论曰肾开窍于耳，足少阴之经，宗脉所会也，若精气调和，元脏充盛，则耳聪而诸疾不
生，或劳伤气血，客受风邪，则肾虚而为耳病，有肾间积水而耳聋者，有心气虚热而耳聋者
，有脑脂下流成耵聍耳垢而耳聋者，其证不一。
治肾间有水耳聋，经年不瘥，泽泻汤方
泽泻（一两半） 熟干地黄（焙二两） 五味子 丹参 玄参 防风（去叉） 桂（去

上七味，捣罗为末，炼蜜丸如梧桐子大，每服三十丸，空心温水下。
治耳内窒塞，如有物点黄 膏方

上五味，捣罗为末，以清麻油五合调匀，慢火煎取二合，稀稠得所，以瓷合盛，每用少
许，滴耳中，日三。
治耳重，百灵丸方
芫花（醋浸炒干） 蒺藜子（炒去角） 地龙（炒） 香子（炒） 地丁（各一分）
上五味，捣罗为末，以醋和蜜炼熟，丸如梧桐子大，空心临卧，温盐酒下五丸。
治耳重，渗耳，抵圣散方
瓜蒂 麝香（研） 地龙 地丁（各半两）
上四味，捣罗为散，每以少许渗耳内。
治失饥冒暑，及风热忧愁，使耳暴聋，或一耳塞，因咽气而开，咽已复塞，令人烦闷，
草还丹方
乌头（去皮脐） 黑豆（各四两） 盐（一两）
上三味，瓷瓶盛，坐水中，慢火煮令乌头透，取出细切，与黑豆同焙为末，煮面糊丸，
如梧桐子大，每服十五丸，至二十丸，空心温酒下。
治时行、心气夺耳聋，蓝实丸方
蓝实 茯神（去木） 防风（去叉各一两一分） 黄连（去须一两半） 人参（半两） 菖

远志（去心各等分）
上七味，捣罗为末，炼蜜丸如梧桐子大，每服二十丸，空心温水下。
治汗后耳聋，独圣散方
灵磁石（有窍子如针眼者）
上一味，捣研为细散，每服一钱匕，冷水调下。
论述说：肾开窍于耳，足少阴肾经是众多经脉汇聚之处。如果精气调和，元气脏腑充盛，那么听力聪敏，各种疾病就不会产生；若是劳损伤及气血，外受风邪侵袭，就会导致肾虚而引发耳病。其中有因肾间积水而导致耳聋的，有心气虚热而导致耳聋的，有脑脂下流形成耵聍（耳垢）而导致耳聋的，其证候表现不一。
治疗肾间有水导致耳聋，经久不愈，泽泻汤方：
泽泻（一两半）、熟干地黄（焙干二两）、五味子、丹参、玄参、防风（去叉）、桂枝（去粗皮）、人参、当归（切后焙干，各一两半）、白茯苓（去黑皮）、石斛（去根）、地骨皮（各二两）、磁石（醋淬七遍，三两）、牛膝（去苗，酒浸后切焙）、甘草（炙）、黄芪（锉碎）、石菖蒲（米泔水浸泡一夜后锉碎焙干，各一两半）。
以上十七味药，捣碎筛粗末，每次服用三钱匕，先用三盏水煮一只羊肾，取汁至一盏，去掉羊肾放入药，加入生姜一块如枣大拍碎，大枣三枚去核，一同煎煮至七分，去渣滓，饭前温服。
治疗肾间有水，使人耳聋，补益不足，柏子仁汤方：
柏子仁（酒浸泡一夜后晒干）、桂枝（去粗皮）、白术（米泔水浸泡一夜后锉碎炒制）、人参、干姜（炮制）、甘草（炙）、防风（去叉）、乌头（炮裂去皮脐）、陈皮（汤浸去白焙干）、山芋、川芎、磁石（醋淬七遍）、芍药、黄芪、白茯苓（去黑皮，各一两半）。
以上十五味药，切碎，每次服用三钱匕，先用三盏水煮一只羊肾，取汁一盏，去掉羊肾放入药，加入生姜一块如枣大拍碎，一同煎煮至七分，去渣滓，饭前温服。
治疗虚损导致的耳聋，桑螵蛸汤方：
桑螵蛸（炙十枚）、牡丹皮（半两）、白术（米泔水浸泡一夜后锉碎炒制）、白茯苓（去黑皮）、当归（切后焙干）、桂枝（去粗皮）、牡荆子（炒制）、磁石（醋淬七遍）、附子（炮裂去皮脐）、石菖蒲（米泔水浸泡一夜后锉碎焙干）、熟干地黄（焙干，各一两）、大黄（锉碎炒制）、细辛（去苗叶）、川芎（各半两）。
以上十四味药，切碎，每次服用三钱匕，先用三盏水煮一只猪肾，取汁一盏，去掉肾放入药，煎煮至七分，去渣滓，饭前温服。
治疗脑热脑脂流下，堵塞耳朵导致耳聋，大青丸方：
大青、大黄（锉碎炒制）、栀子（去皮）、黄芪（锉碎）、升麻、黄连（去须，各一两）、朴硝（二两）。
以上七味药，捣碎过罗成末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸剂，每次服用三十丸，空腹时用温水送服。
治疗耳内窒塞，如有物点入黄膏方：
黄芪（锉碎）、升麻、大黄（生锉）、芍药（各一分）、细辛（去苗叶，半两）。
以上五味药，捣碎过罗成末，用清麻油五合调匀，慢火煎取二合，稀稠适中，用瓷盒盛装，每次取少许滴入耳中，每日三次。
治疗耳重，百灵丸方：
芫花（醋浸炒干）、蒺藜子（炒去角）、地龙（炒制）、香子（炒制）、地丁（各一分）。
以上五味药，捣碎过罗成末，用醋和炼熟的蜜调和，制成梧桐子大小的丸剂，空腹或睡前，用温盐酒送服五丸。
治疗耳重，渗耳，抵圣散方：
瓜蒂、麝香（研细）、地龙、地丁（各半两）。
以上四味药，捣碎过罗成散剂，每次取少许渗入耳内。
治疗失饥冒暑，以及风热忧愁，导致突然耳聋，或一耳堵塞，因咽气而开通，咽气后又复塞，令人烦闷，草还丹方：
乌头（去皮脐）、黑豆（各四两）、盐（一两）。
以上三味药，用瓷瓶盛装，置于水中，慢火煮至乌头透彻，取出细切，与黑豆一同焙干研末，用面糊制成梧桐子大小的丸剂，每次服用十五至二十丸，空腹时用温酒送服。
治疗时行疫病、心气耗夺导致的耳聋，蓝实丸方：
蓝实、茯神（去木）、防风（去叉，各一两一分）、黄连（去须，一两半）、人参（半两）、石菖蒲、远志（去心，各等分）。
以上七味药，捣碎过罗成末，用炼蜜制成梧桐子大小的丸剂，每次服用二十丸，空腹时用温水送服。
It is stated that the Kidney opens into the ears, and the Foot-Shaoyin (Kidney) meridian is where numerous vessels converge. If essence and qi are harmonious and the Yuan Zang (Primary Viscera) are robust, hearing will be acute and various diseases will not arise. However, if labor injures qi and blood, or external wind pathogen invades, it leads to Kidney deficiency resulting in ear disease. There are cases of deafness caused by water accumulation between the Kidneys, those caused by Heart Qi deficiency with heat, and those caused by brain fluid flowing down to form cerumen (earwax), leading to deafness. The manifestations vary.
Formula for treating deafness due to water accumulation in the Kidney region, persisting for years without improvement: Ze Xie Tang (Alisma Decoction).
Ze Xie (Alismatis Rhizoma, 1.5 liang), Shu Gan Di Huang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix, dried, 2 liang), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus), Dan Shen (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, twigs removed), Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, bark removed), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and dried, each 1.5 liang), Bai Fu Ling (Poria, black skin removed), Shi Hu (Dendrobii Caulis, roots removed), Di Gu Pi (Lycii Cortex, each 2 liang), Ci Shi (Magnetitum, quenched in vinegar seven times, 3 liang), Niu Xi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, sprouts removed, soaked in wine, sliced and dried), Gan Cao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, crushed), Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma, soaked in rice wash water overnight, crushed and dried, each 1.5 liang).
The above seventeen ingredients are coarsely pounded and sifted. For each dose of three qian bi, first boil one sheep kidney in three zhen of water until the juice reduces to one zhen. Remove the kidney, add the herbs, one piece of fresh ginger (size of a jujube, smashed), and three jujubes (pitted). Simmer together until reduced to 70%. Strain and take warm before meals.
Formula for treating deafness caused by water accumulation in the Kidney region, tonifying insufficiency: Bai Zi Ren Tang (Biota Seed Decoction).
Bai Zi Ren (Biota Semen, soaked in wine overnight and sun-dried), Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, bark removed), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, soaked in rice wash water overnight, crushed and stir-fried), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed), Gan Cao (Licorice Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, twigs removed), Wu Tou (Aconiti Radix, processed until cracked, skin and navel removed), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, washed in hot water, white pith removed and dried), Shan Yu (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), Xiong Qiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Ci Shi (Magnetitum, quenched in vinegar seven times), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix), Bai Fu Ling (Poria, black skin removed, each 1.5 liang).

Sang Piao Xiao (Mantis Ootheca, roasted, ten pieces), Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex, half liang), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, soaked in rice wash water overnight, crushed and stir-fried), Bai Fu Ling (Poria, black skin removed), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and dried), Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, bark removed), Mu Jing Zi (Viticiprunosae Fructus, roasted), Ci Shi (Magnetitum, quenched in vinegar seven times), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed until cracked, skin and navel removed), Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma, soaked in rice wash water overnight, crushed and dried), Shu Gan Di Huang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix, dried, each 1 liang), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and stir-fried), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, sprouts and leaves removed), Xiong Qiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, each half liang).
The above fourteen ingredients are chopped. For each dose of three qian bi, first boil one pig kidney in three zhen of water until the juice reduces to one zhen. Remove the kidney, add the herbs. Simmer until reduced to 70%. Strain and take warm before meals.
Formula for treating deafness caused by brain heat and flowing brain fluid blocking the ears: Da Qing Wan (Isatidis Pill).
Da Qing (Isatidis Folium), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and stir-fried), Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus, skin removed), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, crushed), Sheng Ma ( Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, whiskers removed, each 1 liang), Po Xiao (Natrii Sulfas, 2 liang).
The above seven ingredients are pounded and sieved into powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of sophora seeds. Take thirty pills per dose with warm water on an empty stomach.
Formula for treating aural fullness as if something is inserted, applying yellow ointment: Huang Qi Gao (Astragalus Ointment).
Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, crushed), Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, raw and crushed), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix, each one fen), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, sprouts and leaves removed, half liang).

Formula for treating heavy sensation in the ears and otorrhea: Di Sheng San (Supreme Sage Powder).
Gua Di (Melonis Fructus Semen), She Xiang (Moschus, ground), Di Long (Pheretima), Di Ding (Sonchi Japonici Herba, each half liang).

Formula for treating sudden deafness due to hunger, exposure to summer-heat, wind-heat, or worry; or unilateral ear blockage that opens upon swallowing air but re-blocks after swallowing, causing irritability: Cao Huan Dan (Herb Returning Elixir).
Wu Tou (Aconiti Radix, skin and navel removed), Hei Dou (Sojae Semen Nigrum, each 4 liang), Yan (Halitum, 1 liang).
Place the above three ingredients in a porcelain bottle, set in water, and simmer slowly over low heat until the Wu Tou is thoroughly cooked. Remove, slice finely, roast together with Hei Dou, and grind into powder. Use flour paste to make pills the size of sophora seeds. Take fifteen to twenty pills with warm wine on an empty stomach.
Formula for treating epidemic diseases and deafness caused by depletion of Heart Qi: Lan Shi Wan (Indigo Fruit Pill).
Lan Shi (Baphicacanthi Cusiae Fructus), Fu Shen (Poria with Pine Root, wood removed), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, twigs removed, each 1.1 liang), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, whiskers removed, 1.5 liang), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix, half liang), Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Yuan Zhi (Polygalae Radix, heart removed, equal parts).
The above seven ingredients are pounded and sieved into powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of sophora seeds. Take twenty pills with warm water on an empty stomach.
Formula for treating deafness after sweating: Du Sheng San (Unique Sage Powder).
