Shangshuiyu (Upper Water Turtle) occurs beside the Weizhong (BL40) acupoint, with two creases showing pain and raised edges at both ends. The shape is long like a fish, caused by the accumulation of blood stasis and heat. External treatment involves bloodletting using a stone knife (Bianfa) and applying Erhuang San (Two-Yellow Powder).
[Note] This condition arises at the creases near the Weizhong (BL40) acupoint, swelling like a raised ridge, elongated in the shape of a fish, with a purple color and pain. It is formed due to blood heat encountering external cold stagnation, leading to blood stasis and coagulation. Externally, use Bianfa (stone knife therapy) to pierce the swollen ridge and release evil blood. Simultaneously apply Erhuang San (Two-Yellow Powder) mixed with sesame oil for excellent efficacy.
Knee and elbow sores resembling a human face have been passed down since ancient times, attributed to karmic retribution. Internal administration of Liuqi Yin (Flowing Qi Decoction) combined with external application of Sophora root (Kushen) and Fritillaria bulb (Beimu) can help; if one turns from evil to good and reflects on their heart, the condition will naturally improve.
[Note] This condition has been transmitted since ancient times and is considered a rare disease. It mostly occurs on both knees or both elbows, swelling into a shape resembling a human figure, complete with eyebrows, eyes, mouth, and nose. *Ben Shi Fang* states: "The sore's opening can eat; various medicinal treatments applied cause it no distress. Only when Beimu (Fritillaria bulb) is applied does the sore frown and close its mouth. Thereafter, daily application of Beimu powder mixed with water leads to resolution, scabbing, and healing within several days." Other texts attribute this to accumulated grievances requiring self-purification and confession. Initially, Liuqi Yin (Flowing Qi Decoction) is suitable; for prolonged cases, Dakushen Wan (Large Sophora Pill) should be used. Based on the ingredients used, which are all pungent, hot, and dispersing agents, this condition may arise from the condensation of Wind, Cold, and Dampness pathogens, and not necessarily solely from karmic retribution. Following ancient treatment methods is likely to be effective.
