Powdered pills may be prepared using the method for Dou Chi Wan (Fermented Soybean Pill), moistened with saliva, while reciting an incantation. The incantation is as follows.
Incantation for Expelling Ke Wu:
Recite: "Master Mo, Mother Mo, Child Mo suffers from Ke Wu. It starts with me. Although Bian Que is skilled, he is not as good as spitting well." After reciting, discard the pill in the middle of the road.
Another method:
Place a knife horizontally on the stove. Undress the infant to expose the heart and abdomen. Hold the knife towards the infant, recite the incantation, and spit. Direct the knife towards the heart and abdomen, making a "Fei Fei" sound (onomatopoeia for spitting), saying: "Bright Sun, rising in the East, turning away from shade to face the sun. Master Ge, Master Ge, I do not know which Master you are. You come without looking, leave without glancing back. The dust on the beam conflicts with living people. Heavenly deity, earth under the door, path of ghosts. The large knife ring and rhino horn face the Kitchen God." Spit seven times to cure Ke Wu. If the child is frightened, spit "Fei Fei" seven times as described. Each time spitting, gesture with the knife and recite the incantation. Repeat three times in total. Use Dou Chi Wan as described above. Repeat five or six times. Break open the pill; if hair is found inside, discard it in the road, and Ke Wu will be cured.
Method for Pediatric Ba Disease:
Discussion states: Any infant suffering from Ba disease is due to an evil spirit guiding the fetus in the pregnant woman's womb, causing jealousy towards other children and making them ill. Ba refers to a little ghost (pronounced 'qi'). Pregnant women do not necessarily attract Ba spirits; it is merely an occasional occurrence. The manifestation of Ba disease includes mild diarrhea, intermittent chills and fever, and brittle, unhappy hair and eyebrows. This syndrome should be treated with Long Dan Tang (Gentian Decoction). If a woman has an infant who cannot yet walk and becomes pregnant again, allowing the older child to nurse from her, this can also induce Ba disease, resulting in yellowish emaciation, skeletal appearance, hair loss, and high fever. These are its manifestations.
