The feeling of hesitation and confusion I experienced over these days is hard to describe. You were like sending charcoal in snowy weather [providing timely help]. Mr. Sanqi also forgave me, so my mind is slightly relieved. However, reading your reply still moves me deeply. You took the trouble to type out a lengthy response, answering almost all my confused questions. This deep affection cannot be compared to the waters of Peach Blossom Pool [a metaphor for deep friendship]. I just had my wife read your reply as well. What she has seen and heard over the past few days has changed her view on Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I sincerely wish for the prosperity of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I wish that the precious wealth you have given us will be widely promoted. I wish Mr. Guyue peace and safety throughout your life!
Additionally, there is one matter I do not understand and would like to consult you about: You mentioned that medication should be taken according to Mr. Sanqi's instructions, and it should not be taken randomly at other times. For the child, we have basically controlled the timing to 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. However, a bowl holds about 180 ml, which the child cannot finish at once, so we can only take it slowly. I remember hearing that this method might be acceptable; I wonder if this is correct? Also, regarding the items mentioned by you such as raw/cold foods, sticky/smooth foods, meat/flour products, five pungent spices, wine/cheese, and foul-smelling foods, what specific categories do "sticky/smooth," "meat/flour," "five pungent spices," "wine/cheese," and "foul-smelling" refer to? Diet should mainly be light and bland. Do not force a pile of "nutritious" food onto him just because you are afraid he won't get enough nutrition, because a sick child's spleen and stomach digestion capacity is limited.

Pay attention to keeping warm and avoid drafts.
Mr. emphasizes the time of taking medicine mainly because different diseases have their best recovery times, referred to in the Shanghan Lun (Treatise on Cold Damage) as "Times of Resolution" (Yu Jie Shi). If you miss it by a little, it may not be a major issue, but if you split the medication into small amounts (like drinking water), the medicinal power may not be concentrated. If you really cannot finish it, at least do not spread it out too much. Unless Mr. says "drink as tea" or "no fixed time," it is best to follow medical advice.
This article discusses the issue of medication timing and also the child's diet. More importantly, Mr. has some explanations; please refer to them. There are too many patients now, and Mr. no longer has time to explain.

As a father myself, I think perhaps other parents have similar questions. Perhaps I will base my reply on the article you received, rewrite the common anxious struggles of parents in your child's medical case (such as whether to send them to Western medicine), and post it on the site for other friends to reference.

Steep in boiling water and drink. Take one bowl at 7:00 AM and one bowl at 3:00 PM. Four doses.

I will report the child's condition again. Of the four new doses prescribed by you, three have been finished. After taking medicine this morning, the body sweated less. However, there was more sweating at the back of the head and neck (without changing the bedding). Placing a hand above the top of the head allows one to feel heat rising (usually, when breastfeeding, there is also more sweating at the back of the head and neck). There is still phlegm in the throat. Yesterday and today, hoarseness occurred once each day. These two days, occasionally a small amount of clear nasal discharge appeared. The day before yesterday, there was one episode of diarrhea. Yesterday and today, the stool was soft and formed initially, then loose. Please diagnose, thank you!

Hello, Sir!
The child has now finished three more doses of medicine. However, I feel there hasn't been much change after taking these doses. Yesterday afternoon, he slept for three and a half hours. This morning, after getting up for an hour, he seemed sleepy again (usually, he is energetic in the morning and generally sleeps for about two hours in the afternoon). I wonder if this phenomenon over the past two days is lethargy. It seems like a large amount of phlegm is blocked in the throat, making a rattling sound, causing discomfort. He coughs occasionally. There is also difficulty breathing while breastfeeding. Because he is too small, he cannot cough up the phlegm himself. I would like to consult you if there is any way to resolve phlegm? Hello, Sir!
Four doses of medicine have been finished. The effect of the first dose was the most obvious; that night, a small amount of thin, white, sticky substance was vomited. Saliva over the following days could be stretched into threads. Now, coughing has basically stopped, but there is still a rattling sound with phlegm in the throat. May I ask if I should continue taking medicine?

It is about resolved. You can take another five doses for consolidation.

My friend (female, 23 years old) was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia half a year ago. Since then, she has been taking Hydroxyurea to suppress white blood cells, keeping them around 10,000 or below. This is the usual therapy for treating leukemia in Western medicine.
Recently, it was discovered that she is pregnant, for 2 months. My friend has never had a child and very much hopes to keep this baby, even at the cost of her own life. She has already stopped taking Western medicine.
The professor at the hospital told her: First, she cannot stop Western medicine, otherwise she likely will not survive until the child is born; Second, because she has taken Hydroxyurea for 2 months after becoming pregnant, the child may be affected. Third, leukemia may be inherited by the child; Fourth, even if none of the above situations occur, pregnancy and childbirth pose risks for leukemia patients.
She is in pain now, but time waits for no one. The child is growing day by day, and the heartbeat is visible via ultrasound. She does not know what to do.
Seeing your discussions on leukemia in Futai Caotang, I felt they were very reasonable. I hope you can give guidance!
