[Pathogenesis] The condition of retained fluid (Liuyin) and retained food (Suoshi) arises from drinking excessive amounts of water after consuming alcohol or leftover food. This causes water qi to stagnate between the Spleen and Stomach. When the Spleen is affected by dampness, it loses its ability to digest food, leading to belching with a sour and foul odor, abdominal distension and fullness, sometimes accompanied by high fever or acid regurgitation. Hence, this condition is termed "retained fluid and retained food." (From Volume 20)
[Formula 1] Shenshi Tongcao Wan (Deep Master's Pass-Through Grass Pill), used for treating accumulations, retained fluid, retained food, alternating chills and fever, mental restlessness due to constraint, nourishing the skin and muscles, and supplementing deficiencies.
