mel. Simmer to 3 he. Strain and re-boil in water bath until consistency resembles thin syrup. Apply 2-3 drops to eyes nightly. Cover to prevent dust entry.
Ci Shi Wan Formula for treating Kidney wind deficiency causing black spots:
Magnetitum (finely ground, water-flown, 2 liang), Cinnabaris (ground), Chen Qu (powder, each 1 liang).
Crush/grind ingredients (except Chen Qu powder) into powder. Use Chen Qu powder to make paste for binding. Form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 20 pills with salt water on an empty stomach before meals.

Take 1 sheng of freshly harvested Apricot Kernel. Place in a bottle with seven ancient Wuzhu coins. Seal tightly and bury under a door threshold for 100 days until it turns to water. Apply to the corners of the eyes every evening.
