The *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* (Emergency Prescriptions Kept in the Sleeve) treats centipedes entering the ear.
Wrap salt in a wooden leaf, heat it, and cover the ear with it; the centipede will exit. Replace with a hot one when it cools down. This is verified effective.
Another prescription:
Hold your breath until full, then exhale forcefully (similar to vomiting or hiccuping), repeat until the centipede exits. If the centipede dies inside the ear, slowly remove it with a hooked needle. If it remains for a long time, take fresh pork, roast it until hot, and apply it to the ear cavity until the centipede exits.

Another prescription:
Place a amount of mercury equivalent to a soybean into the ear. Lie on the side with the affected ear facing down. Strike a copper vessel while clenching teeth ten times; the scutigera will exit. The scutigera is commonly called "tu gu," resembling a centipede but yellow and slender.
The *Beiji Qianjin Yaofang* (Emergency Prescriptions Essential for Emergencies from the Golden Cabinet) treats scutigera entering the ear with divine efficacy.
Fill the ear with cow milk; the scutigera will exit and be partially digested. If it enters the stomach, consume one to two sheng of good cheese on an empty stomach; it will transform into yellow water and discharge. If not fully discharged, take again. This is divinely effective. (Same as *Zhouhou Fang*).
