Translation:
The treatise states: Among the five zang organs, the Heart stores Blood. If Blood is damaged and excessively depleted, it leads to a deficiency of Heart Qi and strength, causing a loss of containment and control, resulting in natural leakage or overflow. This is due to the injury of Yang Qi. Some individuals suffer from epistaxis (nosebleed), which indicates an accompanying wind-heat in the Lung channel. If this occurs in patients taking mineral drugs (Shi Yao, referring to ancient ingestion of mineral elixirs), the exogenous heat becomes excessive, leading to exhaustion of Ying and Wei Qi. The circulation of Qi and Blood becomes unregulated, causing blood to flow out from areas of deficiency; if the volume of bleeding is large, it damages Ying Qi. The complexion becomes sallow and lusterless. If left untreated for a long time, Yuan Qi will be severely damaged. Treatment must first involve resolving stasis and eliminating turbid blood while preserving good blood, regulating the meridians, and balancing the fu organs, after which the disease will heal.
Formula for treating severe fever caused by mineral drugs accompanied by hematemesis (vomiting blood).
Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix, 5 liang, crushed) Xiao Ji Gen (Cirsii Japonici Radix, cut, 1 sheng) Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix, 2 liang) Chi Dou (Fermented Soybean, 1 sheng) Zhi Zi Ren (Gardeniae Semen, 37 seeds)
Cut the above five herbs, add 5 sheng of water, decoct to obtain 2 sheng of liquid, and take warm in divided doses.
Another formula for epistaxis.
Sheng Di Huang Zhi (Juice of Rehmanniae Radix) Xiao Ji Zhi (Juice of Cirsii Japonici Radix)
For the above two juices, use an appropriate amount according to the condition. Drip into the nostrils and take orally for better efficacy.
Another formula for treating extreme heat in the Heart fu organ with persistent epistaxis.
Hu Fen (Lead Carbonate, calcined) Guang Mo (Lampblack, powdered) Fu Xia Mo (Soot from the bottom of the cauldron, powdered) Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger Fa) Fa Hui (Ash of Human Hair) Fu Long Gan (Dragon's House Earth, powdered, equal parts)
Of the above six substances, any one may be used. Take an amount equivalent to two chess pieces, place it in a bamboo tube, and blow it into both nostrils to stop the bleeding immediately.
Another prescription.

Cut the above six ingredients, add 9 sheng of water, decoct to obtain 3 sheng, remove the dregs, and take in divided doses. Stop when bleeding ceases. Observe dietary restrictions as usual.
Another formula for treating sudden hematemesis of 1-2 sheng, with blood exiting from both mouth and nose, totaling 1-2 dou.
