病源手阳明之支脉入于齿，足太阳脉有入于颊，遍于齿者，其经虚，风气客之，络搏齿
间，与血气相乘，则断肿热气，加之脓汁出而臭，侵食齿断。谓之龋齿，亦曰风龋，养生方
云，朝夕琢齿，齿不龋。又云∶食毕当漱口数过，不尔，使人病龋齿。（出第二十九卷中）

上八味各等分，以薄绵裹少许，纳虫齿孔中。日三易之瘥。

取松脂锐如锥，注龋孔内，须臾龋虫缘松脂出。

煮鸡舌香汁含之瘥。
千金疗龋齿及虫齿方。
白附子（一分） 知母（一分） 细辛（五分） 芎 （三分） 高良姜（二分）
上五味末，以绵裹少许，着龋上，勿咽汁。日二三，亦治口气。

张文仲疗龋齿方。
以郁李根白皮切，水煮浓汁含之，冷易之，当吐虫出。
备急龋齿方。
皂荚炙去皮子，末，少许着齿痛上瘥。

上三味，以水三升，煮取一升，去滓含之，漱齿勿咽汁，甚良。
又附子塞虫孔丸方。
附子一枚炮末，以腊和之为丸，准齿虫孔大小纳之。
取瘥止。
必效杀齿虫方。
雄黄末，以枣膏和为丸，塞牙孔中，以膏少许置齿，烧铁篦烙之，令微热，以瘥止。（
一方有附子一枚）
病源：手阳明大肠经的支脉进入牙齿，足太阳膀胱经有分支进入面颊并遍布牙齿。如果这些经脉虚弱，风气侵入，邪气搏结于齿间，与血气相互干扰，就会产生断肿、热气，加上脓汁流出且气味臭秽，侵蚀导致牙齿断裂。这称为龋齿，也称为风龋。《养生方》说，早晚打磨牙齿，牙齿就不会发生龋坏。又说：饭后应当漱口多次，否则，会使人患上龋齿。（出自第二十九卷中）
五月五日采集的虾蟆（烧成灰）、石黛、甘草皮、细辛、白鸡屎、麝香、干姜、熏黄。
以上八味药各取等分，用薄绵包裹少许，塞入患龋的牙孔中。每日更换三次，痊愈为止。
《集验方》治疗龋齿的方法。
取松脂削尖如锥状，注入龋齿孔内，一会儿龋虫就会顺着松脂爬出来。
《千金方》治疗龋齿及虫齿的方法。
白附子（一分）、知母（一分）、细辛（五分）、川芎（三分）、高良姜（二分）。
以上五味药研成末，用绵包裹少许，敷在龋齿上，不要吞咽汁液。每日二至三次，也能治疗口臭。
又一方
取白马悬蹄少许塞入牙孔中，每日三次，即可痊愈停止。（《外台秘要·翼》同出第六卷中）
张文仲治疗龋齿的方法。
将郁李根的白色树皮切碎，用水浓煎取汁含漱，冷却后更换，应当能吐出虫子。
备急龋齿方。
皂荚炙烤去皮去子，研成末，取少许敷在疼痛的牙齿上，即可痊愈。
病源：齿虫，是虫子啃食牙齿，齿根有孔，虫子在其中，也会导致牙齿疼痛，吃完一颗牙齿后，又继续啃食其余的牙齿。
《养生方》说：鸡鸣时常叩击牙齿三十六下，长期坚持，牙齿不会被蛀虫侵害，使牙齿坚固。又说：早晨未起床时，先用唾液漱口……
《短剧方》治疗齿虫，腐烂棘刺漱汤方。
腐烂的棘针二百枚，即枣木刺朽烂落地者，用一物以水二升，煎取一升含漱，即可痊愈，每日四至五次，以痊愈为度。
《删繁方》治疗龋齿虫方。
莨菪子三合，青钱七文，烧至通红，取小口瓶子，瓶口大小应能含入口中，将钱放入瓶中，取莨菪子……（原文此处似有缺漏或排版错误，依原文直译）虫子啃食龋齿……
又治疗虫齿痛，椒汤方。
蜀椒（一两）、矾石（半两）、桂心（一两）。
以上三味药，以水三升，煮取一升，去渣含漱，漱口牙齿勿吞咽汁液，效果很好。

附子一枚炮制研末，用蜡调和做成丸剂，根据齿虫孔的大小纳入其中。
取效即止。
《必效方》杀齿虫方。
雄黄研末，用枣膏调和做成丸剂，塞入牙孔中，用少许膏置於牙齿上，用烧热的铁篦烙之，令其微热，以痊愈为止。（另一版本有一枚附子）
Etiology: The branch of the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian enters the teeth, and the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian has branches entering the cheek and covering the teeth. If these meridians are deficient, wind-pathogen invades, and evil qi contends between the teeth, interacting with blood and qi, it results in swelling, heat, and pus discharge with a foul odor, eroding and breaking the teeth. This is called dental caries (caries dentium), also known as wind-caries. *Yangsheng Fang* states that grinding the teeth morning and evening prevents caries. It also states that one should rinse the mouth several times after meals; otherwise, it causes dental caries. (From Volume 29)
Toad collected on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month (calcined to ash), Shidai (Mineral Azurite), Ganpi (Cortex Glycyrrhizae), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Baijishi (Gallus Domesticus Excrement), Shexiang (Moschus), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Xunhuang (Realgar).
The above eight ingredients, each in equal parts, are wrapped in thin silk and inserted into the cavity of the carious tooth. Change three times daily until cured.
Jiyan Formula for Treating Dental Caries.
Take pine resin sharpened like an awl, inject it into the carious cavity. Soon, the carious worm will emerge along the resin.
Another Prescription
Boil Jishexiang (Litseae Fructus) juice and hold it in the mouth to cure.
Qianjin Formula for Treating Dental Caries and Worm-Tooth.
Baifuzi (Typhonii Rhizoma, 1 fen), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, 1 fen), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, 5 fen), Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 3 fen), Gaoliangjiang (Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma, 2 fen).
Powder the above five herbs, wrap a small amount in silk, apply to the carious tooth, do not swallow the juice. Apply two or three times daily; it also treats bad breath.
Another Prescription
Take a small amount of horse hoof nail suspended from a white horse, insert into the cavity, three times daily, until cured. (Same as Wai Tai Mi Yao Yi, from Volume 6)
Zhang Wenzhong’s Formula for Treating Dental Caries.
Cut the white bark of Prunus davidiana root, boil in water to make a concentrated decoction, hold in the mouth and change when cool; worms should be expelled.
Beiji Formula for Dental Caries.
Roast Gleditsiae Sinensis Fruit, remove skin and seeds, powder, apply a small amount to the painful tooth to cure.
Etiology: Tooth-worms are insects that eat the teeth. There is a hole at the tooth root where the insects reside, causing toothache. They consume one tooth completely before moving to others.
*Yangsheng Fang* states: Clap the teeth thirty-six times at cockcrow; long-term practice prevents insect damage and strengthens teeth. It also states: Before rising in the morning, rinse the mouth with saliva...
Duanji Formula for Treating Tooth-Worms, Decoction of Rotten Bramble Thorns.
Two hundred rotten bramble thorns (specifically those from jujube wood that have rotted and fallen to the ground). Use one vessel with two sheng of water, decoct to one sheng, hold in the mouth to cure. Do this four to five times daily until cured.
Shanfan Formula for Treating Carious Worms.
Bungarus multicinctus seeds (or Datura seeds, context implies toxic plant seeds often used in ancient texts, here translated as Datura seeds based on common usage in such formulas, though literal is Langdangzi) 3 he, seven green copper coins. Burn until red-hot. Take a small-mouthed bottle whose opening can fit in the mouth. Put the coins in the bottle, take Datura seeds... [Text fragment] ...worms eating the caries.
Another Formula for Toothache Caused by Worms, Pepper Decoction.
Shujiao (Sichuan Peppercorn, 1 liang), Fanshi (Alumen, 0.5 liang), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex, 1 liang).
Decoct the above three ingredients in three sheng of water to obtain one sheng. Remove dregs, hold in mouth, rinse teeth but do not swallow the juice. Very effective.
Another Formula: Aconite Pill for Plugging Worm Cavities.
One prepared Aconitum carmichaelii root, powdered, mixed with beeswax to form pills. Insert into the tooth-worm cavity according to its size. Stop when cured.
Bixiao Formula for Killing Tooth Worms.
Xionghuang (Realgar), powdered, mixed with date paste to form pills. Insert into the tooth cavity. Place a small amount of paste on the tooth, burn an iron comb to make it slightly warm, and apply to the tooth. Stop when cured. (Another version includes one Aconitum carmichaelii root).
