用牛口涎（在牛嘴上涂盐即可引出唾液）、狗涎（吊起狗的一只脚即可引出唾液），以及用童便煮一个大附子。先在掌心涂抹，等到附子的脐部发热时，取来让患者闻嗅，并让其闻药汤的气味，也能起到开通闭塞的作用。
又法：将雄鸡剖开洗净，放在大碗内，置于糊饭上蒸熟，戳几个孔，将笔管插入其中含住吸食。等到热气冲入喉咙，喉部自然就会开通。

Use cattle saliva (obtained by applying salt to the cow's mouth), dog saliva (obtained by suspending one leg of a dog), and decoct one large *Fuzi* (Prepared Aconite Root) in children's urine. First, apply it to the palm. Wait until the navel area of the *Fuzi* becomes warm, then take it for the patient to smell, and also have them smell the decoction; this can also help open the obstruction.
Another method:剖开 and wash a rooster, place it in a large bowl, steam it over rice paste until cooked, poke holes in it, insert a quill tube, and have the patient inhale through it. When the hot air rushes into the throat, the throat will naturally open.
*Danxing* (Arisaema cum Bile, one piece), *Walengzi* (Arcaea Shell), *Baijiangdan* (White Precipitate, each 5 fen), Bai [text unclear/incomplete] for application.
*Tannanxing* (Arisaema Cum Glucomannan), *Kuandonghua* (Farfarae Flos), *Shizhongru* (Margaritum), *Yujin* (Curcumae Radix), *Xionghuang* (Realgar, equal parts) are ground into powder. Hold a slice of fresh ginger on the tongue, and inhale the smoke from burning mugwort (*Aiye*, Folium Artemisiae Argyi) into the throat to achieve efficacy.
Poppy shell powder or Chinese gall powder, mixed with paste and applied to the umbilicus. For coughs where the qi rises from below the umbilicus, use *Poguozhi* (Psoraleae Fructus, i.e., Buchang seed) powder mixed with paste for application; this helps anchor the qi and stop the cough.
This is due to Fire Stagnation. Wiping the back with ginger juice mixed with honey is effective.
Distension and fullness in the chest and diaphragm, restless coughing. Apply Gongfen (Lead Powder) and sesame oil heated in an iron vessel until boiling several times, then remove from fire. Dip a ball of hair into the powder and wipe the chest and diaphragm several times.
For chronic cough due to consumption, fire-cough, long-term cough, dry cough, food-stagnation cough, and alcohol-induced cough: grind *Qingdai* (Indigo Naturalis), *Gualou* (Trichosanthis Fructus), and *Beimu* (Fritillariae Bulbus) into powder, mix with white honey to make pills, and apply/wipe [Note: Text says "wipe", though pills are usually ingested; literal translation used].
*Xionghuang* (Realgar, 1 qian, finely ground) and yellow paper (3 sheets). Mix the realgar evenly with egg white, spread onto the yellow paper, dry it, and roll it into a paper tube. Place it in a pipe or smoking tube, ignite it, and inhale like smoking. After a short while, vomiting occurs and the cough stops. Once a day. Avoid all other foods for seven days, eating only white rice. If the smell is unbearable, eating boiled pork can resolve it.

One hour before the attack, boil *Fengxianhua* (Impatiens balsamina, also known as Nail Flower) with roots and leaves to make a concentrated decoction for washing. Replace when cool, wiping until it feels extremely hot. (If unavailable, use ginger to wipe). Then, take Bai [missing ingredient] (qian), grind together into powder, mix with honey to form a cake, heat it on fire, and apply it to the root of the third thoracic vertebra on the back. The patient must endure the sensation strongly and must not peel it off lightly. If it cools, remove the cake, reheat it, and apply again. Whether cured or not, prepare extra cakes to replace and continue without interruption. Mild cases require 1-2 days; severe cases require 3 days. Even if suffering for decades, applying for a few days can cure it permanently. This applies regardless of whether the asthma is cold-type, heat-type, deficiency-type, or excess-type, as well as for phlegm-qi knotting in the chest and cough with wheezing/phlegm.
